Day 156 Miles Completed: 5.8 Total Mileage: 751.8/2018 #katieruns2018 Status: Behind Friends, today marks day one of my commitment to completing the #whole30!! The above photos will be my before photos. I look super thrilled don’t, I? 😂😂 But I am actually really excited! For those of you that don’t know, the Whole30 is supposed to change the way you look at food. It resets your metabolism and allows you to explore exactly what food groups affect your day to day well-being. Honestly, it’s a lot like what it sounds like - a commitment to eating nothing but whole foods for 30 days. This means, I won’t be consuming dairy, added sugar, grains, legumes (goodbye for now peanut butter 😢), anything overly processed or with unnatural additives or alcohol 🍻. Meal-prepping and planning is going to be my best friend and I have spent the last three days getting ready for the first week! 😂😂 To be fair, part of that was related to research I won’t have to do again in the coming weeks. My favorite part about the Whole30??? You aren’t allowed to weigh yourself during the program or count your calories! Your focus is supposed to be on the way eating whole foods makes you feel. It’s not necessarily a big weight-loss diet, but research shows it can produce more energy, better moods and a happier digestive tract. All that being said, let’s talk goals! I’m not putting myself through this for nothing, after all. I am hoping the program helps with some of the puffiness around my abs (based on my research that seems to be a common result). But I am also hoping to run faster and further with ease! 🤞🤞 Starting weight: 149 Starting Average Mile Pace: 9:45/mile Wish me courage and consistency as the weeks move forward. Day one was successful. Here’s to a successful day two! 🍻🍻 #running #runnersofinstagram #runtheyear2018 #runtheedge #speedday #whole30 #whole30day1 #rwrunstreak #before #beforephotos #goals #healthyliving #wishmeluck #heregoesnothing
