During my travels through the Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia I stopped many times along the way to capture the beauty of the mountains. I wish I could be up there with them too. My destination was Grande Prairie. Which was very flat if you didn't know. Bored out of my mind, I searched to find the only hill there. Kleskun Hill aka Dino Hill. They built an entire campsite around this one little hill because it was such an anomaly to the area. How cute? No one was there to take my picture. It was to hard to figure out the self timer. Naturally, I began filming myself hoping I could grab a screen shot. The footage was entirely out of focus. The 15 minutes I spent embarrassingly trying to get a shot of myself was completely useless. Later, I was inspired and used the footage to photoshop screen shots back into the beloved mountains. @thecreativetraveller

Nature is our drug. A natural healing process is long and exhausting, just like waiting for a tree to grow, but it's worth it in the long run. // Sometimes it takes months to bring ideas to life and sometimes it takes staying up until 2am on a work night. 🎤widowspeak - girls

kafa karpuz is watermelon head in Turkish // my grandfather has recently been diagnosed with dementia. He speaks 11 different languages and is hands down one of the worlds most interesting characters. Those who have met him will vouch for this. At our last dinner he didn't remember much, hardly even my name. But there was one thing he was sure of, he was not a "KAFA KARPUZ" 🎧 Visions - Cookie

You are what u absorb

As some of you might already know I have been in school for graphic design for the past 2 years. As a part of being a designer one of our responsibilities is to brand ourselves and create our own identity. This was not an simple task and an on going process. How do you put yourself in a box and put a label on it? This is a quote I've come to really resonate with. For me, my brand is my skin. A container for the vital organs. You aren't just what you eat, you are also your environment, you are what you absorb. With the right nourishment anything is possible. Nourish accordingly and anything grows.
An introductory to my personal brand. I believe as humans we are not just what we eat, we are what we absorb. We are natures sponges. Time and time again we have proven that we are what we consume ourselves with internally and externally. Food, environment, emotion, creams... What we put in, is what we put out, what we are surrounded by we become. One way we absorb life is through the chameleon effect theory: “The chameleon effect refers to nonconscious mimicry of the postures, mannerisms, facial expressions, and other behaviors of one's interaction partners, such that one's behavior passively and unintentionally changes to match that of others in one's current social environment.”
When we being to enjoy someones company small gestures are mimicked. Pulling the hair, crossing legs, stretching... using similar body language and even in some cases in sync heart beats. This human natural reaction to “copy” what the others are doing is shows our vulnerable and increases like ability.
