#BlackPatriarchy vs. #whitefeminism
Pick your priorities. “White feminism” offends, Black Patriarchy beats, rapes, and kills.
The divorce rate has jumped 66 percent in recent decades, but women are ill-equipped financially to raise children alone.
Women in Japan tend to struggle economically following divorce. That’s because traditionally in Japan, men work, and women stay home to take care of the children. About 62 percent of women drop out of the workforce when they have their first child, according to Kingston. When couples divorce, women have often been out of the workforce for a long time. Many institutions incentivize this arrangement: Japanese corporations often give husbands whose wives stay home a bonus, and the Japanese tax system punishes couples with two incomes. When women do try to return to the workforce, they usually can only find low-paying part-time work, if they find a job at all. And women who do work earn 30 percent less than men who do. “In both the U.S. and Japan, you have a situation where women are forced to work, but if the economy doesn’t allow women to feed a family with 40 hours a week, you have a very difficult economic situation,” Ezawa said.
Single mothers are called “sluts” in Japan and that already tells you everything you need to know.
A response to a bad Discourse/ “critique” of socialization theory that basically argues that it amounts to “blaming mothers” for societal problems.
Mothers are not the only parents and parents are not the only (or even majority of) socialization agents/factors in children’s lives.

They have always wanted us to aid them in their fight for fairness against this corrupted system, but they have never shown any interest in making OUR lives better by simply treating us as equals; we had to fight them tooth and nail, as well as the system itself, and we are still fighting them both today.
It wasn’t uncommon when my dad was growing up for the police to get called to his street due to ‘domestics’ (because after a while the sound of male violence could no longer be ignored by the neighbors), only for the police to leave after a few minutes claiming it to be ‘none of our business’. It was a common sight to see bruises on female neighbors.
My dad once told me about a girl whose father prostituted her at age 12 because he wanted money for cigarettes and booze. The men - working class men - all knew how young she was but none of them cared. She was never able to escape prostitution, and her story still circulates around my town between people of my father’s generation.
Of all the women I know relatively well in my real life I don’t know a single one who hasn’t experienced male violence from a husband/boyfriend, or who wasn’t sexually assaulted at some point in her life, or at the very least experienced an attempted sexual assault.
I know women who have had to flee to the other end of the country, some with multiple children in tow, just to be safe from the men who are supposed to have their backs the most.
I know women who grew up in poverty and often starved for days at a time, not because their fathers never worked, but because he drank and gambled his earnings away instead of buying food. Men who would get angry and violent if confronted about this.
Every one of the men responsible for these assaults/attempted assaults on working class girls and women were working class men. THEY decided there’s no real solidarity between working class men and women, not us.
