there’s nothing wrong with having similarities, but you don’t want those similarities to take away from who you are just because you have something in common with another person.
you crave attention, you like it when people see you as different or weird because it makes you feel special. You think that being different means being unique means being special. you want people to see you and think you’re weird, in a good way. you want attention, you want validation, and you want to be seen as a real person. you don’t want to be compared to anyone else because you don’t want it to take away from who you are.
you need someone to see you for who you are and not for who you try to be.
isn't it weird that, while a normal pirate crew has a captain and a first mate, buggy's pirates has those two guys sharing the 2nd in command spot. why would you do that. why would you set up such an obviously detrimental system. why indeed would you think a tandem is better than 1 person

Hybristophilia, a paraphilia where one is sexually attracted to people who commit crimes. I would say i have this, but it definitely does not carry into real life so maybe not?? Idk. The causes of hybristophilia are unknown, but a few speculations are;
low self esteem/ those who can’t find love the normal way so they go to find love in unconventional ways/ lack of father (it actually said that 😭)- ✅i didn’t need to get called out like that. But yes, im quite unlovable and i feel like shit and i want a weirdo like Devo to make me feel wanted
Past abuse in romance- ✅ lmfao i said this once but i’ll say it again bc i got new ppl. I was bullied in 6th grade by my crush. My bozo ass thought he liked me but “was too embarrassed to say it” so he bullied me to cover it up. Regardless if thats true, i certainly have a fucked up sense of love because of it. Instead of gravitating to what is good for me (normal men), i am attracted to freaks like Devo who will bring more pain, but at least it’s familiar.

Serial killers are “alpha males” and can protect their lovers and offspring- ❌??? No?? While Devo can protect me and i like that, that’s not what i love about him. Jonathan Joestar and Polnareff can protect me, if it was about protection it would be them. And if one is attracted to a serial killer/ sadistic freak like Devo, then ur not truly being protected bc they’re abusive/sadistic. They have the will to kill and hurt but they do it for their own gain, not yours.

So far, we have 3 reasons. I want to love him the way he never has been loved before, I gravitate towards relationships that I’m familiar with, and my self esteem issues make me desperate.
“What do you like about Devo specifically, Emilio?” Two things:
Sadomasochism- I am a sadomasochist, leaning towards masochism but that doesn’t mean I’m not sadistic. It’s common to see a villain that’s sadistic. I still like sadists, but they get overplayed. Devo, on the other hand, has a unique type of sadism. Unorthodox methods of torture and devoid of morality. Yes, other sadists like torture and also have few morals, but Devo takes it to a new level. This new type of sadism is a breath of fresh air. In addition, something you don’t usually see is a sadomasochist villain. He enjoys getting attacked because he gets to hurt them more, but no doubt it make me get squeal when he laughs maniacally on screen with his bloody tongue wriggling about. He’s so enthusiastic about getting hurt!! Although, I dislike that he gets hurt for the logistics, why don’t you enjoy pain to enjoy it? 😒
Vulgarity- This kinda goes with the uniqueness of Devo. Other villains taunt will their opponents, but they don’t mention biting off dicks or pissing on them. And sure, Devo could’ve been saying that just to freak out Polnareff, but I like to imagine that he was being honest. A true freak, he kills and hurts for the fun of it and not for money.
TLDR; The psychological reasons im into males like Devo (fictional serial killers) is bc I’m desperate for love bc of bad self esteem, I want a relationship I’m familiar with (abuse), and I want to love Devo the way he never has been so I can be special to him. I like Devo specifically for his sadomasochism and his vulgarity.
