omni-manipulation: the user can manipulate anything and everything. this is can range from being in the physical (matter, energy, space-time, dimensions, forces, etc); to the metaphysical (soul, mind, life, death, logic, aspects of reality, destiny/fate, magic, science, and even concepts) along with many others. the user has complete control and precision over absolutely everything and whatever is beyond. there is nothing imaginable and unimaginable that the user cannot perfectly manipulate and alter to their will or what their mind desires and are capable of mixing and warping. these users are seen to wield a more simplified form of omnipotence and therefore able to be practically almighty and all-powerful. as the user is capable of manipulating everything that ever was, everything that is or ever will be, can or ever would be and beyond, they are essentially omnipotent, or indistinguishable from it to anything except an omnipotent entity.
omnicompetence: the user is an unparalleled and unmatched problem-solver, fast learner and sharp thinker who can handle all kinds of situations and matters with an unrestricted clarity of thoughts and foresight, quickly and effortlessly pick up and develop the requisite skills, knowledge, intuition, awareness, ingenuity, instincts, insights, mindset, capability and experience for any/every scenario, which also leads to excel at any chosen area, field or domain with ease. they possess a keen judgment to always discern the right actions and strategies needed to succeed at any task no matter how difficult it is supposed to be, knowing exactly what they need to do and how they need to do it, and an innate ability to successfully navigate through all conflicts, challenges, and situations with competency while figuring out all their layers and depths. their mental prowess ensures they think and operates with ultimate efficiency and competence at all times, as they naturally identify ways to triumph or evade any situation, detect any potential problems and all their possible solutions and effortlessly gather any type of knowledge, utilizing circumstances to their utmost advantage and consistently making optimal decisions across various facets of every scenario. the whole process of understanding, mastering and solving is just a second nature to their insightful minds that require absolutely no effort, all which allows them to never be helpless or face defeat.
omni-status: the user has, is, enters or exists in all states/states of being at one time, as such they can be simultaneously doing all possible and impossible things/actions together despite the various contradictions such a situation would imply. all states can include standing/moving, living/dead, immortal/amortal, existant/nonexistant, being/non-being, real/unreal, created/destroyed, self-created/eternal, certain/uncertain, whole/separate, assembled/disassembled, deceased/resurrected, damaged/healed, flawed/flawless, alive/dead, transcendent/immanent, known/unknown, static/mutable, and all other possible and impossible states regardless of their nature. since the user exists in this paradoxical form, they may be distinct from the rest of creation/existence even if they can still interact with it despite their nature.
omnifarious: the user has complete and absolute control over their own physical being, allowing them to manipulate their shape, density, size, quantity or to be solid, liquid, gaseous, or pure energy. they can spread their form into smaller segments that keep their ability to transform and recombine as they wish. the user can take any form that they can imagine, independently from the laws of physics and logic. they aren't immune to external alterations, but can change back instantly, rendering such efforts meaningless. their mind remains immune to all external alterations and is as flexible as their body while still remaining whole and fully functional even if their body is separated into millions of smaller parts acting independently with the same exact of power. while external/environmental effects can affect users, they can simply take a form more adapted to the dangers and thus ignore most dangers or simply reform themselves.
omnipotence: omnipotence is a quality most commonly attributed to deities in monotheistic religions. the concept of omnipotence has been represented in a myriad of vastly different ways - pantheism: where being omnipotent is synonymous with being one with everything, agnosticism: which postulates that god and the omnipotence it possesses is incomprehensible, monotheism: where there can only be omnipotent being, etc. - all of which have differing views on the attributes of omnipotence and hence their 'level of power'. some philosophers claim that omnipotence can do that which is only confined within the realms of human logic, while others claim that omnipotence can do anything and everything, no matter how contradictory. however, due to the nature of this concept, the existence of omnipotence is impossible to prove, much less fictional characters possessing omnipotence.
omniarch: the user rule and reign over anything and everything, as such, the user has absolute supremacy and absolute control over all in existence and beyond as if they were their servants, completely changing anything by simply issuing a command. they have boundless dominion and lordship over the infinite and ineffable, rewriting universal laws and concepts on a whim, creating and destroying multiverses by simply commanding it. this also includes individual entities and beings, turning even the most powerful figures, like cosmic beings, deities, and even anti-gods into their puppets and servants, making them do their work as a lord would to their people as they are even transcend an entity beyond the concept of dimensionality.
