GET ABSOLUTELY SHRIMPED!!!
every so often i remember how awesome the modern interconnected multicultural world is. i grew up getting to hear fairy tales from all over the world. africa, asia, europe, america. everywhere in between. i can have bagels for breakfast, curry for lunch, and ramen for dinner without even leaving the city limits. music and art and philosophy and technology that originated thousands of miles and years apart from eachother have come together and interwoven into something greater than the sum of its parts. its hard not fall into despair when thinking about the horrors but god. god the wonders.
Women who cackle are so cute
Why are you so happy??? Your nefarious scheme proceeds apace and it made you happy??? Cute as fuck
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
why are ghosts always person-sized in the movies? they donāt have bodies anymore. one ofĀ āem should have figured out how to work that shit. one of them could be ⦠her š³
kind of a milf. reblog
hearing anything about the nolan odyssey is so funny. it's like "they cut the extremely important and infamous nobody scene" "the cyclops is a giant puppet that they put in an actual historical cave + gave circe animatronics for her pig transformation instead of cgi" "they dumped plastic skeletons in an environmentally protected location they were not supposed to be in" "they recreated ancient greek instruments in order to have an accurate score" "all of odysseus's agency is basically gone" "anne hathaway actually learned how to weave ancient looms" "the women in this movie are treated like shit" "they actually buried actors alive to get those underworld shots" "did you see what the fuck zendaya was fucking wearing holy shit you can't DO THAT, MA'AM" "what do you mean there was a legitimate epic the musical reference" "NOT A SINGLE FUCKING GREEK WAS CAST IN THIS MOVIE"
like did nolan have two guys standing at his side at all times whispering ideas in his ear and one told the truth and the other told lies and they didnt tell him which was which until they wrapped production cause
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Heāwait. Why dost the Lord hath clippers.
The Lord sheareth me.
god the Bratz boy characters (Boyz) were so funny. there's so much gender going on here. these five utterly swagless men were as good as it got in the early 2000s.
loving this confirmation that da boys were all wearing the same pair of shoes. there was a buy one get four at the old navy and the lads had to get in on it.
Thadā¢... they call me "SHARK" cuz' my CHARM sneaks up on you!
all of their entries on the Bratz wiki (wikiz?) are so funny because they're like. they're characters that are designed to be interesting for young girls who like playing dress up with dolls but they're also supposed to represent the abstract concept of a Teenage Boy, whatever the hell that is, so all of their personalities are like "loves to flaunt the coolest clothes and flashiest shoes! has a huge collection of belts, gloves, and hats that he takes great pride in! also enjoys uuuuh monster trucks and death metal"
a lot of people dont care about insect biomass collapse bc when they hear we are losing 2.5% of the insect biomass per year they just imagine the cockroach and housefly population decreasing by that much. they dont realize those are among the only ones that will remain unbothered
you can make a little oasis right where you are, and it matters
every year of restoring native plants I see a great increase in the insect populations, and loads of new insects i never saw before (all of them harmless--the insects that are harmful or parasitic on humans are the main ones being unaffected by the decrease in insect populations)
(a large part of) the problem is Plant Sameness. we must restore plant diversity
āWhen we were kids, the Phonics Wizard came to our town to show off how the letter E can change the sounds of vowels. He turned a can into a cane, a pin into a pine. This one kid had a cap and he changed it into a cape, that kind of thing.
āAnd we loved it, we were all having a great time, but then he saw my sister and I, and he just got this - this look in his eyes, and then-ā
She hesitated, worrying the coarse material between her fingers. āThings got pretty bad after that,ā she muttered. āI know itās silly, but I try to keep - her - comfortable. We donāt know if she can still hear us, or see us, or if sheās even still in here, but I like to think she is. I talk to her when I can, I leave music on when Iām out of the house. I tried to convince my parents to bring her with us when we went to Disneyland, but they didnāt - didnāt really take that well.ā
After a moment, she put the ball of twine back onto its pillow. āAnyways. They tried to arrest the Phonics Wizard, but he had a plan in case something went wrong and he turned it into a plane and flew away.ā
and if i said nolan's odyssey starring no greek actors and with no recognizable aspects of greek culture or involvement by greeks, is the direct legacy of white supremacist colonialism that treated ancient greece as not just the pinnacle of ancient culture, but of an artificially created "european" culture, which white western europeans and their settler descendants, as the new pinnacle of culture, were the sole spiritual inheritors of.
^^^ PEOPLE ARE STILL THERE. There's a metro station across the street from the colosseum where i found a hair in my pizza slice. We drove by ruins of an amphitheater next to a motorway in greece once. It's literally just real places where real people live and have lived. It's not mythical perfect lands that once existed. I went to Itacha in 2023 and there was not enough parking space.
going on a guilt trip do yall want anything
if you really cared about me you wouldn't have to ask
disabled ppl we need to start lying to nosy people okay? you tell me i'm too young to need a cane and i will tell you point blank that maybe you should tell that to the guy who ran me over. you don't get an explanation of my health issues you get lies and depending on how much of an asshole i want to be that lie will be anything from a humble car crash to a 1 billion lions attack. mind yr business.
"i could never live like that" well maybe you'll have to because this happened overnight. yeah you heard me i was the most able bodied man in the world but then one morning bam i woke up disabled. yeah you could have that too. there's no cure either you'll just wake up one morning and now you have to live like me
"what happened" well have you ever seen looney tunes? yeah an anvil landed on me and squished me flat.
I think the funniest thing Toby Fox could do is not have Papyrus show up in Deltarune at all and then in the post credits after you you beat the game you'd see a message appear that says "you can now play with Papyrus" and then he'd be retroactively inserted into every single chapter like some kind of new game+
It would look like this
"why do you still bring up charlie kirk" because it's funny. his death is genuinely a running joke to me. you could say it's the greatest contribution he has made to society
