(What's the funniest practical joke that you ever did to somebody on the set?)

Gosh, I don't know. I guess it was the time, the show we had finished, The Trouble with Tribbles, and the tribbles kept popping up all over the set. We did a show afterwards, Journey to Babel, and I was doing some very complicated surgery on Spock's father, if you remember. So in the middle of the shot, I don't know what happened to the outtake, whether it was destroyed or what, but in the middle of the take, I reached down between his legs and pulled a tribble out. I said, "The trouble with Sarek is he's pregnant."

Turtle Frog (Myobtrachus gouldii), family Myobatrachidae, Western Australia

These burrowing frogs dig forward, like a turtle, and not backwards into the soil, like most burrowing frogs.

After pairing up, a couple descends into a burrow, where they later mate, and lay eggs. The offspring go through the larval stage in the eggs (not having a free swimming tadpole stage).

They feed on termites.

“Smaug is basically an unusually large Sackville-Baggins” is not the take I expected from the Tolkien fandom today, but it absolutely fits.

(I am also sad that even if Bilbo had called Smaug a Sackville-Baggins to his face, Smaug would lack the background information to know just how he was being insulted.)

Also I found this picture of Watson (Edward Hardwicke) holding a gun like that with that look on his face and it is one of the most perfect Doctor Watson images ever produced.

He looks like Sherlock Holmes either asked to borrow the gun, or just handed it to him and hasn't acknowledged that it's a loaded gun.
