I have a youtube (mostly dead, as no piano access) and a tiktok under the same username

I enjoy folk music the most, but who doesn't love a good shanty when you play a shanty instrument

I aim to first post previous videos of mine, tagged either piano or accordion, then I will post in tandem with my more active Tiktok. I do aim to get back to youtube, but my access to a piano is limited, and I can do things in the limited tiktok time with the accordion. For the sake of clarity, anything posted as old video will be 2022 and before.

I'll aim to do one-two videos a week updating progress and having fun along the way, these will be posted either one each on Thursday or Sunday, or on either one of those days.

As I slowly gain a following, please feel free to send me messages asking questions or putting in a request for me to learn.

discovering the queer country scene has honestly been so healing because most queer musicians i've seen recommended for years i just couldn't really connect with because it wasn't the sort of music i listened to or had investment in and with queer country it's like. yes. this is the language i speak in. this is Fuck You, I Belong Here Too, not just as a queer person in the country but as a rural person among (sub)urban queers, and saying it with a laugh. when will my hometown take pride in me, goddamn it

flamy grant (okay so. bible belt baby is Technically a christian album that i was tricked into listening to. but listen. what did you drag me into is an instant classic)

mercy bell (especially who said we were friends. i can't hear the lyric "mea culpa/here's a gulpa/my drink in your face" and NOT recommend it)

amythyst kiah (if you haven't heard black myself by now what even are you doing. go listen to it)

There ain't no possible way that I'd remember to listen to any of these artists on my own so I made a handy-dandy playlist on Spotify with an on-the-nose title for all the other cowpokes who need to save/bookmark something and come back to it later.

listening to fleetwood mac is like. i don’t know this song but let’s give it a shot. oh wait i do know this song. i’ve heard it a million times and always liked it, i just didn’t know the name. on some level i kind of assumed that song was just an ambient part of the world the way the sound of the wind or birdsong in the trees was but apparently it’s by fleetwood mac. neat.

Last night's video upload. 76 days of owning an accordion, having a background in piano and French horn. I'm using the Palmer-Hughes how to play series, but in the future I'm looking to either play by ear, or get additional accordion books to play and learn from. I've started shanty work, but it'll be a few weeks before I'm comfortable with that, but I'm still excited to play them for a wider audience :)

Old Video - piano

Here is my first publicly posted video, playing piano when I was with my parents in Florida. This was one of the first pieces I learned without an instructor :)

My piano videos are sadly mostly rough versions, but my aim is to have a rough version - one I'd happily play for my friends, with a few mistakes - and a polished version, which I'd play for an audience. When I return to this piece, I tend to practice the allegro e con brio part with a metronome, getting faster on repetition.
