The thing is neither enemy to lovers or friends to lovers is my favorite trope. In fact I always love the ships where the couple have a short of rivalry going on but at the same time they have to work together and are kind of partners that secretly are found of each other but also can't stay without bickering/fighting for more than 3 seconds
"This song do not work well with *insert platonic/romantic ship* ! Their dynamic in the canon is so much different ! "
Well it works perfectly fine with my animation in my head full of my silly headcanons and AU's so-
Annabeth: [bedraggled, half-dead, deranged grin, eye bags, contemplating homocide]
Percy: That's my fucking wife! That, right there, is my wife and I love her so much!!
A lot of people have headcannoned that Percabeth’s children would be named after someone they knew that died (Charlie/Selena/Zoë) but counterpoint: I don’t think they’d do that because Names. Have. Power.
The reason Percy was named “Perseus” was because he was the only hero who got a happy ending. Sally knew that naming her son after him would hopefully bring him good fortune and a long life. Percy and Annabeth would want to honour their friends that lost their lives, but I don’t think they’d do that by naming their child after them.
I actually wrote this into one of my “Next Generation” fanfics as angst. Percabeth’s second child is taken by monsters at a young age, and Percy blames it on the fact that they gave him the middle name “Charlie” after Beckendorf. He thought he was dooming his child to be just another person the Great Percy Jackson could not save. But Beckendorf was a hero, and the kid turns out to be a total badass in the end.
Anyway, feel free to disagree. I know people have thought long and hard about their Percababies headcannons, and it’s something rather personal. But it’s a cool concept to explore. If you’re stuck for heacannons, maybe this might give you a few ideas?
Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson: The Exploration of an INTJ & ESFP Relationship.
Percy and Annabeth are your typical “opposites attract” scenario, and in my opinion, one of the healthiest. However, they didn’t start off that way, and the development of Annabeth and Percy is one of the most intriguing and fascinating relationships I have seen in a while.
You can fall to ship so different
OK. I have to write this. There are several types of ships, but what bothers me the most is that few people realize that the relationship and receipt of these ships are also different. Let me highlight for you the three most significant ones.
( I am so drunk, and i have this thought all week, i don't have people too share.)
Boom
Sometimes a ship steals your heart instantly. All you need is to see them together, the views, the word, the common history, the aesthetics. and boom. You feel their dynamics. And suddenly it's just together. it's them. these two. (or more) They have it. You know. Chemical right here! Boomb.
_ They just say hey!
_ exactly. You see how they did this!?!?
2. Potential
Sometimes you like Character A and want the best for him. You love him. You know he should be happy (or not), but you want him to open up to someone in person. Or just open up his history.
And when you see Character B, you look closely. You see something. They together. Interaction. You look for their interactions, poke a stick into this relationship dynamic and !boom!!!
Yes, it will. they might work. Character B is good for Character A. More than good.
You look at character C and D (people tell you that they can be a love interest/ it's a canon) but at that moment - you say no.
Because Character A and Character B have such Potential. They have chemistry and the potential to explore each other's stories., feelings, sides. They can give something to others. They can.
You see this. You ship this.
3. and the last option. I honestly hate it. There is no escape from this...
Connection
Character A and Character B are connected. They has a story, they have dynamics. They can be each other's friends/mentors/students/family/siblings/ enemies/colleagues. They have a connection and at first you don't see that it could be romantic. Of course not. They can't be lovers. They just....
Until one day you realize that their connection with each other is already deep. Too Deep. that there are two parts to the story; and how they can still be anything other than part of the other's story. What does a romantic relationship mean when they already have something more.
And it's killing me. I didn't want to ship them. it is an accident. I just...do you see their connection?! This love? This potential? Better-sweet thing that they can be more?!?
In most stories (fick, au, people minds) it's platonic/familial love or nemesis relationship, but your brain decides it can add romantic love into the mix.
Here we are. Again
No escape.
