Stupid AU

Everyone is mad at how Hoxton has been stringing Wolf along. So, in true ‘let’s be adults about this’ fashion, the LGBT members of the Payday gang do their utmost to make Hoxton realise what he was missing out on.

Duke sent Wolf gifts. Every. Single Day. Sometimes they arrived in the workshop, in the common areas - sometimes when the Swede was having breakfast. But Wolf was unable to hide his pleasure at the flowers, poems & gifts that made their way to him.

Sokol was more forward. The Russian liked riling Hoxton up directly.

“Wolfie,” he would murmur, running his hands up and down Wolf’s arms, breathing so deeply one would think he would die if he didn’t inhale the other’s scent, “you’re so fucking handsome. I don’t know why you still single when Sokol want you so bad. I could learn a lot from you.”

Dallas went one step further.

“C’mon,” he said one day, taking Wolf by the hand, “you’re ready for our date, right?”

Wolf wasn’t entirely sure how he kept his laughter to himself as Hoxton’s face purpled.

Dallas wasn’t just performing for Hoxton’s sake, however. He’d actually gone and booked them both in for a spa day, the treatments specifically targeted to Wolf’s so-called ‘problem areas’. The Swede moaned as his lower back was worked and teased and soothed into painlessness for the first time in months. He whimpered as his shoulders sagged, tension leaving in a manner so pleasant he felt as if his brain was oozing from his ears in relief.

i know ur a big fan of wolfhox, but what other payday ships do u like? any rarepairs?

For non-WolfHox pairings, I also like -

MasterTech (Wolf/Dallas) - I think as slightly older guys with more life experience than some of the other heisters, they'd make a cute couple. Not terribly common as a ship but I have seen some fanart for it, so it's not super rare I guess.

MasterFugitive (Hoxton/Dallas) - I don't love this ship per se, but I'll read it. Hoxton's imprisonment also introduces the possibility for angst if you're into that, but it could be a slow building of trust again thing, too. Lots of potential here.

MasterGuide (Bain/Dallas) - I really, really like this pairing. Again, as older, more experienced fellas they'd make a compelling couple. There's a mutual respect that develops over time, I think, and that's important. Confidante? More like confiDATE. Heh.

MasterGrinder (Sokol/Dallas) - I also like age-difference relationships. They're at very different points in their lives so it might not work out long-term (or maybe it would, who knows?), but they're both very handsome. @neomineom has done a lot of great fanart for this pairing in the past and is a very talented artist.

Chains/Houston (I don't think there is a standard ship name for them). Now, I am not a huge fan of Houston (gasps). But I think they make a cute couple. Again, @neomineom did some art for this pairing a while ago which was also really excellent. Don't see much content for this pairing generally, though.

As for rare-pairs, ehh... does GolfGuide (Locke/Bain) count? I think I suggested this pairing as a joke but eh, I could imagine some fuck buddy situation with these two.

I am both perturbed and intrigued by a crack!pairing of my own creation: UkrainianChicken (Vlad/Jacket). I wanted to create the most chaotic pairing I could think of and... well, that's the result.

Honestly, though? I'd probably give most pairings a read. I feel like I've read most of the fics for this fandom on AO3 at this point. These are the first ones that come to mind, though.

Dallas looks stressed out. He explains to Hoxton that his mother, tired of not seeing her over-worked son in years, has booked herself a plane ticket and a hotel and he absolutely cannot get out of seeing her at Christmas. Worse still, she believes he has a significant other.

“Where’d she get that idea from?” Hoxton asks.

“It’s a lie that got out of hand,” Dallas groans, “what do I dooooooo?”

Enter Wolf.

Dallas, impulsively: “Hey Wolf, will you pretend to be my boyfriend for a while over Christmas?”

Wolf presses a hand to his chest, mock-insulted. “What, no smooch? No flowers? I’m a romantic guy, Dallas! You haven’t even told me how pretty I look!”

“Not to mention you’re not single, you twat.”

“Oh my God - are you two? Well, finally!” Dallas grins at them both, and Wolf is beaming. Hoxton smiles, too.

They chat for some time. Then, Wolf has an idea... “Dallas... hear me out, okay? I think Sokol would make a good fake boyfriend - no, no listen, LISTEN, alright? He’s young, he’s handsome, he’s smart, he’d charm the pants off your mom-”

“Not sure that’s what I want-”

“It’d get your mom off your back for a while!” Wolf insists, and the longer he sings Sokol’s praises, the more Dallas thinks its a good idea.

“D’you guys think there’s any... ethical problem... with asking him to do this?”

“You didn’t worry about that when you asked me!”

“Who the fuck is he going to complain to, we don’t exactly have a HR department!”

“... Good point, I guess...”
