My Moonwater Trope :) pt.2
The Marauders would be replaced during the full moons. Remus asks them to stop coming, but Sirus becomes desperate and convinces James and Peter that they should go anyway. James complies quickly and Peter sighs and follows after them, only to be stopped at the Shrieking Shack doorway.
They find Remus screaming, his transformation starting, but he is also surrounded by a big brown dog, a raven and a black fox and snake. Remus then sees the Marauders standing there as another wave of pain hits and screams at them to leave.
Sirius flinches, tears wading in his eyes, sorrowfully begging “Remus” but complies when James drags him out by the arm. James also feels his heart break for some reason as he saw the black fox move closer to Remus in comfort before the door shuts.
The Marauders then truly feel the weight of losing Remus from then; his name even fades on the map, leaving behind an afterimage of the ‘Moony’ that was once there.
Sirius strokes over it, while his depression swallows him. His magic couldn't make the name look like it used to.
Remus moves into the head boy room. But once in a while comes to sleep in their shared dorm. On the rare occasions he does, the marauders don't even think to ask why, but just enthusiastically welcome him back and Sirius remains anxiously civil until he leaves again.
Sirius who kept a polite distance would then crawl into Remus’ bed, that was still warm, for the rest of the day and smell his clothes from the day before with an excuse of doing the laundry. James and Peter pretend not to notice, because Remus rarely came back.
Eventually, Sirius becomes ‘normal’ again and starts dating avidly. James who no longer had to look after Sirius, thought he would feel relieved. Yet, James felt cold and hollow. He was barely there even on his dates with Lily. He realised that he wasn’t actually being selfless and looking after Sirius, but actually used Sirius as a distraction.
He realised it too late, because now with his head empty like it’s never been before, his mind was plagued with Regulus. He came to him like nightmares.
James and Sirius started extravagantly throwing parties; excessively drinking. Thus, James was able to make excuses that waking up in the middle of the night crying and throwing up was due to the fire whisky …and not panic attacks.
James refused to acknowledge the looming feeling of regret, that he knows he’s going to carry for the rest of his life.
So he starts praying his life would be little and that the war would grant his wish.
Sirius on the other hand would be a rake. He would jump from lovers to lovers until he commits to a decent enough woman, because James married Lily and he wanted to make Monty and Effie happy as well…but he would be miserable.
Because Remus would’ve been the only one to make Sirius brave enough to admit that he most definitely does not want to be with a woman. But without Remus there, Sirius accepted he would never be truly happy again.
Sirius knew himself enough to later accept that he would only ever be able to love one person in his lifetime and it happened to be someone he took for granted and lost.
After they win the war and find out Regulus was helping the Order and Remus was a spy and not the traitor. James and Sirius had to watch them love each other from a close distance and pretend everything was just fine.
Until Teddy Lupin was born… and the envy became too green for the Gryffindors.
Chasing Centaurs
Fifth year had been a nightmare. Sixth year was looking a lot better. Until Moony decides to chase a centaur

A little bit of pre-Wolfstar hurt/comfort for you 🌕✨
~
He jumped violently and he tried to sit up, the movement sending shooting, searing pain through his hip and leg and he cried out.
Sirius was gripping his arm, talking in hushed tones. “Don’t move, don’t move— I think you broke something.”
“What happened?” Remus gritted, fear leaking out through the pain. “Why are we still in the forest?
“You got hurt, you couldn’t walk anymore.” Sirius explained, taking off his jumper and handing it to Remus.
Remus’s teeth were chattering but he shook his head, confused still, and in so much pain. “We can’t both be naked in the cold.”
“Christ, Remus,” Sirius complained, leaning over and shoving the sweater over Remus’s head, “just put on the bleeding jumper. James went back to the shack to get your clothes.”
Remus’s mind was trying to piece together the disparate memories flitting across his mind from the night as he watched Sirius try to conjure further articles of clothing out of sticks and leaves in the gathering dawn. He rubbed his face hard. “I don’t remember—"
“You got stuck in a web,” Sirius said in a tone Remus couldn’t quite place.
"i know a lot of things, but i don't know you" but it's remus who thought he knew so much more about sirius than anyone ever could, who always payed attention to every single move he made, just to realise that he could never predict anything when it comes to sirius, as the prank well proved

