If Harry came to Remus for advice on shutting down Skeeter’s heteronormativity in interviews, Remus would tell him that the first thing he should do is act oblivious.

Example: “So, Harry. What was it like to see your best friend and your girlfriend floating like the dead at the bottom of the lake, only for your girlfriend to be saved by another man?” “They were dead? I thought they were sleeping?!?” “You’re drifting from the main point–” “Holy fucking shit what the FUCK WHAT THE HELL IS THIS TOURNAMENT” *runs screaming out of the room*

The second thing Remus would tell him to do is ask Skeeter vehemently about his crush(es).

Example: “So, Harry. How devastated are you that Krum is taking Hermione to the Yule Ball?” “About as much as a gnome in an unattended garden. The REAL question is what are Cedric and Cho wearing to the ball.” “I don’t kn–” “You don’t KNOW didn’t you interview them before me??!” “Well yes but–” “Holy fuck are you a real trash interviewer or not GIMMETHEDEETSWOMAN!!?”

The third and final thing Remus would tell Harry to do is to be as fucking obvious as possible.

Example: “So, Harry. You would be number one if it weren’t for that dastardly Cedric. Will you attack your fellow Hogwartsian boy hero in the maze to enhance your odds and impress all the girls?” “Honestly? Yeah. I’ll attack him the second I see him. Remus Lupin in first year having a huge crush on Frank Longbottom and feeling weird about it, but then he’s kind of just like “I’m a werewolf why am i worrying about who i like oh man i have bigger shit to deal with” but it still bothered him a lot. The crush doesn’t last long but he still he wonders //why// he liked him

Second year and Remus hearing rumours about Dumbledore being gay and people gossiping about it and he feels bad because he’s thinking “why. is liking boys a bad a thing. why is everyone making a big deal about it. what is happening w h a t”

Lily Evans having a huge crush on him in third year and being super obvious about it. Sending him Valentine’s Day cards and chocolates  and doodling “Mrs. Lily Lupin” in her notebooks, and not being ashamed about it. They get partnered up for a Potions project and they study in the library and Lily asks him if he wants to go to Hogsmeade sometime and Remus is kind of just “um..you’re not exactly…my type” and Lily just asks, right away, “you like boys, don’t you?” and Remus doesn’t know why, but he tells the truth. “yes. sort of.” “and you don’t like girls?” “i don’t know actually. i haven’t figured that part out yet” “can i help you?” “how?” “like this?” and Lily kisses him right there and remus is nodding like “okay, so maybe i /do/ like girls” “but not me” “sorry” “it’s okay you’re not a good kisser anyway” and they’ve been best friends ever since
