I am thinking about Alastor. Touch-repusled, disguted with public display of affection Alastor. I love him for that. I love that he is disguted by sex, I love that he is disgusted by the idea of touching (he shaked Lucifer's cane when he met him, not his hand), I LOVE that he loves his personal space.
Now, imagine that you're a new sinner arriving at the hotel. You're a bit on edge, ended up in hell because of misfortune and tried to make the most of it. But when you heard about that redemption hotel ? Yeah, anything is better than hell. You love it here, people are depressed but at least they're trying to be positive. The thing is, maybe it's a bit too positive...Everyone is super nice, or at least polite, especially the princess. Charlie is always first to come up with some kind of therapeutic activity, and it's great ! But perhaps she is a tiny bit too...Exited.
It comes to a point where you're exhausted, your mental health was already through the floor when you arrived, so being constently stimulated for therapy or for some kind of group activity...Yeah, it's taking a toll on you. You feel like shit and you even wonder if you can maybe just sleep for the rest of your forever. The thing is, when you get tired, it's like the princess has to make you do somehting. Because you look sad, she ropes you into a therapy session, she asks is she could maybe help ? If there is anything she could do to alivate the burden you're carrying ?
But you're too exhausted, too on edge and all you want is to lock you in your room and come out only after a milenia of rest. So, you do your best to avoid her, figuring it'll be easier if you just disapear for a while. That's when you see him, siting on the couch of the common area. He's sipping tea, quietly reading with no one bothering him. Alastor. He's the scaryest resident here, you do your best to not get on his bad side, you know the story of the radio demon and you do not want to be on his bad side. Right now, however, his presence feels like a blessing.
People usually tend to not bother him, and when they do he scares them away. Or he leaves. Lucky him, he can just disapear in the shadows and reapear only when he wants. You're kinda jealous. You sit on the couch, as far away from him s possible, and he doesn't spare you a glance. You've seen how much he doesn't like being touched or having someone close to him. The only person you've seen actually close to him was Nifty...Maybe the princess too, but she's touchy with everyone so...You've seen how repulsed he is when Angel Dust was getting in his space, so for your safety, you decide to stay away.
You stay there, tensed, for a good five minutes before you finaly relaxed. Alastor is focused on his book and doesn't seem to care about you being in the same room, it's almost like you're not even here. Your body relaxes and all your exhaustion catches up to you. Your eyes closes and you end up fallling asleep...
When you wake up, you are completely lost. You don't remember where you are, you feel dehydrated and you have no idea how long you slept. You notice that Alastor left, and you're now laying on the couch, no longer sitting. There's also a blanket on you and you're confused because there was no blancket in the common space to begin with. Looking around you notice Charlie and Vaggie talking with Husk at the bar. Or, rather, you see Charlie gesturing around while saying something you don't quite understand about Angel before running upstaires with tears in her eyes. Husk rolls his eyes at her and goes back to his bartending task while Vaggie hurries after her...
Ok..Completely normal behavior here..."Good morning, sleepy-head". You jump hearing the static voice of Alastor. Turning around, you see him standing with a big smile on his face. This smile truly gives you the creeps. "Alastor ?" The demon's smile seems to get bigger when he sees your confusion. "I...Uhm...How long was I out ?" you ask him, more to try and calm your nerves than actully wanting an answer. "I'd say a few hours. You missed all the important part of today's show." You look at him, even more confused, then down at the blanket. "If you're wondering, the princess was scared you'd get a cold. So she brought you this blanket. Quite the gentle soul, is she not ?" You're not sure if that last statement was some kind of mockery towards Charlie or a genuine remark.
"I see...mmh...Is it even possible to catch a cold in hell ?" Alstor stares at you for what seems like an eternity before shrugging. Well, this man is full of knowlege and answer. "May I ask, what makes you think you could fall asleep when I was in the same room as you ? It's quite reckless of you to let your guard down in such a way." Alastor asks, leaning towards you. His smile is defenitly bigger now, reching his ears as his eyes glow red. It scares you to the bone and your body visibely shrieks. This man seems to get pleasure out of scaring people out. "I, uh...I'm sorry, I didn't plan on falling asleep, It's just...Well, you were quiet and calm, and Charlie was starting to be very overstimulating and-" You try to find your words while also doing your best to put some space between you and the radio demon.