── (this will be short n sweet)
“I wonder sometimes.” Remus looked off into the sun—tired. He was tired of it all—the full moon, the transformations; of Sirius, James, and Peter; Hogwarts—of being a beast. He swallowed and turned to Sirus, wishing he could look him in the eyes and feel what he felt—if using him meant something—anything. Would Sirius have apologized to him if it weren't for James? “If Snape was a girl, would you still hate him as much as you say you do?”
“What?”
“Better yet, if he were in Gryffindor, would you taunt him the way you usually do?” Sirius’ face twisted in displeasure. It was Snivy; there would be no planet, no scenario, no dimension where he would like that slimy, big-beaked bastard. “Why does it even matter?” “Why does it matter? He says.” There was a pause and Sirius looked at Remus. Remus, who was pounding his foot on the floor, his jaw tight and his eyes fiercely yellow and sharp.
“Remus—” “If James told you to jump, you’d say how high. That’s all I am going to say.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me," Remus added more bass to his voice, and Sirius tilted his head. He didn’t like the way it sounded. So unlike Remus and so familiar. It reminded him of the summers he’d get reprimanded, the summers in the adjacent Black Manor in France with his grandparents. The same, icy harshness as Arcturus and Pollux Black—the same harshness that his father tried to mimic but never came close to. His mother perfectly, though. And seemingly Remus did too.
“Mooney,” Sirius licked his lips. He needed to think—think of what he would want to hear if he was wronged by a friend; what would be the appropriate response in a moment of high energy and tension other than fighting and saying shit he might regret. “James and I know Snape. He is nothing but a dark arts freak. A Dark. Arts—” “And? And?! I am a dark creature, Sirius. What point are you trying to make, Sirius.” Remus stretched out his name and bellowed, his eyes blazing, and his cardigan did nothing to his huge, lanky, limbering frame. “He likes dark arts, so what?! You and James use jinxs and curses that are low-level dark arts! You know what that means—we are about as evil and grimy as him and the rest of Slytherin!” "No—I—no," Sirius hated this—hated to argue with Remus. He hated how this was their last interaction before the break; a fucking fight. “No?!” Remus erupted as he snatched his satchel. “I don’t know if I can do this anymore, Padfoot. It was fine when it was little words—little, harmless jinxes—but between this and the Whomping Willow, I can’t say I know you or James or—anyone.” Remus exhaled. And Sirius had to admit it looked like he doubled in age. “Just…leave me alone, yeah—you—you, Peter, and James.” “Mooney—” “Remus.” “What?” “You don’t get to call me Moony—Remus or Lupin is fine enough,” he said, pinched, a definite in his voice. “And until you can be your own person—not whoever this is—then we shouldn’t be around each other.”

"Just a lovely little fantasy you had one day wasn't it? Come to school, pretend to be human, leave and hope you could continue your little fantasy. Well, you've had your fun, but I'm letting you know now, drop that foolish fantasy and face the truth. You're a monster, and nothing good happens to monsters."
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
'I'm a monster and nothing good happens to monsters.' 'I'm a monster and nothing good happens to monsters' 'I'm a monster and nothing good-' Remus looks up from his book at the rustle of curtains by his bed, locking eyes with swirling silver. The same silver eyes he can never look away from once he starts to look, the same eyes that are haunted, the same eyes that haunt him.
The eyes of the one who betrayed him.
HELLO.
Why is everyone always like Remus ends up with the slytherins after the prank like I love that little moment but Sirius ending up with the slytherins can be so much better.
Like.
Sirius getting told he's just like his family and then ends up with Regulus and his friend group can make such good wolfstar angst. And if your on the same train as me make it bitchkiller instead.
The entire thing is just so good.
