Thinkers dealing with problems #1
*Me, an ENTJ, going to therapy for my mental health checkup*
ENTJ: "I don't quite feel at "home" when I am home these days. After spending so many lockdowns and quarantine there, I feel anxious and lonely so quickly"
Therapist: "That is very valid. Is there anything in your home that makes you happy?"
ENTJ: "Nope, I'm going to wait it out, spend little time at home and then move."
Therapist: "...I have to tell you that I don't really approve of this as it does not solve the issue."
ENTJ: "The bedroom is particularly bad, so I am just sleeping on the couch."
Therapist: "..."
ENTJ: "I've already started looking for new places!"
How to HONESTLY get each MBTI type to LOVE you
ENTP: Hang up a schedule on the door and make them write everything that they plan to do on it. Then go over it with them again afterwards and award stickers for good performance while drawing a frowning face next to every spontanous change of plans.
INTP: Book a party bus just for them. Also don’t invite any of their friends - just hand out the invitation at a club the weekend before.
ESTP: Take everything that they want to do out of their hands and do it for them. Plus points if you do it badly.
ISTP: Repeatedly start a discussion with them in which you just support the most extreme scientifically wrong standpoints. When they try to argue against it, walk away.
ENFJ: Very nicely ask them for help on a project. After they helped you, thank them, undo it all in front of their eyes and do it again badly.
INFJ: Constantly annoy them with little things. Displace their stuff, take their food without asking, slightly crumble up their notes. Act like nothing is wrong when they try to talk about it.
ESFJ: I dare you, don’t mess with the ESFJ. They’ll have their whole social circle as a support system which will rip you apart.
ISFJ: Completely ignore them. Pretend that you don’t know them and just talk to all of their friends.
ESTJ: When they want to get something done, just question them. Don’t do anything that they haven’t explained to you at least 3 different times.
ISTJ: Honestly, just get them in a Facebook discussion with an INTJ who has a very different worldview. They might not hate *you*, but that’s close enough.
ENTJ: Take them on a surprise meditation retreat in the mountains. No warning, no phone service and if the point comes where they actually start to relax, just drom them off at their house again to deal with the piled up work and missed appointments.
INTJ: You probably don’t have to do anything anymore if ISTJ is doing their job well.
ENFP: Tell them that they are your best friend and how much they mean to you. The next day, do the same to another person right in front of them.
ESFP: Invite them to an event which happens to be a several hour long presentation about a topic that they hate and glance at them with a disappointed look if they try to leave.
ISFP: Repeatedly start a discussion with them in which you just support the most extreme morally wrong standpoints. When they try to argue against it, walk away.
INFP: Write a list of how to get different MBTI types to love you and just not include the INFP, telling them that they are too boring and basic for it, if they ask why.
Meeting up with my ESFP-friend
9:00: ENTJ starts getting ready for meeting up with ESFP at 11:00 am
10:00: ENTJ decides to run some errands before the meeting, anticipating that ESFP will be late
10:05: Having just left the house, ENTJ gets a message from ESFP: "Is 11:30 okay?" Answers: "of course it is"
10:50: ENTJ got everything she needed and decides to walk some of the way home and get food for later
11:15: After getting food, ENTJ wants to take the subway to the meeting point, but it's out of order. She has to take the tram instead
11:25: ENTJ calls ESFP to apologize for running late. ESFP is at a bus station at least 15 minutes away from the meeting point. They decide to meet at ENTJ's house, because it's closer to ESFP
11:35: ENTJ gets off the subway and brings the stuff she bought home
11:45: ENTJ's phone rings. It's ESFP. She missed the bus and it took her longer to get there. She will be there in a few minutes. "Oh, I just locked the door, see you downstairs", says ENTJ
11:48: They meet outside ENTJ's house. "That was perfect timing", they agree and get some boba
An ENTJ's performance evaluation after 1 year of lockdown #1
I get a lot more work done during my work hours, because I can spread it out as I see fit and I don't constantly chat with my ESTJ friend (who's sitting next to me at the office) and I don't just end up having a 2 hour coffee break with my INTJ colleague.
I talk to my ESTJ friend at least once a day on the phone, though. His need to talk didn't really change.
I miss my INTJ-colleague. He went pretty much undercover and I only see him in our group meetings on Zoom, blankly staring it the camera (probably wishing he didn't have to be there).
