Hey everyone. There's a new youtube feature that rolled out just yesterday that's raising some privacy concerns.
People in the U.S., U.K., Brazil, and Singapore can now share videos and chat with friends directly within the YouTube app. The update bring
This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.
If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.
This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.
To turn this off:
Go to your youtube app settings
Go to Privacy
Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"
Trimming the source id (the stuff after the '?' in links) will also prevent this from happening.
Little girl teaching her cats how to draw a flower
(via)
they’re? just? sitting there ???
it makes it 100% better that i can’t understand her, i feel like i’m hearing what cats hear
Heh, she’s speaking Portuguese! Here’s what she’s saying:
*baby voice* “… and if you have any questions, just ask me! And now… yeah. And now you draw the roots. You draw them all twisted up! Got it? A flower? Now draw it. Did you get it, Luis Roberto? Did you get it, Jurandir? Look. Did you get it? That’s how you draw a flower.”
Luis Roberto and Jurandir are people names (Jurandir is especially a name associated with older men) so it’s extra funny that the cats are named that, heh.
heres the thing. i enjoy well done heavy subject matter, you can look at my track record of interests as evidence for that, but i do think writers who wont shut up about how complicated and controversial they are for including ~dark themes~ in their writing need to a christmas carol style be forced to sit down and watch all 4 seasons of 13 reasons why to see what happens if you try to incorporate a bunch of heavy stuff in your work with 0 research or regard for people affected
slight clarification: people in the tags are saying "yea there needs to be levity between heavy moments for a story to be effective", which is also very true! but not what this post is about. this post is about how if you write about abuse and murder and oppression but you dont actually know what youre talking about or have a purpose for including it beside shock value and proving how mature you are your work will read like it was written by a twelve year old
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.
Tumblr should never have given us polls. Everyday I have to see years-old polls cross my dash proudly proclaiming past-me's vote which I now disagree with. Let me change my vote!! I have rethought which Tetris piece is the sexiest.
Im always like "i will not add my two cents. i will not add my two cents" but i cant lie the pennies are getting sweaty in my hand

text: Who's gonna do it? When's it gonna get done?
This feels like a threat.
I will always reblog this
still remember how revolutionary this ad felt 10 years ago
excuse me but it still feels revolutionary
Keep reblogging until it feels normal everywhere.
For context: this came out in 2011 in Australia. Same-sex marriage would not be legalized until December 2017.
It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldn’t be legalized nation-wide until 2015.
It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldn’t hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)
As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. That’s only ~19% of countries.
This is still revolutionary.
I do remember how it felt to see this kind of ad enter the mainstream; I’d not seen this one before, but I remember a great one before the Irish referendum on same-sex marriage, where a guy goes to ask his girlfriend’s parents for their blessing to propose; then he goes and knocks on the next door, then the next, and he has to go all over the place getting every single person’s permission to get married. (The ending asked how you would feel if you needed to get four million people to approve your marriage, referring to the vote.) I thought it had been long enough that something like this would no longer impact me, but I still wanted to watch it before reblogging.
I didn’t expect that it would make me cry today.
Ok everyone let’s think beautiful thoughts about masculine women today.
i literally cannot convey how long i fucking laughed after i realized that boobytrap backwards is partyboob
i really hope that this does not end up being the text post that defines my entire tumblr career
this is the most underrated part of rockin’ and rollin’ yoda
Luke’s face is what makes this.
Happy pride month to him
Does anyone know what to do
