Short but kinda long update;
After being in remission with Remicade until 2020, I’ve been on Stelara (we thought was working but then immediately wasn’t), then switched to Humira biosimilar called Amgevita which never worked, but last scope in January of 2022 didn’t show enough inflammation to warrant a medication change. Tuesday I had a flexi-sig that showed significant inflammation so we are now in the process of starting Entyvio. I am really hoping and praying that this is it - I miss what life was like on Remicade, until I broke through. I don’t even know what I’ll do if life is like that again. I’ve just been flaring or on prednisone for the last three years.
I know everyone is so different, but if anyone has any advice, tips, tricks etc regarding Entyvio I would appreciate it - but please be gentle with me I’m not really in a place to accept failure stories right now.
i don't know about you, but i'm taking the day off and doing some extra deep self care today and on the weekend. this year has been hellish, but this week? man...
June 11th, 2020: Doctor’s Appointment: Journal
Today I talked to my doctor.
I told her I was doing really bad. The voices were constant and I struggled to leave my room. I said I slept a lot because the voices were so draining.
We talked about medication and she said she wanted to combine a high potency and a low potency medication together because she was reading an article about it.
She also said that she sent a referral to the psychosis program and said she sent my assessment and some other information to them. She said that she wants me to have specialized services and mentioned Clozapine in the letter and to see if I would benefit from it. She essentially wants them to give ideas for medication and further treatment. She also mentioned that she does believe I have Schizophrenia but that she would like me to have more specialized support.
We talked about medications I’ve tried and the side effects of them. We’re trying Invega again with the Seroquel. She also prescribed Cogentin to prevent dystonic reactions in my eyes. Last time I took Invega I had dystonic reaction in my eyes and it was really painful so I’m going to take Cogentin twice a day to prevent the reactions from happening.
The last time I was on Invega it was really helpful. We stopped it because of weight gain. But I think the problem last time was being in the hospital and being bored and eating all the time. I’ll have to watch my weight gain this time.
I’m completely off the Olanzapine now. I’m not sure if the nausea is from stopping the Olanzapine or eating bad food. My parents have been feeling nauseous as well.
I really hope the Invega and Seroquel work well together. The last time I was taking Invega I wasn’t taking another antispsycotic. But I do remember Invega helping a lot.
I meet with her next week.
Meds
Cogentin 2mg
Invega 3mg
Fetzima 120mg
Seroquel 75mg
Seroquel XR 800mg
Nexium 40mg
I think the fluoxetine is starting to work on my OCD, I feel a bit less like I have to repeat rituals
Eekk.
I got a med change for the first time in six years and I'm actually kind of nervous. Have any of you ever or know someone who has taken Saphris?
Experiences on Risperidone?
I was put on Risperidone today, since my previous antipsychotic (Abilify) was not working well at all. If anyone is willing to share their experiences, that would be helpful! I believe she prescribed 4mg? I can't quite recall the dosage, but I'll know what I pick it up tomorrow LOL!
April 9th, 2020: Doctors Appointment
I saw my doctor today. It was okay. Made some medication changes.
She increased my Seroquel XR to 300mg x 2
And she wants me to take 10mg of Olanzapine in the morning and 20mg at bedtime. Because she thinks the Olanzapine is out of my system by morning and wants me to try some during the day.
She thinks I might metabolize medication faster than others.
She also said that if these changes don’t work then we’ll consider changing medications once school is over.
