On, a freezing cold winters night, there’s only two dishes one could find comfort in. The first being a steaming plate of stew and dumplings in a rich, robust gravy. Filling and nourishing at the same time it’s a dish that is versatile and a crowd pleaser. The other, is a steaming bowl of creamy chicken soup, fresh off the stove and served alongside some freshly baked, sourdough bread lathered in salted butter. And that is the dish that made it onto my dinner table the other night. However, I do have to come clean. The soup, as delicious as it was, wasn’t homemade. Lovingly opened and poured fresh from a Heinz tin.
