Hi! That other anon reminded me if merwhump and I felt compelled to share:
beloved per mer owned by someone with no idea how to do it. The salinity is fucked. The tank is empty/too small (doesn’t even have to be “can’t stretch out” small). The walls are white and the ceiling-which should be glass- is white. There are no plants. Nothing to stop algae. They’re not feeding the mer the right fish. The filters aren’t changed often enough. The water isn’t oxygenated! The possibilities are endless!
And there’s a perfectly lavish sitting area across from the tank, of course.
(am so sorry this is late, Anon, I've been drowning in an ocean in blood over the weekend, but!) Now you got me curious as to why there's a lavish sitting area in merwhumpee's vicinity. Is it the waiting area for an underground lab? A place for their rich investors to lounge and discuss business opportunities? Is it the side lounge of a popular hotel? In a universe where half-breeds are seen as common, but inferior? Is it the sitting place for a rich mogul's dinner parties? And the rest of the week, merwhumpee is left alone, cared for only by the overworked staff? Is merwhumpee the only creature of its kind that was dragged from the sea? Or do minotaurs, centaurs, werewolves, and shapeshifters people this world as well? Is merwhumpee feeling the humiliation of an apex predator reduced to nothing when wrenched from the ocean? Or the fears of a common predator now at the mercy of creatures much stronger than itself...and it can't escape them now... Thanks again, Anon! Loving the merwhumping!