Teaching online is much easier, because I can prepare my slides to be as pretty as possible and just explain what I'm doing. Also the struggle of writing in a straight line on a blackboard is real.
Teaching online is much harder, because at the time of my lecture, people are usually coming home and watching Netflix, so the internet connection is unpredicatable.
I have a way more extensive to-do-list, but usually get most things done.
"take a shower" now needs to be part of my to-do- list.
"vacuum clean" has been on my to-do-list for a week. ...I'll do it today. ....maybe. ...the hair-balls around the washing-machine are about to unionize if I don't get rid of them soon.
Academic crushes
I actually just found out that other people have also used this term to describe the butterflies in your stomach that you get when you talk to a professor whose research is particularly interesting or whose teaching skills are just so admirable.
I’m really passionate about science (who would have figured?) and it gets annoying since I’m picking my master’s thesis right now and it feels like a weird non-romantic version of a dating simulator or something. ...do I pick the grumpy old professor with vast knowledge in his very specific field and lots of international contacts? The young professor who has been very actively trying to get me to join his research group for half a year already? The silent hardworking professor who has asked me after an exam if I would be interested in writing a thesis with him or maybe the research group leader who does his own thing with a few assistants and and would love to have me on his team?
Does anyone else feel like that or am I just weird?
I’m kind of a doofus
I’ve applied for an internship in an east-asian country that seemed to fit my profile very well and would be a really cool opportunity. For the last week, I’ve obsessed over this, tried to get as many grades into my transcript as possible (some courses aren’t done yet), translated my CV and tried to come up with a convincing letter of motivation and a description of my research that highlights the skills that I could apply there. I even thought about when I should send the E-Mail so that it has the best chance of not getting burried. I decided that monday around noon was a good time.
...it’s just that monday around noon in Europe isn’t monday noon in east Asia and I just sent my application at 7 pm.
MBTI Tag Game
Hi y’all! Here’s a little tag game for all those who are interested in this stuff.
Reblog with: your MBTI type + your hobbies + favourite type (besides yours) + one topic you absolutely love talking aboutÂ
And tagÂ
I’ll start with it:Â
INFP + writing and digital art + ESTP + adventurous stuff or fandoms I enjoy
Tagging: @hikarumkns + @idontusethisaccnomore + @izu-umi + @queen-of-obsessing + @jailynekujo + @impending-snake-catastrophe + @kiwinfp + @axandquill anyone who wants to (you don’t have to, if you don’t want to :)
I want to thank @impending-snake-catastrophe for tagging me in the replies. It gave me a warm-fuzzy feeling of being noticed.
So for my answer:
ENTJ + exercising (martial arts, weightlifting, yoga and some running), cooking/foodscience, arts and crafts (digital art and crocheting, right now), reading about physics and mathematics + ENFJ + I can go on and on about quantum mechanics, because it’s literally everywhere in my field of study and I love what I do
I’d like to tag @nashinaomi, (Life as an ESTJ) because I randomly found their blog today and it looked pretty neat
This amuses me because my ENTJ friend has a crush on an ENFJ
That pairing would be interesting to see!
The person that I mainly thought of when choosing my favorite type was my mum, because as I grew older and became more mature, I realized that we are way more similar than I thought and Fe-doms are the types that I feel like I can learn the most from and who help me become a better and more balanced version of myself.
Back in school, I actually had a lot of trouble with an ENFJ in my life who basically pretended to be an ENTJ to appeal to me (I had zero self-awareness, so I had no idea at the time). I apparently accidently hurt him in a lot of different emotional ways back then which I wasn’t aware of AT ALL and it ended with him not talking to me in 5 years even though we saw eachother every day for the first 3 of those years. I believe that it takes a lot of emotional maturity from both sides to make that pairing actually work, but if both people are in a good place, I can imagine that it would be very fulfilling.
My partner is an ENTP and we are in the weird limbo of “we kind of don’t really understand eachother, but it’s just so fascinating what the other person does to reach their goals”. That’s definitely also not an easy pairing and we can drive eachother insane sometimes (which is why I didn’t pick ENTP as my favorite type), but we put a lot of emphasis on openly communicating our desires and motives and it’s a dynamic that helps both of us grow a LOT and gets us out of our comfort zones.
I wish your friend good luck with their ENFJ!
