here’s your reminder to never let go of the things you want in life just because you are in a relationship or married. I’ve been in a happy relationship with my boyfriend for over a year now and there’s so much about myself that I’ve learned. but one thing about me that will never change. I prioritise my needs and wants…hear me out cause I know this sounds super selfish.
truth is I believe women should still be selfish to an extent in relationships, now this isn’t to say you shouldn’t care about your man. Of course you should like that’s a given, but you should think about yourself first, this is because you were YOU before you met him.
I understand if you have children this may look a little different for you, so I won’t speak on that. but if you are child free and in a relationship/marriage you have every right to prioritise your happiness.
for years women and girls have adjusted their life choices for a man and ended up losing themselves in the end. I think the smartest thing young girls and women can do is to still put themselves first in relationships. this means prioritising time away from your man, having hobbies, making yourself look and feel good, spending time with your girlfriends etc.
I believe that a MAN is NEVER a plan, just because I’m with him now that doesn’t mean I should abandon all my dreams, desires and aspirations. I came into my relationship filled with so much purpose, ambition and drive for myself & the future I want to achieve so I’ll be damned if I ever give that up for him.
I truly believe the world is our oyster and as the most ethereal beings on this planet we need more women to understand how important it is to have our own shit. (excuse my language, I’m very passionate about this).
I believe the most important relationships in life are the one you have with God and the one with yourself, in that order.
Wellness: Through & Through - Pilates and Running Update
Hello friends!
This week I'm going to return to the beginning of my health and wellness experiment that I started last year and talk about pilates.
To the people who know me and who read this blog please forgive me because no I cannot shut up about pilates, but I seriously can't stop.
It's been one year since I began practicing pilates and I am completely embedded in the cult-like practice and seriously can't stop talking about it.
But in any case, I've been doing pilates five times a week for the last 12 months and I've noticed amazing results in that time both mentally and physically.
Since the start of this experiment I have done a lot of things to improve my health and general wellbeing, but pilates is the one thing that has stayed in my routine.
In celebration of this, I've decided to really challenge myself over the next three weeks and run a half marathon while also completing a 5x5 challenge being done by my pilates studio.
If you're interested in my plan and current progress, keep reading here!
Ok so, like I said, I've been doing pilates for 5 days a week every week (except for the period between July - September when I was of course, travelling), and to say I haven't noticed the difference in my body would be a huge lie.
I have said it before and I will reiterate it now, I don't believe in exercising for only aesthetic reasons - I think it's a dangerous way to exist and can easily spiral into disordered eating and other problematic behaviours that can negatively affect health. However, I have noticed a huge difference in my body since beginning pilates. When I started the practice I was in a really bad mental state, I had put on weight and was doing next to no exercise at all. I needed a shock to my system. When I saw my body in comparison to what I looked like a mere eight months prior, I was shocked. Flabbergasted. Taken aback by how much I had let myself go mentally that I didn't notice the physical change in myself. It was like looking at myself with clear eyes again.
I got a really good deal at my studio as they had just opened and started going a few times a week. I slowly upped the days I would go until now where I try to get there at least 5 times, if not more. I have noticed that I am not only stronger, more lean and definitely slightly more muscular, but I have also dropped a significant amount of bloatedness and weight around my stomach, back and arms.
The more important factors of difference for me however, have been the mental health changes I have noticed. I am happier and more focused and have so much more clarity in my daily thoughts and tasks. My sleep is much deeper and of better quality and in general I am just a much more healthy person.
I enjoy the practice of pilates as a whole and the instructors at my studio are amazing, which definitely makes a difference for me.
On to the half marathon.
I began running properly in the Covid lockdowns, despite a lifetime telling myself that I hated running and that I was bad at it. Now I'm fully in the cult of running as well. This year I made a resolution that I would run a half marathon, and I decided to finally bite the bullet and sign up for one in the last month of the year.
I will be running 21kms on December 3rd in Melbourne and I have started training properly (a bit later than I should have but better late than never) while also doing a pilates challenge, which means I'll be doing two types of strenuous exercise twice a day.
