Arc-Noire Omake; Songs for The Future!

We open to Jaune and Blake’s Junior High at night, with plenty of families in attendance for the Student Talent Show.

Peeking through the curtains, a 12 year old Jaune is able to spot his sisters, along with his dad, Nick, and his Step-Mom, a very pregnant Kali, and he smiles.

It had been almost 3 years since Blake and Kali moved in with them, and 2 years since the wedding. Not much has changed, apart from the fact that Blake now addresses him as her brother, and he refers to her as his sister.

He quickly retreats backstage as the next student heads out for their act, and he heads towards his friends getting everything ready to perform their act next, while Blake paces back and forth nervously, tugging at the hoodie strings of the sweater Garnet got her for her birthday.

Jaune(addressing her with a raised brow): Still nervous?

Blake(turning to him with narrowed eyes): You know damn well that I’m still nervous!

Blake(groaning as she grabs the sides of her head): Why did I let you talk me into doing this?

Keath(checking his electric guitar): Because we all agreed that you need to work on getting out of your comfort?

Kiba(checking his own guitar and the speakers): Because he offered to sing first?

Freya(smirking as she checks her keyboard): Because you know that you secretly want to show off?

Blake(glaring at their friends): That’s not helping!

Jaune(grabbing his instrument): Don’t worry, everything’s going to be fine, you’ll see!

Blake(sighing before seeing the instrument in her brother’s hands): Why do you have a violin while the others have more modern instruments?

Jaune(smirking): You’ll see.

Meanwhile in the audience;

Terra(sitting down next to Saphron and the Arcs): Sorry I’m late, it was a mess trying to find a parking space.

Terra(looking at the stage as the student finished their act): Did they performance yet? Freya would be annoyed if I missed it.

Just read your latest part of Arc noir and the idea of the Arc's doing something for Ruby before her going into foster care. Made think of the Arc's fostering Yang and Ruby until Tai can put himself together enough to look after his daughters himself

Arc-Sunny Rose?

Nick: Kids, these are Yang and Ruby.

Yang (9yo): Hello!

Ruby (7yo): H-hi.

Nick: And they're going to be staying with us for a little while.

Garnet: Little Ruby here's cute. I love how her hair is red at the end.

Ruby: *Hides behind Yang*

Saphron: And Yang should fit in with the rest of us. Blondes have got to stick together after all.

Nick: What do you think Jaune?

Jaune: They seem nice.

Ruby: *Whispers to Yang* Is that a boy?

Yang: He looks cute.

Ruby: I call dibs.

Yang: You can't call dibs. I already called dibs.

Ruby: When?

Yang: Before you did.

Ruby: AAAAHHHH!!! *Tackles Yang and they proceed to roll around on the floor*

Adrian: The song?

*Music starts playing from nowhere*

Jaune: *Singing* Now, many many years ago when I was twenty three. I was married to a widow, who was pretty as could be.

Willow: Hello Adrian.

Jaune: This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of white.

Winter: We all do.

Jaune: My father fell in love with her and soon the two were wed.

Nick: It can be lonely being a widower.

Jaune: This made my dad my son-in-law, and changed my very life My daughter was my mother. 'Cause she was my father's wife.

Adrian: ...

Jaune: To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy, I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

Jaune: My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad. And so became my uncle. Though it made me very sad.

Nick: It's not that bad.

Jaune: For if he was my uncle, that also made him the brother of the widow's grown-up daughter. Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Jaune: My father's wife then had a son, that kept them on the run, and he became my grandchild. For he was my daughter's son.

Winter: It is a bit strange.

Jaune: My wife is now my mother's mother. And it makes me blue, because, she is my wife. She's my grandmother too.

Jaune: Now, if my wife is my grandmother then, I am her grandchild. And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild.

Weiss: As it should.

Jaune: For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw. As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa.

*Music ends*

Jaune: So does that explain it?

Adrian: ...The fact that you've done this without any actual incest is a testament to the fact that the universe either loves you or hates you.

Arc-Noire 12: Blood, Sweat, and Training

Blake: *Strikes at Jaune*

Jaune: *Blocks with his shield, counter strikes*

Blake: *Dodges his strike, uses her ribbon to tie up his ankle and trip him*

Jaune: *Falls on his back*

Blake: *Points wooden training sword at his neck*

Jaune: *Panting* I yield.

Blake: Another win for me.

Nick: Good job you two. Jaune you need to figure out a counter for Blake's ribbon.

Jaune: *Gets up* Yeah, I kind of figured that out.

Nora: *Stirs in her cot. Turning over to face Ren's cot she open's her eyes to see an empty cot as people all around her go about their morning. She rubs her eyes as she feels something tap against her shoulder*

Ren: *Holding two trays of food* I got breakfast.

Nora: Thanks Renny. *She takes the tray as Ren sits down on his cot*

Nora: *Takes a bite of bland and watery eggs* Bleh. I miss the cafeteria food.

Ren: At least it's better than those rations from Atlas.

Nora: I can't believe Atlas would insult food and my tastebuds like that!

Ren: *Grins* I'll make you a big stack of pancakes when we get to Ms. Rose's house.

Nora: You promise?

Ren: Cross my heart and hope to die.

Nora: *Giggles*

Nora: ...Did you hear anything about us going up to look for stuff?

Ren: Just that we'll be leaving at 10.

On the other side of Vale in a city on the eastern coast.

Nick: *Stands on the balcony attached to his office. Staring out over a cliff and into the sea*

Blanche: Nick! Come here!

Nick: *Sitting in his office, on the phone*

Desumi: Since this is Jaune's first incident of fighting he'll just have to serve some detention.

Nick: He won't be suspended?

Desumi: No. As long as he doesn't make a habit of getting into fights at school he'll be fine.

Nick: Thank you Desumi.

Desumi: You're welcome. Have a good evening Nicholas.

Nick: You too. *Hangs up*

Nick: *Sighs* ... *Picks up his wedding photo* What am I going to do Blanche? You were always better with the kids than I was...

9yo Yang: *Yelling from downstairs* Ruby! Dad's gonna be back soon! Are you ready?!

7yo Ruby: I'm just getting mom's gift!

Yang: Okay!

Ruby: *Picks up a picture of Summer on her nightstand* I know you'll love it mom. *Turns picture around and takes the key out of the frame*

Ruby: *Opens her closet and pulls a little chest out of the back*

Yang: Uncle Qrow. *Pokes Qrow* Wake up!

Qrow: *Laying on the couch, groans*

Yang: Come on. We gotta get ready to go see mom.

Qrow: I'm already ready.

Yang: No, you need to go take a shower. You smell like booze.