omni-negation: the user can negate, nullify, and completely erase any/all aspects of existence across every conceivable dimension and reality. this power transcends conventional categories, providing the absolute dominion over the fabric of the universe and beyond. with omni-negation, the user can erase fundamental concepts like time, space, life, death, reality, and existence itself, removing their very essence from all realities. no power, ability, or force, no matter how complex or cosmic, can withstand this ability, as it can render anything void and non-existent. the user becomes immune to anything and everything, as they can nullify universal definitions, laws, boundaries, logic, and any force that might oppose them. omni-negation allows for the complete erasure of anything from the smallest idea to the most expansive multiverse. It is so absolute that it defies all logic and reason, making the user a being of unparalleled power, capable of reshaping or obliterating existence on a whim. this ability is able to negate all layers of resistances/immunities.
omni-psionics: omni-psionics is the ability to possess and utilize every conceivable form of psionic and mental power. it grants unparalleled versatility, allowing the user to master telepathy, telekinesis, precognition, empathy, and countless other psychic abilities. through this vast arsenal of powers, they can influence minds, manipulate physical matter, perceive distant events, and interact with realms beyond ordinary understanding. the scope of omni psionics is broad, enabling feats such as creating vivid illusions, interfacing with technology, and even altering biological processes. however, these powers operate within natural or advanced limits and are not inherently infinite or at their ultimate potential.
omnilingualism: the user can genuinely flawlessly speak, write, read, understand and communicate in any and every language, including computer codes, dead languages, extinct languages, the universal language of mathematics and music, languages that have never been heard before, sign language (even lip-reading), illegible words, and backwards speech and writing with little or no training. the user may even communicate with non-human animals or read body language.
omnificence: users possess the unlimited ability to create absolutely anything imaginable, transcending boundaries to create concepts, existence, reality and even totality itself. their creative power knows no bounds: they can create out of nothing, transform one thing into another, conjure up comic-book images, bring a dead person to life, duplicate anything and manufacture essentially anything they desire on an infinite scale.
omniscience: the ability to possess infinite knowledge within the broader context of one's reality or universe. it represents the highest level of understanding, encompassing all information without limitation. it's important to note that there are various manifestations and expressions of this formidable power: selective omniscience: the user's mind is capable of knowing potentially anything and everything and has the capacity to filter what they choose to know, selectively picking topics of interest according to the situation. they can objectively be omniscient at their whim, making this a controllable form of it. also doubles as a lesser form of the ability, making it as they are knowledgeable of effectively everything at the cost of not being aware of all there's to possibly know on information unrelated to knowledge accessible or picked upon. this omniscience is either subjective or objective. total/complete omniscience: usually knowing it all, regardless of time and/or probable factors, actually fully knowing the entirety of it. the user has no filter or restrictions to their knowledge, having it at all times.

Researchers at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) in Brazil have discovered that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, uses a sophisticated tactic to evade the human body's defense system. In addition to its ability to evade the immune system before invading the host cell, which is common to other viruses, SARS-CoV-2 acts on a second front by manipulating the host cell's genetic material in a way never before seen in other pathogens.
The study, published in the journal Nucleic Acids Research Molecular Medicine and supported by FAPESP through a Thematic Project and a postdoctoral fellowship , describes how the virus interacts with the RNA of infected lung cells in an unprecedented way.
"SARS-CoV-2 doesn't mess around. It interacts with the host cell in an extremely sophisticated and direct manner, manipulating its genetic material like no other pathogen does. We discovered that, through a very sophisticated pairing mechanism, the virus's RNA interacts with different types of RNA in the infected cell, interfering with the functioning of the cellular machinery and blocking the production of interferon, one of the main antiviral defenses," explains Marcelo Briones , coordinator of the Center for Medical Bioinformatics at the São Paulo Medical School (EPM-UNIFESP) and coordinator of the research.
According to Briones, although this is a fundamental biology study, the discovery may influence our understanding of the disease and the development of vaccines and treatments in the future. "This changes our understanding of the virus and of RNA viruses and paves the way for new prevention and treatment strategies. We've shown that SARS-CoV-2 protects itself through methylation, that is, by modifying its RNA with a methyl group. In theory, this could enable the development of antivirals that inhibit the enzymes responsible for this RNA modification," Briones explains to Agência FAPESP.
Weakened immune response
SARS-CoV-2 is an RNA virus, meaning it does not have a DNA genome, and it has a high capacity for mutation. "This doesn't mean that they're simpler viruses; quite the contrary. Our study showed that RNAs interact with both invading virus molecules and molecules that are extremely important for the immune response, which is extremely interesting from a fundamental biology point of view," he says.
