What someone is doesn't really bother him; organic or not, if you can't be killed, then he may as well enjoy your properties
You're not worth even trying to kill, not his usual way, because human fluids get really caked on, and he doesn't want to clean up stuck-on flesh

Tarn just doesn't have time for these sorts of things
His voice can't control non-mechanical forms, so it's not as if he can do anything but shoot you or get creative
He's fine with keeping you around for research purposes, and of anyone, he's the least concerned with your existence so long as you don't get in the way of anything
Once his team gets bored, like they always do, he'll throw you away again
Tesarus is bothered, only because you're easy to step on, and it's extremely difficult for him to clean all the nooks and crannies of his peds
You're not that interesting, you're easy to kill and shred and take forever to put yourself back together
If you want to hang around him, fine, he'll talk if you ask the right questions, too
Vos finds you most intriguing, though that is of his scientific nature to want to study
You're also not as small compared to him, so he can really get a good look at how your flesh pulls itself back together after being torn and ripped
It's fascinating, and you've become a frequenter of his lab so he can forcefully collect samples and try to recreate the technology with Cybertronian metals

first of all, his holoform is an australian surfer dude. i'm not taking criticism on that
he also has an australian accent if it wasn't implied
canonically too stupid to be brainwashed, it is impossible to manipulate him
not because he KNOWS he's being manipulated, not by any means
he's just so authentically riptide that no one can slow his roll
yeah, the comments towards his intelligence gets to him, it would get to anybot, but he gets through it by enjoying the simple pleasures in life
drinks at the bar, swimming in the oil reservoir, etc
out of all the bots on the lost light, i think riptide (besides swerve ofc) is most likely to get with a human (be that platonically, romantically, or physically)
he just can't understand the hatred and hesitancy toward humans
ofc he still finds humans strange and alien (bc duh) but he's not put off by the differences between species like other bots are
if anything, he thinks some humans are pretty cute
and earth marine life? don't even get him started

complains about anything and everything. it's half of what he talks about

despite that he's not talkative. very much a loner type

his deepest, darkest secret is that he enjoys human video games. he will die before he admits that to the rest of the DJD
rarely lets anyone in his room bc it's full of gamer shit and he's embarrassed about it
he has played doki doki literature club, and very much enjoyed it (much to his dismay)
the first couple notes of the intro song wakes him like a sleeper agent
he's good with his servos, he likes making little trinkets and stuff out of scraps collected from the corpses of traitors
with this talent, he created an insertable barrier for his grinder so vos can be a strange little creature and nap in there
the inside of his grinder is sensitive. not like, sensual, but he knows what's going on in there. getting bits of traitor stuck in there is his own personal hell
but of course, he slacks on the upkeep. the guy is prone to depressive episodes, where he just stops any and all self care, which gets dangerous after a point.
once nickel came along, she treated tesarus to a bout of tough love. it seems to help him at least a bit, even if being yelled at by a woman the size of your foot is embarrassing
him and helex bully the fuck out of each other
not like, actually trying to hurt each other, but they both think it's funny to rile one another up and poke fun
they usually have a private comm link open during meetings bc 1. meetings are boring and 2. it's even funnier when they can't react to each other
you how if you were play fighting with a sibling in front of your mom and she freaks out bc she thinks your ACTUALLY fighting? that's tarn.

Thanks to this post I was able to get a generally accurate height comparison approved by Alex Milne, the artist for MTMTE. This is that image:
I found the best image that shows Megatron and Tarn together and generally on the same X plane.
According to the TFwiki for IDW Megatron is 38'... so. I throw all these into Procreate to start the process...
Here, I just put in the first picture, nothing special.
Then, I scale the comic panel to match Tarn's head size and height, as close as I can. I lower the opacity of the image and add Megs, using that comic panel to size him right.
Next:
I add a ruler measuring at 38'ft (I actually used inches to keep the distances equal when adding other lines, wo it's not 100% accurate). I kept in mind that the edge of the image is not the plane they are standing on.
Then, I add the lines and numbers, and get Megs out of there before he gets killed. Using the numbers and lines, I get their heights. So here's my results:
Vos: 27.25ft
Kaon: 32.5ft
Tarn: 36.5ft
Helex: 50ft
Tesarus: 51ft
You can round up or down if it makes things easier in your writings! Hope this helps with your drawings.
