This altogether too often wondered sentiment was Typewriter Series #60. Four years ago. When was the last time you needed saving? What saved you?
You said you loved me but it felt like being robbed.
Caitlyn Siehl, Locked (via larmoyante)
I do not want to have you to fill the empty parts of me I want to be full on my own
Rupi Kaur (via wordsnquotes)
The stray lovers have gone home. The house is cold. There is nothing on TV. She must write poems.
Sandra Cisneros, from “The Poet Reflects on Her Solitary Fate,” My Wicked Wicked Ways (via lifeinpoetry)
Man I hate it when people use the pronoun “you” as a singular pronoun in an informal setting. “You” is plural, unless thou dost speak to an unfamiliar person. The correct singular second person pronoun is “thou” in most cases. Grammar never changes. Pronouns must always stay one way until the end of time. Learn thy proper English. *sigh* Kids these days.
If thou this mistake shouldst make on thine own blog, then know, villain, that thou art a dirty descriptivist, and no friend of mine. Ne'er should language itself alter, it doth remain fixèd as such, untouch’d by change. Wouldst thou, vile descriptivist, that we forget the heritage of our great tongue? Nay, say I. Thou art but a dickhead who sayest so.

Domina Et Servus
He kneels before her, head bowed,
hands clasped; a personal supplication Our Father, His savior Who art in Heaven, She towers above him, he bows, laying his head and his life at her feet Hallowed be Thy name Her title crosses his lips, a whisper, a plea, a prayer Thy kingdom come, She is stripping him to his most bare, creating him a home wherever she is Thy will be done, He is under her control, complying, as he submits to his queen On Earth as it is in Heaven He worships the ground she walks on, groveling in her path Give us this day our daily bread She provides, rewards, and punishes when he deserves it. And forgive us our trespasses, He bends, braces, As we forgive those who trespass against us, Mirrors the punishing rhythm set by her hips Lead us not into temptation Each thrust brutal, but wanted, cruel, but deserved. And deliver us from evil Her kisses burn his skin like holy water on a demon’s flesh For the kingdom She is his beginning and his end And the power She rules him And the Glory She trained him, made him, Are Yours He is hers Now and Forever.
The Fall
They sit for hours in endless silence, not out of comfort, but out of complete lack of common interest. But when they fuck, Oh God, but when they fuck. A cold front meets a warm front, a microburst of bodies colliding, twirling, set on a mutual path of destruction; destroying their pasts, their bodies creating the words they could not say. Each thrust puts a crack in their foundations, eroding their walls. The world feels the aftermath, the destruction cataclysmic. They are two people, a microcosm in the middle of an expansive universe. But with disaster past, casualties tallied, their humanity destroyed, they realize their entire universe is a never ending cycle of hopelessness and fucking out of desperation; desperation that they can somehow make themselves whole.
Keith
He was the man that dreams were made of. He thrived on scalding black coffee and the delicious innocence of the girls he taught. He touched many lives, along with so many barely-legal teenage girls. He taught the creation of government, the ethics of law, but all he knew was destruction and immorality. He created a warring life, building it up each day, and tearing it back down in an endless stream of shady hotel rooms and eighteen year old girls. Starting over was something he was good at.
Not sure whether to use ‘affect’ or ‘effect’?
Affect is the Action
Effect is the End result
Reblog to save a life
I find that, when writing bios, it’s really helpful to look at a list or a chart like the one above. Picking two or three traits from each chart and building a character based around them will give you a really interesting bio, because they will serve as a reminder that characters need depth and dimension.
Independent and clever.
VS.
Independent, clever, pretentious, and stubborn.
The first combination doesn’t come with any flaws, whereas the second will provide a more dynamic character.
Every paragraph should accomplish two goals: advance the story, and develop your characters as complex human beings.
Nancy Kress (via worddocs)
i love that charles dickens got paid by the word. like i cant even be mad when he’s boring and long-winded bc i would do xactly the same??? i wouldnt use contractions or colours at all. want to say the word red? too bad. we r now only using “the colour of freshly-spilled blood on snow; the hue of the horizon when the sun sets over the deserts of sub-saharan Africa” BOOM guess who can afford 2 eat now: me and my boi dickens
Road Rash
Every day I run six miles. It may seem like a lot, but six miles comes and goes in what seems like a matter of minutes. Six miles of road to catch my every mistake, see my every flaw, and not pass judgment. Six miles of refuge from the world clawing at the edges of my consciousness. Six miles to relive, replay, and forget. Six miles, in which I can be brought to my knees by the trials and hardships in an attitude of supplication, begging to save the world. Six miles where I cease to exist in a physical state and all that remains is a gleaming ball of energy, exploding and burning away humanity’s last shreds of chaos.
Then it’s over.
Some days, six miles cannot even begin to cover it.
Hello,
I’m the hairy, scary, Amazonian warrior princess feminist that your conservative parents warned you about. My self esteem is through the roof because I’m fucking awesome and I’m here to steal your soul with my hairy armpits so we can use our vaginas to rule the world.

If you have been receiving abusive messages from anons, or if you know someone who has, try to do the following:
1. Save as much evidence as you can stand. Screenshot the messages, save any emails. 2. Report the messages to Tumblr. The email for reporting abuse is [email protected]. 3. Report the harassment to the local police. Threats and harassment are often prohibited by law, especially if the person being harassed is a minor.
Of course, if it’s too much, then take a break. Turn off the computer. Step away. You’ll be fine. Stay safe, guys!