In their work, Cristina Peter and Caio Cyrino identified that SARS-CoV-2 exposes its RNA to the cellular environment as soon as it penetrates cells, promoting connections with a specific type of RNA – long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) – to circumvent the initial immune response of human cells. The virus quickly establishes connections with lncRNAs, such as UCA1, GAS5, and NORAD, upon invading the cell. These lncRNAs are important regulators of interferon signaling, which is a key component of innate antiviral defense.
During this process, a chemical modification occurs that the scientists call N⁶-methyladenosine (m⁶A) methylation. This process destabilizes RNA structures and hinders the classic pairing between the amino acid bases adenine (A) and uracil (U). "Our main hypothesis is that methylation destabilizes double-stranded RNA structures, promoting Hoogsteen-type pairings, which are less stable and can interfere with interactions between RNAs and, consequently, with interferon signaling, which impairs the immune response," Briones explains.
He adds that this structural change reduces the binding time of lncRNAs to their main targets, such as microRNAs (miRNAs), thereby weakening their regulatory function. "In the study, we identified the lncRNA UCA1 as a central player exhibiting a complex pattern of reduced expression and increased methylation. It interacts directly with both the viral genome and components of the interferon pathway," the researcher explains.
The study used Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology, which allows for the direct, real-time analysis of long fragments of RNA or DNA. This technology works by monitoring changes in an electric current as nucleic acids – the molecules that make up genetic material – pass through a protein nanopore. The resulting signal is decoded to determine the specific RNA sequence.
This result can then be immediately compared to a genetic sequencing database to identify various pieces of information, such as the species to which the material being studied corresponds. Using machine learning techniques, the researchers measured the overall increase in methylation in cells. Mathematician Fernando Antoneli and Nilmar Moretti participated in the work.
Briones says that the next steps will be to validate the computational analysis data experimentally. "Now the bench work begins to confirm the mechanisms we observed," the researcher concludes.

hey, I really love in your GOT fics especially your sense of military strategy and idk... kingdom building for lack of a better word? and I was wondering if there's any particular sources or histories you read that helped you develop how a sense of that would work.

A caveat here: I have spent literally decades reading history for both research and for fun, and I am terrible at remembering titles, so I wouldn't say these are particular sources. Also, I note that as a storyteller, I'm not especially interested in realism. I read history for illumination and inspiration, not to use as a model.
All that said, here are a handful of sources that I love and happen to remember as I type:
The Art of War by Sun Tzu (many versions out of copyright and available via project gutenberg).
Everything written by Barbara Tuchman who is probably my single favorite writer of history.
A Military History & Atlas of the Napoleonic Wars -- I think this will be tough to process if you don't first read several histories of the Napoleonic era to give you an understanding of the period and events, but it's a peerless book for learning how to translate historical descriptions of battles into a more grounded understanding of where and how the soldiers involved actually were and how they moved and interacted.
Nelson's Navy is also a great reference work for Age of Sail, as is the period source A Young Sea-Officer's Sheet Anchor, which is also out of copyright but worth getting in a printed version for the illustrations.
Podcasts/videos: Fall of Civilizations is fantastic, The History of English (as in, the history of the English language) & The History of Rome are also great. If you're willing to shell out for a membership to Great Courses for long enough, the 48-episode History of Egypt by Bob Brier is also wonderful.
I also highly recommend the heavily moderated AskHistorians subreddit which is a great rabbit hole in which to lose three days where you should have been writing. :P

I only watched The Fall Guy like two days ago and I was immediately really annoyed in retrospect about all the people mischaracterizing him for the twins au, specifically designating him "the dumb twin" Everyone loves a good contrast like that, I get it ig, but it's so much more interesting to me when twins aren't stark opposites. Anyway, Colt is pretty smart in the movie
Sometimes I'll see people make discussion of "dumb" characters and talk about how they do have smarts in some areas, but have developed a self consciousness around their intelligence because none of their smarts is relavent to schooling and testing environments. Smarts like strategy, improvisation skills, and deductive reasoning are smart skills that aren't necessary encouraged or inspected in school, but which are traits that Colt actively possesses in the movie. Even though these are things that people often bring up in reference to "dumb characters" I haven't actually seen anyone talk about it in relation to Colt specifically (maybe I just missed that discussion). I have seen people write him thinking back to when he was in school, and getting very contrasting grades to his brother
But I ALSO just have reason to believe he would have tested fine in school, if not actively well. Him and Dan play their little memorization game with the movie lines. His "nihilism's a viable worldview" thesis may have canonically been a surface level reading of the text, but it's absolutely something a teacher would accept. Also he was put pretty on the spot about it. He'd have gotten decent grades back in school imo. And maybe he'd be the dumb twin in contrast, sure, but people really crank it up.
