My little display case is placed on top of a set of drawers, and the little guys get jostled up a bit when I open and close any of the compartments, but I'm choosing to believe this is Drift's and Deadlock's wills breaking through to our universe 🤭💕✨~
Your usual loud voice it ever so slightly grows softer, trembling, I can tell the difference
As always, you won't say a thing

Drift about Wing's Great Sword or smth
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works

... Their history was too defined by the physical, steeped in labored struggle and angst, for that to feel right. Drift deserved the ability to choose how he was touched, since he had little to no choice in the rest of their sparring relationship. ...
Wing seeks another way to get through to Drift, but he's troubled by the power imbalance and lack of agency that their current situation requires. When Drift scores his first win during a sparring match, Wing sees an opportunity to shift the narrative. Drift gets to decide what that means for them, if anything.
A different approach to "one thing leads to another during sparring", where Wing wants an equitable truce, and chooses tender, non-physical methods of offering. It works out better than he expected.
