Hear me out—Percy gets godhood forced on him but instead of sadly accepting it/suffering in silence, him, the seven, plus Will, Nico, and Thalia, go on a cross country road trip to find a way to strip him of his immortality. Annabeth recruits Magnus to the cause and at some point the Kanes also join in because fuck it. Occasionally the group has to split to follow different leads/safer options, all the while the gods are hunting them down because

1. Zeus does not want those kids running around with that kind of knowledge—hell no

2. Poseidon is not losing his favorite child to death—fuck that

Woman: ...Pardon?

Annabeth (Who Noticed It Too) Internally: FUCK—!

Cater: You've been following us for the past three blocks...

Thalia: I recognize you...You were serving drinks up on Olympus last solstice!

*Bows, Daggers, Swords, EVERYTHING gets drawn*

Percy: Was it my uncle or my "father" that sent you?

Woman (Nymph): ...*Books it*

Annabeth: *Blood(?) Covered* New plan...We take the ferry

Magnus: At this point what other choice do we have? Plus, they probably won't be expecting us to go by water due to...well that.

Hazel: And as long as Percy keeps the necklace on he should be good

Imagine Percy being sent of yet another quest. He's angry and frustrated, and he gets attacked by some monster and ends up hurt. While cursing out the gods, he stumbles to some body of water, about to jump it to heal himself, but he catches sight of his reflection. There's a lot of injuries, but one catches his attention. A long gash across his cheek and lips. He catches himself mid-rant.

He looks like Luke.

OKAY!! I know I wanna Rant about Something,

Because I just want to.

As much as I hate Luke’s actions and the way he goes about dealing with his issues,

I still want Him to slowly be redeemed and I still want Alison To be the irredeemable one.

I want it to be ironic because I think she’s like the opposite of Luke still in that Sense.

Alison as A daughter of Apollo, what’s ironic is In the text, even when Apollo is obviously not the best parent,

He’s like WAYYY more present/decent than most godly parents. The moment that Will notices him go silent when in comes to the TOA events he’s like

“Wait a Minute. Something an’t right”

And It scared me, because that means Will and possibly all his siblings were thinking “No wait. Shit. Does our Dad not Love us?? That doesn’t make sense”

Which coming back to Alison, she would DEFINITELY had that treatment, but the Funniest part and this is what grinds my gears,

LUKE SHOULD SEE THAT.

Like overtime should Begin to realize that Alison is a Crazy Bitch, not because She truly Wants to Destroy the Gods out of what they did or did not to do her,

Unlike him, who Hermes and his Mom shouldn’t have even been together like at All,

But Alison, Apollo was probably there, her mortal mother was probably very loving as well like Sally, and yet she wasn’t being manipulated by Flipin Kronos,

She just believed in his cause because it gives her an excuse to be aggressive as hell,

And this is were that Tragedy Comes in.

Because Luke deep down knows this. He knows she is living proof of The Entire System being flawed.

“She has no reason to do this, yet she did”

And this is were that questioning and taunts from the evil titan come into play.

Yet simply because Alison is a child of Apollo, someone who even the demigod world don’t take seriously,

They just assume she’s misunderstood, her Mama Is Like May, or Apollo is like Hermes but no.

They wanna tell themself because it easier than to See her as a messed up person. Because then Luke would need to see her tragedy.

She was Loved.

She was cared for.

She had all the things that Luke Deep down inside craved to the bone,

And yet she turned out this way.

I think Alison, unlike All of The Villains (Medusa, Alecto, Now Circe)

Will not be explained for how she is..

Which is even sadder,

Because she’s also The One who probably made their lives easier, or

Maybe at least they tell themself that.

And the Moment the last season comes,

Kronos already taken over Luke,

Kills demigods,

Kills his own army,

Had nothing left to loose.

Then he looks at Alison.

The one person who he thought he can relate to, the one person who probably did that whole “OMG!! Hi?” Sweet act to him (like how she did to Annabeth)

And she tumbles herself to the Pits of Burning Tartarus..

He’s gonna Realize all his Mistakes. Because maybe had he been nicer, a better leader, a better person,

Had he been there.. he could have fixed her, he could have changed her, just like how he wanted to Change the situation he had with his Mom and Hermes

She’s living proof that his ideals fail in the end.