Alastor does not help, defenitely loving your distress. He lets you struggle for a good 5 minutes before standing straight again with a deranged cackle. "Ooh, it's hilarious ! So you did feel safe ! I knew this hotel would be full of idiotic clowns !" You watched, bewildred, as the hotel's host leave in a fit of laughter, swearing to yourself that you'll never fall asleep while he's in the same room as you again.
You're doing a pretty good job at avoiding falling asleep arounf Alastor, it's pretty easy since the demon tends to keep to himself. Until you feel it again, that overwelming exhaustion...And Alastor is there again, close to the fire place, quiete , a truly welcoming sight after being overstimulated all day by sounds and color...And you wake up on the couch, no Alastor, and a blanket covering you. This time, Alastor dosn't tease you...So you do it again, and again, and again. It comes to a point where you purpusfully seek him when you need a instent of quiete and rest.
You started by just sitting as far away as possible, but little by littel, you got closer. Not to the point of touching, never to the point of touching. There is always the space for one person between you, but you learned to appreciate it. You know how much Alastor value his personal space, and you feel already flattered that the cannibal allows you this close without threatening you. You soon realise that it is not the princess covering you with a blanket every time, but rather Nifty...Or Husk, it depends. You're almost sure that it's Alastor who told them to do it. Mostly because you heard Husk mumble something about the demon being an annoying prick.
With time, Alastor got used to your presence, and you notice that he too seeks you for when he needs some quiete. It's a weird dynamic, at first, although weirdly comforting. You know you cà never trust Alastor, and he knows you're nothing more than a foolish sinner seeking some semblance of light in a place devoid of it. Yet, as you feel a headache spreading behind your eyes, and he starts to get twitchy because of the television's noise, you both end up at the same place. The couch, close to each other. And if you end up falling asleep on his shoulder, then you'd just say sorry. And if he doesn't push you away, then he'd just pretend he hadn't noticed.

This got out of hand too fast and I think i lost the story plot twice while writing this. Anyway, I'm going back to writing Lucifer smut
The constant pressure for people to give hugs, shake hands, or otherwise touch people is touch-normative and asenphobic. It is also ableist, because a lot of people are touch repulsed due to physical pain, sensory issues, anxiety/paranoia, or other symptoms of neurodivergence or physical/sensory disability.
Btw your f/o(s) understand if you don't want to be touched sometimes. Even if it's most of the time! Even if it's all the time!! They might not start out knowing but they will take no as an answer, and if they are upset it's because you aren't feeling good, not at you. Never at you. And if the best way to make sure you feel better is to not touch, they are happy to do just that, as long as you need <3
I was discussing being asexual with someone today and they just couldn't understand that I have no interest for anything like that
"It's normal to be scared!"
"I'm not scared, I just don't want to do that kind of stuff."
"Oh, you say that now, but you will change your mind!"
"I've been like this for as long as I can remember. I don't even like people touching me unless I know and trust them."
"You just need to grow up!"
"I'm literally an adult."
Why can't people just realize that not everyone is like them? Everyone is different and has different experiences and preferences and situations. People can be different! People can have different preferences! It's not that hard to understand!
There's something unsettling to me about how many people in the Hazbin Hotel Fandom have reacted so excitedly about Vox having Alastor tied up, forcing Alastor to watch him have sex with Val, standing naked in front of him, being very touchy with him and constantly invading his space, it doesn't seem sexual or like good shipping material to me, it's well known Alastor is asexual and touch repulsed and he clearly hates everything Vox did to him. It just makes me uncomfortable how so many people seem to have enjoyed these interactions, to me those scenes are gross and frightening. They're good scenes in that they show how obsessive and touchy Vox is which is very relevant later on, but that doesn't seem to be how many people are interpreting it
