If there was ever a Muslim culture based cookie are there any details you would want from the design and story of cookie

I mean, there's already Yogurca in CR:OB which has themes inspired by Muslim countries (I think also primarily South Asian with Lilac. Which would be cool except for horrible execution ) + it came out in Ramadan. I can't speak for everyone but I quite don't like what i've seen

But I guess this question is. For alternatives? That's a cool question, but it would be tricky.

I'd want the outfits to be less stereotypical. It wasn't the designs that made me as mad because I see stuff like that all the time in media, this isn't any different than what we usually get. I've seen some pretty cool fan-made designs and I think a Cookie with an actual hijab would be nice. a shalwar kameez ? something normal !

i want there to be a date-based cookie but there are like soooo many cuisines across the wide range of cultures this could be adapting so there would be some fun choices

I hated the weird way they made all the characters in the story sort of violent? Lilac is an assassin, Scorpion's poisonous and Peppercorn's trying to kill L for being a traitor, there was a bomb jelly set, oh Yogurt Cream's own brother is also trying to kill him (all off the top of my head) I don't know why everyone looks like belly-dancers and are also terrorists. But it feels wrong.

I guess I'd theoretically want DEVSISTERS to study and not make obviously dumb decisions but I don't think they can so. maybe they shouldn't try again

Want to make it's own post on what could be better alternatives for better Muslim representation, based from this post from @otterdragoncat

First things first, I don't have too much of a problem with the current designs of Yogurca but really feels bland and stereotypical. Every other region in cookie run has a well thought out design, covering the whole kingdom, but for Yogurca, the only thing that looks like food is the palace itself.

Let's brainstorm a bit

It be nice for them to implement more arabesque elements into their designs, use more geometrical shapes since that is often used in mosques.

Okay, you know what would be cool? If they make geometrical candy plants all over Yogurca, growing and paintings on the walls. Part of muslim culture is that we have to take care of plants, it is encouraged to plant trees and farm.

Some more green into the designs would be cool too (because that's our Prophet's SAW favourite colour), but the colours of Yogurca is nice, but more vibrant and natural colours would be nice.

I'm not too familiar with many foods in the middle eastern, but having date trees or animals that look like dates would be nice, some olives, some grapes.

And then maybe add in like beautiful oasis, beautiful nature atmosphere.

Okay, you know what would be cool? If Yogurca had great engineering features like in the City of Wizards. Believe it or not, mathematics and most engineering came from the great men in Islam. So having references to that, to help educate where those things actually came from is like a turning point.

As for cookies, I would like to see more friendly and gentle behaviours. Like the Kulfi in Kingdom! Subtly show the morals, principals and teachings we learn from Islam. Show better hospitality, show gentleness and kindness. Show strength in being good, and guiding those who are lost when any cookie comes to Yogurca.

Let them be proud of who they are, let them not be sketchy or barbaric and secretive.

Wouldn't it be cool to have an army of the cookies based on the great Ottoman Empire? Have a bunch of the cookies ride majestic horses, and have great skills in archery? It be so cool to have them all as skilled fighters too, but they are peacekeepers.

Another thing is that, I would appreciate if the designs were more covered too. Less skin showing to show muslim's modesty. Modesty is shown in other cultures, why not middle eastern?

Instead of designing all the characters like belly dancers, let's have some better designs like having a badass niqab woman who is an excellent stealth fighter. THAT'S COOL RIGHT? Come on.

Besides that, I would like for the men cookies to wear something more masculine and less feminine, it's okay to give them pretty features, but a more masculine and handsome attire would be more suitable.

Women cookies should always be covered up to their neck, you may design them with or without a headscarf/hijab. So more design ideas!

Limitation breeds creativity after all!

My yogurca redesigns i had planned to publish for ramadan but i got caught up with work :,^)

id thought that instead of yogurt being a lazy bum instead he would be like… just interested on buying rare books and on curating knowledge from other cookie countries as like a better role for him in the yogurca revamp hehe

so he is still uninterested in the family business he just has a hyperfixation in antiques and lost tomes n shit

uhhh lilac's role doesnt change because im a sucker for assassin falls in love with victim tropes rip but outfit more inspired by bharatanatyam rather than stereotypical sexy halloween costume

Ladies and gentlemen, we won yet again

My very precious pet fish @vanillaglitzz once again took the time to make another masterpiece for my birthday and I thought it would be a great disservice to everyone if it wasn't seen by the greater community.

the religious parallels of this work is quite impeccable, portraying the innocence and purity of Yogurt Cream Cookie, aware of the fate that awaits him while peacefully enjoying his supper, much like the attitude of Jesus in his final moments.

The tense atmosphere as he declares, "Verily I say unto you: one of you will betray me."

As his trusted bodyguard, Lilac Cookie, with determination in his eyes, immediately takes action to shield his beloved friend from the wrath of Centipede Cookie, who I'm sure is furious at the idea that she could possibly be the one who does the betraying after being betrayed herself by a certain duo in the room.

Lilac Cookie, who is originally tasked to betray Yogurt Cream Cookie himself, doesn't seem to be at all nervous. One can assume that he is so preoccupied with ensuring Yogurt Cream's safety, that he doesn't realize that he might very well be referring to Lilac Cookie himself.

On the opposite side, we can see Yogurt Cream Cookie's older brother, Plain Yogurt Cookie, whispering menacingly to the Scorpion Cookie seated next to him as he points his finger at his younger brother. Here, we must be familiar with the original work by Da Vinci's original work to fully grasp the artist's intention in the portrayal of Plain Yogurt.

In Da Vinci's original painting, the apostle Peter (in between Judas Iscariot and apostle John) is holding a knife in his hand, possibly to murder anyone who dares betray Christ. @vanillaglitzz's decision to omit this detail might point to Plain Yogurt Cookie's disinterest in getting his own hands dirty.

Lastly, Scorpion Cookie who looks the calmest among the chaos is in fact visibly in quite a bind as we see her eyes slightly open, showing her emerald green eyes, sneakily planning her next move.

Her hands being covered by her long sleeves, it is impossible to tell if she is ready to make a move.

As the time this supper is taking place is ambiguous, we can't tell whether Scorpion Cookie is yet to break off her contract with Plain Yogurt Cookie or not, which would explain why Plain Yogurt is seemingly whispering to her.

The intentional avoidance on the artist's part of portraying any specific character as Judas Iscariot, one can assume, is hinting at the fact that everyone at the table is slowly digging the grave of Yogurt Cream Cookie.

This piece is undeniably filled with countless references with which @vanillaglitzz points to the impending doom soon to befall Yogurt Cream Cookie by those who are closest to him.

genuinely do not know how to feel about the Yogurca cookies like I love Yogurt Cream and Scorpion Cookie, they're so silly but at the same time ew, cultural appropriation / misrepresentation mind you, I'm half cracker (white hispanic mix), so I don't feel like I'm the proper demographic that should criticize Yogurca, but still.

I feel like the Cookie Run fandom’s hypocrisy is most noticeable when it comes to Yogurca. I constantly see people state they don’t like Yogurca, but I only see hate towards Yogurca when it comes to Peppercorn Cookie and Centipede Cookie and not any of the other Yogurca cookies.
