Picked me up by the scruff last night and forced me to go to bed
hi & hope you have a nice day!
i have a problem. im a very busy and low-energy person. also - i might have ADHD, so it's hard for me to focus.. that's why 3 of my attempts to make or develop a tulpa ended in nothing, because I've hit a new chapter of my life and could not use my energy on something that isn't work/education/basic daily tasks.
but I'm thinking about starting again. do you maybe have some ideas on how to stay focused and stuff? anything at all would help me greatly
also - when i direct my mindspeaking towards a tulpa, i feel a little bit of tension in one part of my head. I've come to associate it with "i direct my voice in the correct way, and my tulpa is listening". do you have anything similar, or have you heard of this anywhere?
Hi there! I actually think that's a common experience. It sounds like the headpressure a lot of tulpamancers describe in the process.
We're advanced enough in communication that I don't think that happens, exactly, but there usually is a feeling of a presence when a headmate is listening in. It's difficult to describe what it feels like exactly though.
Anyway, it does sound like you're on the right track!
As far as staying focused goes, you might be interested in looking into apps to improve productivity, like Habitica, and reward yourself for spending time with your tulpa.
some more drawings i did of myself. i like to listen to kero kero bonito when i draw
dont know why your blog came in my dash but tulpa is a breach of a CLOSED cultural/religious practice. most internet tulps are stepping on a very fine line of cultural appropriation.
if you wanna go by another name? sure thats probably the best thing but come off it buddy.
I don't think I've ever seen a solid source suggesting the practice tulpamancy is based on is actually closed.
When the question was asked in r/Buddhism a while back, at most people were saying it might be dangerous to people without training, but didn't seem to feel it was culturally offensive to do so.
🤣
Tulpa systems are endogenic systems!
As for staying in "my little corner of the internet"... you know... I don't think I will. 🤪 I'd much rather branch out. To everywhere. I'll be talking about plurality in disability spaces. (Specifically ASD a lot since we're autistic.) LGBT spaces. Even fandom spaces. Maybe especially fandom spaces
I plan to be omnipresent.
If you want to keep DID and OSDD spaces? You can have them. Well, at least, I won't touch them much personally. There are a lot of mixed origin systems out there with DID and OSDD who are just as entitled to those communities as you are.
But I'm going to be focusing most of my attention on claiming every other space I can get my hands on.
Can you explain about P-DID please? Everything you know about it. Thank you!
I don't really know much about it. It's a new diagnosis in the ICD-11 that came out in 2019 that's basically DID but with little or no switching.
You can find the full diagnostic criteria here:
Outside of that, there really isn't much info I've been able to gather on it.
r/fdc people gonna be shocked when they learned our therapist as part of therapy... taught us, how to have a bit of communication and lesser our amnesia slightly. It's almost like, when you're aware of the system you have the ability to work on it to make it more functional- versus with no awareness being super confusing as to "huh why did I do that- that was so weird I would never do that and I don't remember- eh oh well maybe I was just a little silly goofy"
Additionally there is literally a type of alter or function in DID systems that exists... specifically to act as a memory bank. This is common in polyfragmented DID systems and is why they get confused for OSDD very often. Most pf-DID systems we know including ourselves, originally thought they had OSDD and not DID because they remembered very basic stuff. Turns out we personally do not actually remember a lot- we just have factual knowledge like as if we read a bullet point list.
I just wish people better understood things- and didn't try and convince young disordered systems that their healing and ability to function well and be happy within their own being is impossible. We aren't super far in our healing ourself but we have gotten better- and we have gone from 0 communication to easy communication within subsystems after a few months of work to be able to do so. It may take longer for some others- and there could also be more reasons there's a block- but you will be able to get there eventually. As much as it sucks to be at the early stages- you can be happy you can do well.
Thank you for sharing your experiences!
One of the most dangerous things about a lot of the disinformation from r/systemscringe and r/fakedisordercringe is just how deeply anti-recovery they are.
Fakeclaiming is always bad but these cringe subreddits go even worse by tying aspects of recovery to their fakeclaiming. Communication is integral to lessening dissociative barriers. When those barriers are healed, it makes memories easier to access and share. But denial makes these barriers worse.
What's insidious about these groups is that they poison people's minds in such a way that every step towards recovery triggers denial which in turn sets back recovery, locking victims in a vicious loop.
It's really funny when I'm enabled to completely fluster my boyfriend. Ended up calling him "babydoll" thanks to a server bit and he broke. Winning. Also we cuddled :)
