it is pure horror to me that despite everything he had been through lestat escaped to paris with hope and he found joy in his old friend and it was taken from him. if magnus had not found him lestat would have lived a mortal life of his own making, and gabriella would have died, never to seek him out again. perhaps everything would have crashed and burned for lestat anyway, but at the very least he would have a fighting chance.

Daedalus designing the Labyrinth has the same energy as whoever created cpt therapy like ooooooh what if we put a real fucked up guy in there and forced children to fight him to the death? What if we made PTSD patients write their trauma statements in pencil /and/ in cursive?? Same energy.
