Heidegger: Hey, Rufus, your birthday is coming up, do you want anything?
Rufus: Actually-
Lazard: *drinking wine* Nah, that motherfucker was born by C-section. It's not his birthday, it's his release date.
Scarlet & Palmer: *shoots drinks out their noses*
Reeve: LAZARD!
Chapter 7 - Those Left Behind
There's something I've been meaning to ask all of you regarding those decisions. Why is it that one of you even tried to stop him?
Mod: Rufus in a Suit
Could we possibly get Shinra director fluff balls?
What do ya think about this fluffy gang?
While I'm at it.
Rich stupid evil bastard. Sexy lady (who knows it and uses her powers for evil). Evil Santa who fought in a war and lets everyone know it. Weaselman who does deep dives into the focus d'jour. Literal Clown who shouldn't be in this job. Token Good Guy who definitely is doing something sketchy on the side.
Behold perfect character designs.
When I first saw Remake (because this was my intro to FF7), I was like "Shinra kinda has that mafia-type feel to them." And then you look at OG Shinra character designs and it all makes more sense.
Rufus and the Turks:
President Shinra and Executive Board Members:
You know what's the most frustrating thing about the whole Dyne and Barret thing in Rebirth? That is how ridiculously easy it is to fix that fight.
If they absolutely have to include a Shinra boss fight,
instead of this fat ass bozo
It should've been this diva
Just make up some bullshit excuse like there are signs of WEAPON near the Golden saucer so she and the Turks come to investigate or some shit like that. Barret meets Dyne, they fight, talk it out. Dyne has a mental breakdown and almost turns over a new leaf. Scarlet shows up, which triggers Dyne's PTSD and he starts blasting. The only difference is that this time, Dyne actually manages to push them back and Scarlet has to retreat. But Dyne still dies. Cait Sith won't go with the gang in this version and is the one who rides the monster truck for the rescue in place of Dio. Scarlet then chases them to Gongaga.
Bam, done.
No Palmer tweaking. No naked muscle man flexing next to a corpse of Barret's best friend. No stupid, unnecessary boss fight. The second boss actually ties to the narrative.
I don't know why they have to include Palmer in this part, especially his ridiculous dance. Rocket town is still there. It won't go anywhere. They have a whole ass part 3 to give Rocket town a full chapter, which is actually where Palmer boss fight belongs. It's so fucking pointless!
They ruin one of the most emoting scene in Rebirth for some cheap reference comic relief point. This moment won't lead to any event in the future, it's the crux of Barret's character arc, yet they change it in the most ridiculous way possible. It's such an incredibly stupid decision.
Using real life politics to inspire others for FF7.
Do you think Palmer has a social media platform he bought and renamed T? (Because he likes tea)
