Inspired by @yoginicathy here’s a new pose for me: #candycanepose. It’s sort of like #dancerspose but with the hand on the floor rather than lifting forward. Means you can really work on opening the hips and heading towards a #standingsplit without worrying too much about balance. It’s a rather splendid shape and I think I shall be making it again! Kids yoga: karate kid inspiration. At 7 and 11 years old kids yoga can still be just playing around doing movie imitations but do it 100 times and it becomes great yoga for body and mind. And lots of fun to play around too. In yoga and life you have to have fun. Kids are such a great inspiration - they laugh at least 300 times a day. It is so good to be around them. Here is the only part of the video (I can find) of when the amazing Matrix stuntman spun his racing car around me, that I mentioned in a previous post ... "I was dubious when the driver said he wanted to drive around me at high speed doing 'doughnuts' while I balanced on one leg, but when he told me he was the stunt driver for Morphius in 'The Matrix' I was in no problems! I sometimes see hatha yoga as the art of doing semi-stressful things in a controlled environment while being relaxed. Working on my one legged balance. My leg has been swelling quite a bit lately. Not fun trying to stand on a swollen leg. Not too great at balancing one legged cuz I have literally no stomach muscles.
