I have had so much fun with this series! I hope you all have enjoyed my horror/angst twist on these prompts! I have loved and appreciated all the wonderful comments I've gotten as I stepped out of my comfort zone, y'all are so sweet!
A huge shout out to @ihavethreetimdrakeblogs on tumblr for making this Billytober prompt list, it has been a blast trying out flash fiction and fostering a few plot bunnies I haven't gotten to explore in other fics!
Warning: satanic ritual
Story below the cut ✂️
Billy stood in the center of their summoning circle, holding his hands above his head, palms up in supplication. His arms were covered in symbols meant to channel the powers of his chosen patrons, just as their books had told them.
They had argued amongst themselves for weeks, but ultimately it was decided that out of all of them, Billy had the greatest chance of surviving the ritual, of withstanding the influences of the beings they were calling forth. He would be their center, their tether, their rock. He would be their salvation.
At the edge of the circle, Mary lit the first candle. Her eyes never left Billy’s face. Her voice never wavered. He got the distinct feeling the she was memorizing his face, just in case.
“I call upon the strength of Satan,” she recited.
She passed the lighter to Pedro. He took it delicately in his shaking hands. Then he leaned down and lit his own candle. He had never thought this was a good idea, but he wouldn’t stop them. And he wouldn’t let them do it alone.
“I call upon the indestructible body of Aym.”
Eugene all but tore the lighter from his hands, his expression set in determination. He didn’t need to look at their books, already having memorized the part he would play. This had been his idea after all, his plan to rid them of the monsters that plagued their city, their home.
“I call upon the wisdom of Belial.”
He thrust the lighter towards Freddy and only then did Billy see the fear in his face. Freddy took it and held it for a beat longer than he had to. He looked like he wanted to say something, like he wanted to give Billy one last out before they did this. But he kept his mouth pressed into a thin line, staring into the flame as his candle flickered to life.
“I call upon the flames of Beelzebub.”
Darla trembled from head to toe as she took the lighter. She fumbled with it a few times before she could get it to light—Billy wished he could go to her, help her, but the ritual demanded they stay in place, especially him. The five points of the star, the sacrifice in the middle. She swallowed hard, turning her terrified eyes to look up at Billy. His heart suddenly ached. He wished she didn’t have to be a part of this.
“I-I call upon the courage of Asmodeus,” she whispered.
With all the candles lit and in place around the circle, Billy dropped his arms just long enough to raise his own candle above his head, still unlit as it was.
With all the confidence he could manage he called out, “I call upon the flight of Crataeis.”
His candle burst to life, a reddish orange light flowing from the points on the circle where his siblings stood towards him. The room—dark and dilapidated as it was—grew brighter as their light coalesced around him.
As one they shouted out the word of power, the word that would seal the ritual, the word that would make him no longer human.
Some might work, some might suck, just gonna list stuff (Some connected to significantly disliked stuff in DC's history), I'm not expecting anything to be perfect, I'm tired and bored on a 13 hour long bus ride.
Heist movie/plot, bringing back the character of Daniel West to have on their crew.
Spin-off media focused on DC villains framed like true crime documentaries (only without the understandable controversy and the people being weird about real life serial killers).
Have someone list people connected to the red/the morphogenetic field, have said listing include Patience Phillips (Aka the Catwoman from the 2004 movie).
Faux'bo actually being a bizarro style imperfect Czarnian clone.
John Constantine getting a flatmate roomate that's basically him, but instead of the supernatural they work exclusively with aliens and sci-fi shit.
Since we had the Batman Below, I propose an eldritch league, with the twist that instead of being a horror beyond human comprehension, the Clark equivalent is positivity beyond human comprehension.
Progressing in the practice to become the wizard's successor, Billy ends up creating a brand new power acronym for someone, granting them temporary access to a unique power set comprised of of other beings thanks to the rock of eternity (think of the variety of combinations for Shazam, as well as the combinations for Sabbac and Ibac, power acronyms vary a lot, he'd have to start small tho, so it would be more similar to Ibac).
Reveal fighters with League of Assassins training (Including Lady Shiva) are all immune to truth serum (I think it would be a very valuable skill for any of them), this could be a more recent addition to the training or something Bruce was simply not made aware of.
I've been thinking about the Freeman Brothers a lot lately; Kit Freeman (Kid Eternity), Freddy Freeman (Captain Marvel Jr--he needs a new name), and Tim Karnes (SABBAC). Their lives and how they became separated are pretty tragic when you think about it.
Anyway.
I drew them (my redesigns!)
I plan to write about them eventually when this semester is done kicking my behind. (Tim Karnes, especially, is getting a full revamp and lore makeover).
Sabbac has had a few incarnations over the years, his initial version being 1943's Timothy Karnes, a former foster brother of Freddy Freeman who was empowered by six demons to become an anti-Captain Marvel, similar to Black Adam or Ibac. He has been reinvented here and there as a mob boss named Ishmael Gregor or as a member of Intergang's Kahndaq branch in the Black Adam movie.
In an adaptation, honestly, the Black Adam movie covered him the best way I might. Maybe a way to shake it up would be to have Billy and Adam work together in a movie to defeat him, maybe with Isis and Osiris gaining their powers in the same movie. If he's Freddy's brother, I suppose he'd be a teen, but the more adult version could be someone like Sammy Sheik, especially if we have him be from Kahndaq.
