About this blog

One day I'll make a proper pinned post but this is what you get for now.

Basically: this is my whump blog. There's whump here. Contains mature topics (duh), including but not limited to graphic violence and nsfwhump. You saw the description, you came in here anyway, try not to act shocked that there's whump at the whump shop.

I write a lot of fanfic and sometimes may even post it, and occasionally the original fiction bug bites me so watch out for that.

I try to keep a tidy tagging system but it's mostly for archiving. I also ramble in the tags.

Also, the queue iiiiis… very long. I schedule most of my own posts because I get weird about posting, reblogs, and tagging sometimes and this takes most of the anxiety out of it.

(Also also, if you see me hopelessly overusing the humble comma, no you didn't.)

I believe it is 100% valid to say that you don't like Lady Whump because your life experiences have been strongly associated with gendered violence, and I think it's 100% valid to not like lady whump at all, and I don't believe that individuals should provide any explanation whatsoever for this, but I find the commonly stated argument of: "Women are already suffering in all kinds of media, being pathetic and so on, and I don't want to repeat it in my writing" to be false: because, honestly speaking, are you comparing the dead wife trope, the damsel in distress trope, the trope of the crying woman without an autonomous participation in the narrative and the opportunity of a character development, without any kind of recognition obtained by that suffering, to Whump? The pity genre? The genre of literal blorbofication? The genre in which the entire narrative stops to cater to the needs of a singular individual who's suffering? Seriously?

hey remember that Enterprise episode where Trip was impregnated without his consent or even understanding the significance of what was happening to him and everyone made fun of him about it for the entire episode? was that fucked up or what?

Royal whump is a personal favorite of mine. So allow me to share one of my favorite tropes (that I may or may not be writing about in my free time)...

We all love a good public humiliation whump moment, right? So what I'm thinking is a royal whumpee that's been usurped by a traitorous advisor or taken over by a rival king and kept as a trophy/pet.

They are chained up, collared, leashed, and gagged/muzzled if you prefer, and they are being led through their old kingdom in front of what used to be their subjects. Or they're led through the streets of the rival kingdom they lost to while the subjects laugh at and ridicule them. They're dressed in a humiliating outfit that shows off way too much of their body and they're whipped whenever they walk too slow.

When they reach the town square, they are forced to kneel beside their new master as he addresses his people. As he degrades and mocks the former royal, they try to hide their face, but he yanks on their leash and forces them to look up. Maybe he even takes out their gag and forces them to address the people as well.

I'm sure this is already a fairly common trope, but I can't stop thinking about it. It's just so deliciously humiliating😈

Big fan of whump that has the threat of something worse in the background. Where, yes, we took you prisoner and you're in a cell but there's a worse hole in the bowels of the castle and you don't want to go there. Or yes, we're keeping you chained up but at least you have the freedom to move to the end of your chain, don't make us take that small freedom away.

A basement with worse torments nagging at the back of their mind the whole time; a tiny cage that their body remembers with long-held aches even when they're out of it again; a deterrent against fighting back that makes them doubt it's worth doing because they did it once and don't want to feel it again.

Anything that creeps steadily to the front of the mind when they wonder if it's worth being a nuisance, or not giving up what's asked. The terrible knowledge that this is bad, but that is worse, and the only way to shift the balance between this and that is pleasing those you don't want to please in the first place or facing the consequences. Such a thin and delicate line to tread, a mental presence that makes it hard to rest.

Caretaker just barely manages to stop whumper from assaulting whumpee and whumpee now has to pretend like this hasn't happened before (they don't want caretaker to feel bad for the many times they couldn't stop it)

There was no resisting when I came upon this quiet moment of anticipation during my reread, I just had to draw him still covered in blood from his *AHEM* incident, waiting for that first crack of the whip.

After a big fight with the rest of the group, Whumpee storms off and goes to the bar to drown their frustration and sorrows. When a flirty stranger ends up buying a few rounds for them and offers to take them somewhere more private, they readily agree. They’d rather not go home to the others right now and get yelled at for being drunk on top of everything else.  

That was days ago. Now the others are on a frantic search for them with no idea where to start.