"You need carbs! Your brain runs on glucose! For simple cognitive functions, you need them!" <- not the sentiment nor vocabulary of an idiot. But I think because he got into a dangerous field people decided that he's reckless and typecast him as an idiot, even though there are also several instances where he's very hesitant to pull some of the actions that he does on account of the danger and only goes through with them because of the stakes
PREACHING my man Colt Seavers is SMART
There’s a problem just in general of mob mentality, status quo, systemic ideals yadda yadda whatever. If someone sees an academically smart person in a classic way (ie Grace being a scientist) they are going to dumb down the others around them to make the academic seem smarter.
Colt is smart in a million different ways. He shows them off brilliantly in the movie. He’s got great emotional intelligence, enough to fully admit to his faults and take responsibility for them. He has good emotional reasoning to things, a good understanding of others. He also takes the safety of his job very seriously. Him noting that the sand’s density was off and that it was going to cause issues with the take. He offers a solid solution very quickly, showing his experience in his field. At several points in the movie, we can see him making direct, fast calculations on how to approach his situation carefully.
We even hear his thought process out loud once!!! When he’s high as shit, talking about getting hit by a car!!! He’s talking through the safest way possible he could go about that, even getting a mouth guard out so he doesn’t shatter his teeth from the impact.
What does the fandom do?? They make Ryland part of that lmao.
People get overexcited to be a part of something. Hence why everyone jumped onto bloodymary and you see people saying “oh I haven’t watched both/either of the movies” and making inaccurate assumptions about the characters and their lives.

In 2018, Peña and his fellow campesinos began the process of creating a peasant reserve zone (ZRC), a designated land-use area aimed at safeguarding rural communities, supporting local farmers and stabilising their territories amid conflict that remains ongoing despite the 2016 ceasefire.
Reserve zones have been at the heart of President Gustavo Petro’s plans to improve farmers’ livelihoods while tackling deforestation and protecting biodiversity in the Amazon. During the past four years, his government has created 20 of the 27 existing zones.
The Colombian government officially approved the request for a ZRC in 2025. But Petro’s presidential term is coming to an end and a far-right candidate, Abelardo de la Espriella, is competing with the leftwing Iván Cepeda in a highly polarised election. Farmers such as Peña fear for the future of the ZRCs if the far right wins in the second round on 21 June.
De la Espriella won the first round by a narrow margin over Cepeda on 31 May. The run-off election will show whether Colombians support a continuation of Petro’s policies, based on dialogue and reform, or return to a hardline militarised strategy proposed by De la Espriella.
Like many others, Peña was drawn to Guaviare by a surge in coca leaf production in Colombia. A few years later, he bought his first plot of land – which lacked title deeds. The price: a kilo of coca paste.
The land Peña occupied was within a forest reserve, further complicating property rights under Colombian law. According to the ministry of agriculture, before the peace treaty this was not an exceptional situation, as at least 40% of rural land in Colombia lacked formal titles.
With the “war on drugs” and intensive programmes to eradicate plantations in Colombia, many farmers, including Peña, who had been growing coca leaves shifted to raising cattle, leading to increased deforestation. Between 2002 and 2025, Guaviare lost 350,000 hectares (865,000 acres) of forest – an area nearly five times the size of Singapore.
Some ZRCs have become more sustainable, however. In Calamar, the Guardian of Chiribiquete, a peasant reserve covering 183,200 hectares and supporting 4,430 people, was officially established in 2025. It is named after the nearby Chiribiquete national park, a Unesco world heritage site, which has inspired the community’s efforts to develop sustainable economies.
ZRCs are essentially a mechanism for bringing farmers into the institutional framework and away from armed groups’ territorial control, but they have also had a positive impact on the environment when followed by investments in sustainable development, according to Camilo González Posso, founder of Indepaz, a peacebuilding NGO, and a former government peace negotiator.
“The law requires that these zones create sustainable development plans in collaboration with institutions, while the government has a commitment to contributing to the development of sustainable economies through investment and programmes,” González Posso says.