One of my favorite things as an avid home cook is when I manage to make a dish that I love but can't get from a restaurant anymore 'just right' at home
my realization after making Mapo Tofu that’s exactly like the one I had in Japan. From local restaurants, I can just get chinese-style which is good too, but quite a different dish
Stupid things the types would do to save the environmet
Get sick from eating that one spoiled carrot in the back of the fridge so that they don't have to throw it away: ENTJ, ENFJ, INFJ
Grow their own wheat just to have it spoil, because they found out that they have no way of processing it: ISTJ, INTP, ISFP, ISTP
Wash their hair with rye flour and cold water, insisting that they actually prefer it that way: INFP, ENFP, ISFJ
Throw a party to raise money for a great project to save the environment... which creates a lot of totally unnecessary trash: ESFP, ESFJ, ESTP
Go hunting for a sustainable meat supply which actually seems like more of an excuse for their gun-collection: ENTP, ESTJ, INTJ
ENTP flirting #2 (nicknames)
*my ENTP is consistently calling me his "dragon" or his "lizard"*
ENTP's explaination: First of all, you're always cold unless you're lying on a hot stone like a lizard. Secondly, you're so happy about saving money and getting a good deal that you remind me of a dragon on his pile of gold. Lastly, you're the one who's strong and knows martial arts so you could settle any fight for me, just like a strong dragon.
ENTJ: *thinks about it*
ENTJ: *imagines herself as a buff dragon lying on a warm pile of gold*
ENTJ: *is happy*
How each MBTI-type procrastinates - the Feelers
INFP: *gets lost in thoughts for hours, listening to music while probably lying on a beanbag in their aestetically decorated room* *doing the task actually doesn’t even seem like an option to them*
ENFP: “This friend of mine has a really hard time in her relationship right now! How can I even think about working when I have to take care of her!” *gets three tubs of ice cream*
INFJ: *suddenly gets hit by an overwhelming feeling of guilt for not doing the thing they’re supposed to while doing something rather mundane like watering their plants*
ENFJ: “I got this book about how you can de-stress by drawing repetitive flower patterns so here’s thirty pages of flowers. Also, I might start this 30-day meditation journey I found on YouTube”
ISFP: *had actually thought out a semi-decent plan for getting the thing done which unluckily failed at step one* “Oh, dammit, I won’t get this done, so I might as well just do things I enjoy”
ESFP: “Procrastinating? I don’t do that. I have all the time in the world to have fun!” *pulls an all-nighter with the ESTP to get stuff done* *will probably get thrown out by the ESTP at 4 a.m. for asking dumb questions*
ISFJ: “I know that I should do that thing, but I’ve also been working on homemade presents for my friends for their birthdays. I need to have my priorities straight!”
ESFJ: "Guys, I found this great new wine bar that we just have to try together! We really need to enjoy the things that make life worth living!” *actually makes their friends procrastinate while stilll being relatively on schedule themselves*
ENTP flirting #1
*ENTJ walks up to studying ENTP-boyfriend*
ENTJ: How's it going, can I bring you some snacks?
*ENTP takes off headphones*
ENTP: No thanks and it's going fine
ENTJ: We've both been working all day in different rooms and I just want to make sure that we don't end up not seeing eachother, even though we're in the same apartment
ENTP: *ruffles ENTJ's hair* Don't worry, if one of us dies, the other one will likely notice the smell
I’m going to start a series of posting quick sketches of the types. (Which I’m mostly drawing during my only semi-interesting lectures) I do have specific people I know in mind when drawing, but only use them as inspiration.
Requests for the next types or other ideas are welcome :) (I still have some lectures to get through)
the hormonal ENTJ
*starts sobbing mid-argument*
“Just so you know, I’m not crying, because I’m offened or overly touched by anything you said”
*sniff*
“I just had this weird distracting feeling inside of me that I needed to cry and by letting it out, I can now much more clearly focus on the matter at hand!”
*wipes tears with the back of her hand*
“Can you give me a tissue so we can continue our discussion?”

The two modes of ENTJ-cooking
Relaxed ENTJ: I’ve made this super complicated three course meal, there’s some bread in the oven, I’ve tried making a new exotic dessert and I already started marinating something for tomorrow
Busy ENTJ: I’ve made a huge pot of “nutritious mush” that’s going to last me for the next three days for breakfast, lunch and dinner