I've been attempting to run most days now for two weeks. This hasn't gone off to the best start but I've been trying!
I definitely have had to up my food intake and water intake and I'll be purchasing electrolyte jellies to try out before the big day.
I'll update you all as I go along and if you want to get in the moment or more consistent updates, head over to my instagram and tiktok!
Otherwise, I'll be back next week with another blog post and as always please let me know if there is anything specific you want to hear/read about, I want this blog to be like a conversation with you all.
what if it was placed in your heart because it’s your destiny? what if you can have everything you’ve ever wanted? what if everything is actually always working out for you? what if you’re triggered because you need to heal? what if it’s all about you? what if it all really does begin and end in your mind? what if it gets to be easy? what if you’re supposed to live in peace? what if you’re here to experience joy? what if you’re perfectly crafted? what if you just need to forget your story? what if you just need to remember your power? what if you woke up in the middle of it? what if you chose to fantasize instead of catastrophize?
It’s a new a month and a perfect time to start a new chapter of my life. I was inspired and motivated by the guide that @2pretty created. I want to set better habits for the future ahead! I’ll also be turning 20 and starting University next year, what a great way to welcome adulthood!

My skin is mostly free from hyper-pigmented scars and protrusions. However, I’ll definitely say that my skin is often dry. Clear but often dry (I drink too much black coffee sometimes).
My secret for clear skin is simple but most people find difficult to execute. My take on clear skin is that it’s 85% health, 15% result of facial products…
Clear skin mainly starts from the inside out…
- NO sugar
- NO sodas (no sugar)
- NO pastries (no sugar)
- NO sweetened drinks of any kind (no sugar)
- NO foods or drinks with added sugar (such as condiments)
- NO fried foods
Examine the ingredients of any packaged foods or beverages. Many foods, especially condiments and beverages, will have added sugar. Even 4g per serving can be a lot.
As far as carbs, starches, and naturally occurring sugars from fruit, you’ll have to look at your own diet and consider cutting back what you think they MAY be causing a problem. These foods raise blood glucose and high blood glucose can lead to a myriad of issues. These issues can manifest themselves in your skin.
A clear skin diet can be very individualized. What may not work for you may work for someone else. However, sugar should definitely be removed from your diet: sodas, pastries, packaged juices, candies, sugary Starbucks drinks…
Other things to consider are stress. High levels of stress can also show up in your skin.
But again, no sugar is the definitely the golden rule. I drink water throughout the day, sometimes mixed with apple cider vinegar, along with coffee and teas. When I dine out, I always skip dessert.
But it’s totally understandable if sugar is hard to kick at first. It feels addictive!
Luxury lifestyle doesn’t only involve buying expensive things. You have to believe you deserve the finer things in life and for you to believe that, you need to love yourself. Taking good care of yourself should be number one! It’s easier to let yourself go than it is to stay on point. If you believe you are deserving of a luxury lifestyle, you must live like it’s already your reality. Treat yourself like you deserve high quality everything!
Now I know your thinking sis, with what money? Well this is what I am trying to emphasis, the baby steps of making simple changes will get you to where you want to be and that’s for everything you wish for. Make a plan, break down that plan and then execute! I can’t emphasis enough the IMPORTANCE of execution ladies, this is were a lot of us get lazy (me included) but if you want a better, more levelled up life whatever that looks like to you, then you need to execute!
Of course many of us do not have money spilling from our pockets so being able to budget for the luxury items or experiences we want is crucial, be clever with your finances know what to spend, when to spend it and budget for when you decide to splurge! Don’t just spend all that you have on that one expensive bag and leave your bank empty, budget/save for your luxury expense in advance so that you can enjoy properly without internally crying at the fact that ur broke af!
But again I have to reiterate, Take great care of yourself (dare I say before splurging) & that can only be accomplished my loving your inner and outer self. Make sure you exercise, drink water, maintain your beauty/skincare routine, meditate/pray and don’t forget to buy yourself flowers!
The way you take care of yourself and carry yourself shows others how they should treat you, if you show them you deserve the best you will attract the best✨
