Hi, I'm Zim, the admin of this blog! My main is @zimthesilly, and I will often be accompanied in posts by my irl bestie @picanteelf (the skykid on the right) who here, will be addressed as Stiv! Please know that both of us use She/Her pronouns! I made this blog to share news, tips, tutorials, and fan-content related to the game Sky: Children of the Light.

✨About Me✨

I'm a seasoned veteran in Sky, I started playing during new years of 2022 and as of now have played for 3.5 years! Unfortunately, I didn't buy most of the early season passes and missed out on the ultimates for the one I did buy... (OWL HAIR, COME BACK TO ME PELASE!!!)

With that said, playing the game has become a regular part of my day, and I'm more than in love with it!

My favorite season passes are Performance, AURORA (WARRIORS AND WEIRDOS RISE UP) and The Little Prince, my favorite days events are Bloom, Sunlight and Style, and my favorite realms are Hidden Forest, Vault of Knowledge and Valley of Triumph!

✨About Stiv✨

Stiv has been playing Sky since Season of Performance (though I don't think she ever bought the season?). She's my best friend and honestly an amazing person, as well as an amazing Uber! What's not to love? (go support my bean right now grrr)

I think she's actually even more addicted to this game than I am... I've never seen her skip a cr before. 😅

Her favorite season passes are AURORA, Flight and Duettes, her favorite days events are Sunlight, Moonlight and Mischief, and her favorite realms are Daylight Prairie, Valley of Triumph and Vault of Knowledge!

✨☁️Explaining the Daily Light system, a moth-friendly guide☁️✨

In Sky: Children of the Light, the daily light system is one of the most important things to understand, as without knowing it's conditions, candle runs can become confusing and even difficult.

✨Questions✨

What is the daily light system? The daily light system refers to a feature added in the 0.13.0 update, which altered the way wax is collected and forged into candles.

Why do I need to understand it before candle running? Understanding the format to this system will help you to create a better and more efficient routine which will in the end, provide you with more candles in less time.

Is it hard to understand? Absolutely not! Anyone can easily learn about the daily light system, and speaking of which, let's get to that, shall we?

✨Chevrons, chevrons, chevrons✨

Chevrons are the little arrows that you see on your candle, there will be 3 at the beginning of your Candle Run

Example:

What are chevrons, and what do they mean? Chevrons symbolize how much wax it will require you to forge a candle. Every time you collect 5 candles, one will disappear.

Example:

How do chevrons work? For each candle collected, you'll need just a smidge more wax to forge your next candle. And every 5 candles has a marker so you'll know

✨full Candle run guide✨

Zim, here! This is the schedule I use for (mostly) full candle runs. I will be skipping over some areas that don't give much wax or aren't worth visiting. Please know that this is not a beginner's guide and doesn't have a lot of instructions on running the individual areas. This is also assuming that your home is set to Aviary Village, or your nest. With that said, here's the order I cr in!

☁️ Daily music sheet

☁️ Village Theatre (if season of performance is completed, there will be bouquets you can pick up for wax)

☁️ Collect event tickets (if a days event is active)

☁️ If Days of Sunlight is active, sit afk in a shared space and collect wax from the balls in the water. If Days of Moonlight is active, become a chibi and stand under the table that generates balls to burn using the teamwork (8 Player Door) emote, this will automatically burn them. You may also use a shared space!

☁️ Treasure candle realm (just play the realm first, use same instructions)

☁️ Shard Eruption (if active)

☁️ Quest Realm + complete quests (if vault, continue cr in normal order while completing quests)

☁️ Starlight Desert (use wind paths entrance and collect the candle cake there)

☁️ Level 1 vault/emote door

☁️ Level 2 vault/4 player door

☁️ Level 3 vault (skip by flying up from the little building at the top until you reach level 4— this only works on floor 3 and requires 9-10 wedges)

☁️ Level 4 vault

☁️ Level 5 vault (fly towards the Jar constellation to light the lanterns, otherwise wait)

☁️ Return home, travel to Isle of Dawn and collect candles from mural caves, sand dunes, passage stone and surroundings

☁️ Butterfly Caves

☁️ Isle Temple (candles only) and nearby cave

☁️ Fly back down to the cave of prophecies, collect the treasure candle there

☁️ Trial of Fire (use shortcut)

☁️ Trial of Air (use shortcut)

☁️ Trial of Earth (use shortcut)

☁️ Trial of Water (optional, only if you're really fast as completing it or need winged light)

☁️ Go home and travel to Daylight Prairie, collect from social space and butterfly Fields

☁️ Prairie Peaks (optional, only for dye)

☁️ Sanctuary Islands (if geyser comes up, cr here when you visit)

☁️ Colosseum (not Temple yet; use the AURORA entrance back to Village of Dreams, then return to ice rink)

Notes:

☁️ You can collect up to 20 candles in a day (21 if you have almost a full candle at reset) with the daily light system, however if there is not a season pass currently active, you can claim 4 extra candles from quests, meaning you will earn 24-25 candles in a day if you know what you're doing!

☁️ Trials are completely optional. Fire and Air both give 4 treasure candles, earth gives 2 and water gives 2, though it is much more difficult to shortcut through.

☁️ Avoid collecting wax from the turtle in Sanctuary Islands, and the fish in Treasure Reef. In order to collect much wax from either, you will be swimming after them for a very, very long time.

☁️ While collecting at Grandma's, place a lightable object on the placemat in order to burn bread quickly.

☁️ When AFK collecting, take this time to be productive irl. Draw something, make a snack, read a book, just take a little break from the screen for a while!

☁️ NEVER use shared memories that help you to teleport from candle-to-candle. This can get you PERMANENTLY BANNED, as it is considered hacking. Do not attempt to use a moth account as a workaround. You will still get banned.
