When a month away from the Feast of Spes, Athena made that fatal mistake, the last thing she expected was to find him willingly picking up the pieces. Not that she was ungrateful, really. But was it any wonder she wasn't excited to go on a Sunday hike with her least favourite uncle? Was it anyone's surprise it turned as bad as it did? If you asked him, he hadn’t intended to end up as her babysitter. It was supposed to be simple: go in, get her out and go home before her father chased him off to Tartarus. He should have known that if you rang at the door of old friends and former enemies, they were bound to be angry. Especially if you didn't mean to disturb them. What he couldn't understand was how she struggled so much with a fishing knot.

Couldn’t have such a horrid defensive wall being the masterpiece of my favourite military engineer.

In this fictional setting, this walls are meant to protect the original city-fortress that lived on top of the mountain - see the Numancia la Vieja, which then grew past the old walls and down the flanks.

The preference for tenailles traces allow for two things: brace for sudden rainfalls that might mean surprise exits of the river off its banks and drought phases. And also reduce possible space for attackers to target the city inside its walls.

They are known by the city’s inhabitants as “The Wallbreaker’s fortress”.

That said, I’m no engineer so I’ve probably made some mistakes. As for Spain’s star fortresses, I must admit that I don’t think in our public school we really saw it so I discovered them early in my twenties. And I think there are many curses for them not being very common in modern Spain: centuries of proxy wars fought in Italy, Flanders, the Americas, etc. Followed by centuries of civil wars.

Plus how Spain entered the industrial age and how cities suddenly broke off their defensive walls - considering how many historical sites were left abandoned until late 19th century, I wouldn’t be surprised we reused the stones as soon as it was possible.

Warrior Woman

I painted this warrior woman with my non-dominant hand when I had to turn down a fun art job shortly after arm surgery; I needed to prove that I could still paint, albeit way, way slower at that time, and I’m still so proud of her!

This is the main square of Numancia - based in my writing Wip. A worldbuilding exercise - of a society burdened with sun allergy.

What happened during the chaos of Kronos’s defeat?

Did everybody return to CHB?

What if some took the gamble of running to Europe?

Those of you who follow me due to my fic the Mountain of the Sun, know this story is one that is close to my heart and that has been sitting in my mind for a long time.

While I haven’t written much, I’ve been drawing many of the scenes. Due to the complexity of the plot, I’m considering doing a comic while also having written scenes.

This early 2026 is going well in that sense, I’ve found the character that will be the narrator. A young boy, sitting between many chairs but so, so in love with the idea of becoming a seasoned hero to be able to travel and be an explorer. Making him the bridge between the Greek demigods and the local peninsulares forced to house them:

I hope I can share with you actual work soon.

I’m wondering if I should make a shared project, a collaborative work that expands into the PJO verse and explores Europe as the messy place it is. Or consider opening a Patreon account as these take a lot of effort.

My intention is for the benefits to go to Charity. To RSF, locals like Fronteres Invisibles, Arrels or think tanks like Casa Africa or El Orden Mundial.

As this is a story that deals with immigration and conflict, I’d like to give any benefits to organisations that are working and doing good research into the intel we have and that is helping me write this.

It’s been a while since a character made me froth like a grinch and almost punch my screen.

To me it felt like it made Luke more sympathetic and easier to understand his views. Which allows the team to explore how twisted Kronos and his plan is, without sacrificing our emotional investment with Luke. As a radicalised, not likeable character, she definitely made it easy to make fun of but also be weary of the type of people that are joining Kronos’s cause.

Good work team, I definitely feel like I can have some sympathies for Luke while hating his methods.
