I'm super-hyped to start my biggest crochet project in a looong minute!! 🧶🥰

My shawl version will be a raven theme with Caron Simply Soft in black (a'cause it has a nice sheen). Tbd if or how I might edge or highlight the feathers.

tumblr has so many beautiful versions of the 'Feather Wing Crochet Shawl' by Crafty Intentions. I'm reblogging what I find as crochet inspiration and encouragement for others and for self lol (rb's: #feather wing crochet shawl).

In Holy Matrimony: An Elriel Oneshot (Coming Soon)

“We’ve done everything. Tried it all.” Elain stared at her hand in his, sinfully wrapped still. Even after all these hours. “Perhaps … ”

“No.” Azriel shut it down, whatever it was.

Her skin flushed. “It’s time we … play by the rules.”

“Do you know what you’re asking for?”

A feather ticked in his jaw.

“Something like that—there would be no going back.”

“And yet it’s the only way forward.”

“Then we’ll make our own way. The Truthteller—”

“Your skin is bleeding, Azriel!” Came out of her mouth, all jagged and heavy.

The female was at her wits end.

“Look at it.”

She lifted their conjoined hands.

How could something so holy be so cruel?

“Look how it drips.” Elain gritted her teeth. “You think Truthteller can pull through? You’d sooner sever your hand, bend your formidable blade than get that Cauldron-forsaken fabric to heel.”

He said nothing.

“Not to mention, you’re a siphon down. That power is pooling in you slowly, waiting to combust. I’m not going to stand here watch you sabotage yourself. Sabotage our mission.” To hell with his stubbornness. “If this is punishment, then please, postpone it.”

A sudden, sharp laugh bubbled out of him, his face tipping back towards the ceiling.

“Punishment?” He shook his head in disbelief. As if she should already know the answer to that riddle. “I am postponing it.”

“Admit it,” Elain swallowed before the chasm that’d opened up. “This marriage maybe a sham, a pretence, but the handfasting ribbon is not.”

I am no Seer.

He is no Shadowsinger.

“Elain.”

“It won’t come off, not unless—”

Within these walls, we are no one.

Within these walls, all is null.

“Don’t say it.” Azriel ground out.

Say it.

“We need to consummate it.”