Within the Guardian of Chiribiquete, almost half of the native forest remains intact. Community members work to protect the area while planting native trees and Amazonian fruits, such as cacao and copoazú, to generate income.
Supported by organisations such as the conservation charity WWF and the reforestation programme Visión Amazonía, residents have been establishing plant nurseries, restoring waterways and receiving training in woodworking.
“Although we live in a hidden corner of the country, we understand the damage caused to nature, and we are trying to compensate for the damage caused without affecting our economies,” says Leydy Janneth García, a representative of the conservation project Green Amazon.
García and her family arrived in Guaviare in 2018 after fleeing conflict. They bought land previously used for coca cultivation and planted cacao, which thrived as the coca trees withered. On the other hand, the prospect of a rightwing administration is even more concerning for experts such as González Posso. De La Espriella supports fracking and intends to expand its use, leading to fears about the impact on the environment and local communities. He has also urged Colombia to withdraw from the UN, which could impact international investment in rural initiatives and peace efforts.
“De la Espriella links development to extractivism, supporting an extensive livestock model and benefiting the wealthy landowners,” he says.
González Posso fears that a far-right administration could bring more violence, not just from armed groups. He says farmers are likely to resist being expelled from their lands to benefit the agroindustry, and guerrillas would be empowered by extensive livestock farming, which is more lucrative, so they could increase extortion practices by charging landowners for each head of cattle and hectare of pasture, and imposing a fine for each hectare of deforested land.
“Cepeda aims to strengthen a sustainable economy created with and for the people. It’s crucial to develop a medium-term strategy that integrates ZRCs, peace initiatives and environmental considerations,” says González Posso.

Leclerc’s transformation occurred as an experimental effort by Ferrari to maximize their drivers’ physical reflexes. Other teams have already logged formal complaints. The FIA have yet to make their official decision, but an insider source insists that “there is nothing in the rulebook that dictates mice cannot compete in Formula 1”.
Ferrari boss Frederick Vasseur seemed quite pleased with the outcomes. When asked if the Monegasque driver could communicate over team radio while in mouse form, Vasseur responded that his team are presently working through solutions. He reassured Autosport that Ferrari’s mouseification process is ‘entirely reversible’, though it seems the subject of the transformation must be willing to undergo the process again - a task far more difficult to achieve with a vocabulary limited to squeaks.’

“‘GPDA Statement regarding “Mouseification’
As athletes, we wholeheartedly understand and support technological developments in revolutionising our sport. As such, we commend the efforts of the scientific and engineering minds behind Ferrari’s “mouseification” process. However, as the representative body of Formula 1 drivers, the GPDA must voice its concerns.
First, we must state that the Grand Prix Drivers Association does not exclude non-human members. Indeed, our purpose is to represent all drivers, including drivers who are mice. Should the FIA, stewards, or any other members of the governing bodies of our Sport single out our rodent co-competitors, it is within the duties of the GPDA to intervene.
Further, the GPDA would like to express concern for the ethics of turning drivers at the pinnacle of motorsport into common household animals. While the engineers of this technique have made assurances that it is reversible, we want to be 100% certain this is the case. Additionally, we want full confirmation that no driver should have to undergo a similar transformation without his or her express permission and consent, regardless of any competitive benefits it may provide.
Lastly, we would like to state on record that GPDA members who have been transformed into animals are willingly participating in the Sport, and that it is not considered animal cruelty. However, should a team force a driver to compete in animal form against their will, the parties involved will be liable for animal cruelty.
The GPDA wishes to be as collaborative and as forthcoming as possible with the stakeholders, teams, individuals, and governing bodies involved in these changes to the sport that we all hold dear.

Indeed, Leclerc has gone from success to success since the opening of the 2025 season. Within a week of claiming the top step in Melbourne, the Monegasque driver announced a new personal sponsorship and collaboration with none other than Parmigiano Reggiano — a match made in heaven, since Leclerc’s momentary mouse metamorphosis.
“It’s changed my outlook on racing,” he squeaked to his interpreter, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, at whose farm Leclerc has been rumoured to reside since his mouseification. “Being a mouse, it gives me more courage in the car to try things I wouldn’t be trying in previous seasons.”
This new perspective can be seen in how Leclerc carries himself, though he is only ten centimeters tall. When asked about his target for this season, he answered without hesitation: “To be world champion. This hasn’t changed. I am more certain than ever that this year it is possible.” The current points standings would not disagree. “No mouse has ever been world champion. It would mean a lot to the greater rodent community. It would mean a lot to me.”’