My Godly Parent Swap Au - Original Plans (and rant)

Found this in my notes app and completely forgot about it.

My current plan for their parents was mostly formed using a random Greek God generator. Because I'm indecisive.

There were some things I wanted to keep, like Luke being a son of Phobos/Deimos, Clarisse being a daughter of Helios, and Silena being a daughter of Hecate.

There was also Annabeth, I decided I wanted her to be the child of a nature/love god, on the minor side of things.

Ultimately, she's a child of Chloris, claimed as a champion of Athena.

There is very little about Chloris, she's a minor nymph of flowers/spring. Everything about her seems to be more Roman.

I saw that and thought it was perfect. (I'm giving Annabeth a minor inferiority complex that clashes with her hubris.)

Rant time

Imagine:

Her father doesn't want her, her stepmother hates her, her mother is some minor nymph that never actually claimed her, the only power she has is to spawn flowers and how is she ever supposed to survive with that.

But then she's claimed by Athena, the powerful goddess of war, strategy, and wisdom. Athena saw something in her, and deemed her good enough to be a champion - the closest thing the virgin goddess has to children of her own.

She is good, she can be the best, she can change the world.

But she sees how the weaker demigods are treated, the children of flowers and love (ew), she doesn't want to be like that. She's better, she's one of Athena's.

(Deep down she just wants her mother to do something. Cover her in a bouquet of flowers like she was the day she was dropped onto her father's doorstep)

She could rebuild the world, she could make it better. But the people she wants to see that never will, her father, her mother, maybe even her stepmother, who liked her once before all the problems started. She wanted her family, she wanted them to notice her.

They didn't, she wasn't good enough.

So she would make herself be the best. She knew she could be, she could be better than even the gods of she tried.

Thalia & Jason are now the children of Poseidon/Neptune. I still wanted them to be part of the Big Three (I also thought it would be funny)

Pretty much everyone else's parent was randomly chosen. They stem from minor nymphs to the primordials. Truly was random.

Do we ever learn who made Bunker 9? When Festus was created? How and why the bunker was created? I haven't read the Heroes of Olympus books in a good many years, but I don't remember if we ever learned why Bunker 9 was made. And if we still don't know why it was made… perhaps a short story about that is in order? Because I have questions, and I'd kill to read a short story about the birth of Festus. Especially if it's bookended with him and leo being best friends in modern times.

Plus, someone in Bunker 9 sketched out a design for the Argo II and wrote under it "Prophecy? Unclear. Flight?". There's a story there, and I want to know what it is! Was a 19th century hephaestus kid an oracle? Can someone kindly tell the dead person who drew that sketch that they ended up being very helpful in the long run? So many minor things that could be fleshed out into little short stories.

honestly i think the great prophecy in in heroes of olympus shouldve been more high stakes. it felt like a prophecy specifically just for like four people rather than like the entire group of seven. if you focus on any line except the first

to storm or fire the world must fall an oath to keep with a final breath and foes bear arms to the doors of death.

the second line obviously refers to jason/leo/percy, since they're the ones who have that power, then oath to keep is leo's and foes bear arms refers to what annabeth and percy did in tartarus, which is great and all, and i understand that the others did play a part in defeating Gaia at the end, but maybe a longer prophecy would've been great.

the one in the original series was definitely my favorite thing ever, with so much ambiguity and so many stakes on percy himself, and it had such a good ending that i think if this prophecy was just a little longer, especially because as the second great prophecy in the same generation (rip) it would've had more staked on it.

i've had many thoughts about heroes of olympus and i thought what would've had more stakes was if the last part of hoo was focused on, and the characters were in more danger where they seriously did not come out unharmed or even come out. i would hate for them to die, literal tears, but that emotion really wouldve elevated it for me personally.

i think at one point i did have a thought of supposing that the gods were more threatened, and that the greek-roman war was not actually focused on as their gods were under threat by the current big bad. Though the greek-roman war couldve been good but i feel like that entire octavian arc could have been substituted by a higher stakes arc with gaia. that's just me though, since i liked the way the original series went better, but tell me your thoughts :)
