Maxine continues to be the most valid 👏
Maxine 💔
A Maxine episode...and I’m crying at work again. Shocking. Haha.
And I actually watched the whole thing (a little confused cause I haven’t watched the last three episodes but whatever)
But anyway, I love Maxine and she’s perfect.
Things I feel like she put in there just for us (me):
“Lying liar who lies” “More kids” “I had a family” Paraphrasing but...the “stop treating me like a kid” line Aaron asking how Robert was before he even looked at the letter because that’s what he cares about most Robert’s car Aaron’s phone background still being the whole family including Robert and Seb Liv getting to actually say she misses Robert The “Aaron woz ere 2003″ grafitti Ross and Bex being boring I really did love the Cain and Aaron chat. It was exactly what I’ve been wanting from this story and I’m glad it was the two of them. One, because I do love their relationship. Two, because I think Cain is someone who Aaron would listen to more than some others at this point. Three, because it does tie into Cain’s own situation and I did really like his comment to Charity after when he said he didn’t believe a word of it. But I liked that Maxine used Cain to further spell out Robert’s motivations for both Aaron and the audience. I think it’s important to really get that across, that he was trying to do this for him even if Aaron hates it. And Cain really got to list out the points one by one that we’ve been saying for a while and I appreciated that.
I loved Aaron saying that all he wants is Robert. That he doesn’t just want more kids, he wants them with his husband. That’s important to me. And of course I loved the fact that she had him say “more kids” and that he “had a family” because he did (does) and I want that to bode well for future Seb interaction. Come on Emmerdale. Give me single dad Aaron please!
I liked that in general people were a bit calmer with him today. Maybe it was the letter, maybe it’s Maxine, maybe it’s both. But you know Chas at least understood why Aaron was upset today so that’s a positive. And I liked Chas’s little sad face while she was reading Robert’s letter.
I love that we got a bridge scene and a forest scene and a scene in Robert’s car. I want to cry about it too because these were all of their places together and now he’s on his own in them but he’s still thinking about Robert.
The fact that this wedding was all about Aaron’s happiness and security really meant a lot. Not only was tonight about Robron’s love (all facets of that love), but it was about that gobby teenager who was so troubled and grew up to become so SO adored and Robert’s entire world. Aaron is everything to Robert, to Liv, to Chas, to Paddy. He has a massive family that love him.
This is such a huge moment for his character. He finally gets to be happy. What Paddy said about longing to tell teenage Aaron how loved and settled and happy he would be was speaking for most of the audience.
After this awful year of storylines, it felt really important that the balance was returned, and I think Maxine did an excellent job of that. Aaron is at the centre of his family. Robert adores him.
The dynamic going forward will be really good, I think.
WOMEN DO IT BETTER
THE LAST TIME AN EPISODE BROKE ME WAS A MAXINE EPISODE
Its Emmerdale time!
I honestly had to watch this episode twice because it felt a bit choppy and rushed. That felt bizarre because it was a Maxine written episode, but maybe it got this way during the editing process.
1) I kind of understand what Matty is doing. He is trying to protect his mom. And it kind of explains why he wouldn't tell the police about Moria and Emma, but possibly did call the police on Cain. But I also get that it may feel like he is crossing the line a bit. At the same time wouldn't we be also irritated with Moria if she did the same thing with Matty?
2) I was thinking Bob might have been more careful with making sure he got up before anyone else. He would know Brenda's schedule and probably have an estimation of when everyone in the Woolpack would be awake. I want someone to figure it out, but kind of surprised that he would make it so easy seeing how he has been trying to cover his tracks so far.
Also when did Bob get his car back?
3) The thing is Maya, Jacob is not an adult and adults do ghost people.
4) Without that scene that either got cut or never filmed, Robron having the pig and Moria's kids would have made no sense to a general viewer. Or someone who doesn't follow the spoiler pics that ED posts on their website. Okay got that out of the way. Moving on with a list of my favorite things.
Omg it's Seb!!!!!
Isaac is my spirit animal. Always stuffing my face with food as well.
Oh my goodness Kyle actual got to say something.
Liv is not doing a good job proving that she can take care of an animal. And the comment that Robert made about it being made into a sandwich was brilliant.
I really enjoyed watching the preview clip this time around. It's great that they keep talk about having more kids! Even though I still have doubts it will happen.
The chat between Aaron and Moira was excellent and wish that happened more. You could also tell that Danny was sick but it added to the idea that it was Aaron's lack of sleep look.
Aaron and Seb in matching outfits and them all sitting on the floor!
Honestly Queen Maxine has done it again and cured my sour mood!
5) So it still sounds like Charity hasn't told Vanessa the complete truth of what happened between her and Cain...does this mean angst is coming for them? I would be excited if it was! I would be more excited if it lasted more than an episode!!
6) One last little thing. I think Debbie called the police.

Sorry this was long! I felt like I had just done a marathon. It was a good episode, but it was difficult to get my thoughts written at the same time.
I hope everyone has a great day!
You can see this is Maxines episode miles away, because this is on a whole another level compared to this weeks episodes. And this episode has heart and depth.
Round of applause to Queen Maxine tonight like holy shit she just created the best episode from this year so far and single handedly murdered the whole fandom.
Charity and Vanessa are GIRLFRIENDS, Dr Boring is GONE, AARON DINGLE AND ROBERT SUGDEN ARE HUSBANDS ONCE AGAIN AND EVERYTHING IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!!
