Miniature Superman Red 068 Experienced DC Heroclix Collateral Damage RARE
Recently bought a bunch of Superman art from this dope artist (@ radmanrbarr on Instagram) and had to reshuffle some things so I could put these beautiful prints on my Superman wall. My favorite is his twist on the old comics rack header cause it features all my favorite characters!
The Superman Collection
From my post earlier today, I realized just how much Superman stuff I have in my collection. Superman: The Man of Steel; the last son of Krypton who would forever change the state of the world both in the imagination and surreal world from the comic medium he was created and in a physical sense in his growth as such an iconic symbol. Whether he symbolizes hope of freedom or the indomitable will and spirit of the American people, Superman is a god. Now, I don't believe in gods; however, this character has still been one of the most influential characters to affect me. There is something about Clark Kent that really resonated with me (and it wasn't just the powers of the cool uniform), but the idea that he was an alien saving us from ourselves and the immeasurable threats thrown against us. Looking through my collection, I can see that I have collected many graphic novels (classics like "Red Son", "All Star Superman", and "The Death of Superman" and newer New 52 titles) and films the showcase the big ol' Boy Scout. I have also collected Kal El's closest allies, greatest enemies, and even different versions of the Man of Steel himself. In the 75 years of Superman (technically 76 now), I am glad to know that this character continues to grow and inspire others. I specifically purchased the new deluxe Superman Unchained story today in celebration. With that, I'd like to end this post with a very important quote found all over Tumblr. It is from a redditor who describes what the Man of Steel means to him or her: "Superman. It’s always been Superman and it always will be. A good Superman story is hard to find. They’re rare to the point that I can make a comprehensive list of them off the top of my head. But when one does come along… A good Batman story is entertaining and bad ass. All the while, truly believing something only an impossible man could believe. “If you knew how you are loved, not one of you would raise a hand in rage again.” There’s a psychology to storytelling. It’s really quite simple. When presented with something light, we look for darkness. When presented with darkness, we look for the light. It gives a story depth. In a world without a Superman, we made one for our fiction. To guide us and make us feel brave. To let us hope. You will believe a man can fly."
