With a tropical twist, this homemade pineapple barbecue sauce has a sweet and tangy flavor. Ideal for adding flavor to your favorite dishes, it can be marinated, grilled, or dipped.
Ingredients: 1 cup pineapple juice. 1/2 cup ketchup. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Pinch of cayenne pepper optional.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if desired. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree until smooth. Allow the sauce to cool completely before using. Use as a marinade or glaze for grilled meats or as a dipping sauce for your favorite snacks.
