Life Update

Ah hello! Bright is here with a new update

I am very sorry for the long hiatus of this account, I kinda left tumblr for a while due to some personal reasons but here are some tech updates around my school

Scarf is no longer in tech class 😔 so he is no longer our SM

Our new SM is Tech Spy! Hes a new tech this year but is graduating along the 2020 class, he is the tech spy as he is also in Leadership

Our school musical is going good despite us not being done majority of act two and we go up last week of April (hhhhhh)

I got Lighting designer!

One acts went good i ended up stage managing two one acts and have been asked to come on as a lighting designer for one going to cities as theirs never shows up

Personal update from me is I started dating an actor (gasp), but even bigger news I am offically enrolled for Technical Theatre in university!

As Summer has started (as has my summer school class) I am not currently involved in tech till September, but starting August 1st I will be posting things I saved up for the summer once or twice a week!

Starting next school year I will hopefully post 3 times a week probably more during show weeks and months!

Sorry for not being on my show closed yesterday kinda sad but also relieved asf

Why?

The space we were in made me feel very unwelcome and disrespected as a tech. They treated us as if we didnt know what we were doing and also was quite rude to us the day we left the space

We may be highschool techs but Anti-Tech holds us to uni lighting standards. We know our shit.

So please remeber to treat highschool techs with respect, we all have the same job and it makes us feel like shit when you dont understand that.

Anyways I am headed off to bed. It is currently midnight and im sick again (Caught a cold from an actor)

Lets get Techie #1

In class we have a ritual we do every year where we give out a wrench and a clipboard every year to two grade elevens for the upcoming school year.

Whoever gets these almost always go into tech as a job or at least end up getting the most hours out of everyone in the class.

This year me and scarf got them. Respectivly I got the wrench and he got the clipboard (As our upcoming SM obviously).

I dont think ive been happier about this tbh but now I legally cant leave technical theatre ever, I am forever stuck.

Ensemble Cast:

Barista - A sound person whos graduated, taking a year off, chill dude

Crack Head - A litterally druggie, dropped tech, is oddly passionate about stupid shit

Faders - Dropped tech cause he got mad about a joke, wants lighting designer next year or will drop

The actors - They will all be lumped together, they may have something specific about what they did, who knows? They arent the main characters in this story

Tech God - The tech teacher whos actually the school technician but he teaches us everything

Anti-Tech - The director, has shown anti tech views, kinda mean to techs :(

Coffee Runner - The assistant director, basically just does coffee runs but is also the technical tech teacher
