Your eyes move around the base that So'lek had taken you to with the sky person, Alma. Your head moves to the side as you watch the glowing thing, a small sky person's hand, her hair a vibrant purple.
“What is that?“ You ask, tail moving from side to side moving closer to her, watching her look up towards you, looking a little confused, she must not know what you are saying, you think, guess not all sky people are taught to speak your tongue.
“That" You say again, but this time your hand moves out pointing towards it, the colours that it produces make it glow, making it catch your interest immediately.
“It's a tablet that we use for information” The woman says as you tilt your head again, you do not understand this sky person tongue. Alma had been watching you closely as soon as you had been taken to the base, and she had decided to tell you.
“It's used to communicate to others and hold information” Alma says in the tongue you understand, watching you. Your eyes hold interest. You look to be around the same age as So'lek, maybe a little younger. You nod at her, moving away to look at other things in the sky people's base.
Your eyes land on some colourful things on the ground. Moving towards them, you crouch down, your hand picking one up as you feel how soft it is in your hands. You place it back down to look at some plants in pots. Your hand moves up to touch some leaves, and you frown a little. These plants have been cared for, but not correctly. The woman with purple hair walks over to you again as she speaks.
“The plants you have in this world are amazing, I have been trying to grow them indoors for a while. But they do not seem to do as well when they are outside in this world” She says with a smile on her face, as you look at her with a scrunched-up face, a little bit, not understanding a word she has spoken to you.
“Priya, she does not understand a word you just spoke” So'lek says with a sigh when he appears.
“Oh, right, my mistake” Her face turning a bit red. You turn your head to the side again in interest as they speak in the sky people's tongue.
“Teach me to talk this tongue, I want to learn” You say, looking at So'lek.
“I will talk to Alma and ask her to help you as she is a far better teacher for learning their tongue” So'lek suggests to you as you nod.
You grab the tablet from Alma's hands as you try to understand what she is trying to teach you to speak the tongue of the sky people.
“I do not like this tongue” You mutter as you try to pronounce some simple phrases in their tongue.
“That is because you are new to this language, Y/n” She says. You frown at some words she spoke, not understanding them, watching you try to read the letters of the tablet.
“Now try and pronounce this phrase” Alma says, pointing at a sentence on the tablet lighting up as you bring the tablet closer towards your face to pronounce the words.
“My namè Y/n” You say, apparently it's how you pronounce it in their tongue.
“Yes, that's it, you're getting there” Alma says to you, but you only catch a few of the words spoken.
“I will be leaving now, I will be back tomorrow" You say, having had enough of learning for today, you have been at it for 5 hours. Alma nods her head as she lets you leave.
Moving up from where you were sitting, you're moving towards the exit of the base. Your eyes then land on So'lek, changing your direction towards him.
“So'lek” You say, greeting him with your hand to your head as you lower it.
“I would like to invite you for a hunt. Would you like to join?“ You ask with a small smile upon your lips your ears perking up.
“A hunt? Sounds like a good distraction, I will join you” He says, looking at you. His lips press together, a very closed of na'vi, you think to yourself.
“Then let us go” You say leaving the base calling out to your ikran you've had him for many years as you give him an affectionate pat climbing upon him.
“Hello I/n” You say to your ikran before looking back behind you to So'lek as he calls out to his ikran as well.
“Where will we be going, Y/n?” Solas asks, moving onto his ikran as you both move to the air, you smile, feeling the wind against you.
“We are going to a river, a small and simple hunt, but for the delicious fish that flow within that river close by my home" You say, flying next to each other.
After around 20 minutes, you get to the river as you leave, leaning down on your ikran, gaining speed, flying down towards the river, letting your ikran get some fish to eat.
“Is that nice I/n” You say, moving towards the land and onto the ground next to the river, watching So'lek do the same. Your eyes are moving around to find a good spot to catch the fish.
“That spot over there is good for the fish” You say, pointing over towards a shaded area of the river.
“These fish like to stay in the cold parts and not in the sun, they are strong swimmers, so there is a higher chance of finding them where the water flows heavily” You say as your eyes watch him as he takes his weapons from his ikran, but he is listening to what you say.
“And what is this fish we are catching?” he asks, turning to look at you, watching you take a look around before moving back towards your ikran.
“A Pekavol, I need some food and the bone of this fish is good for making tools with and maybe something you can take some back to those sky people and show them how to make real meals” You say muttering that last part, taking your short bow and spear from your ikran, your dagger already on your side.
“They try their best" He says, your face scrunching up at the memory of the food they had offered you. It was different and tasted like nothing. Moving towards the area that you had pointed out to So'lek. Your eyes watch the water your ears pinned up as well.
“Yes, this is a good spot, I see one" You say, seeing So'lek trying to spot where you were looking, grabbing your bow, and taking aim, releasing it, hitting true, as a smile falls on your face. You move quickly into the water to grab the fish your hands grabbing your arrow as you take it back to the bank you and So'lek are on.
“Your spirit goes to Eywa” You mutter to the fish before taking out the arrow and putting the fish into the basket.
“It is your turn, So'lek, you are a warrow, yes? Should be no problem for you” You say to him, watching his stern face.
“I have not been fishing for many years, but I should still have the skills to catch one for myself” He says, watching the water for any movement.
“Pekavol, are difficult creatures to find but you should look for a movement of red in the water and then you have it” You tell him watch him lift his bow up and aim into the water, letting the string go hitting his fish and moves into the water making sure it doesn't flow down the river.
“Who catches the most wins?” You then say with a smile, turning this into a challenge, seeing who would win.
After around an hour of fish hunting, you started to hear footsteps heading in your direction. You both perk up and twitch a little bit, stopping what you are doiand ng, you turn to look at So'lek, noticing he is hearing the same thing as well.
“So'lek, I think it's time we leave” You didn't like sky people, and you did not like the sky people that were made of metal with their loud weapons and steps on the land.
“They are far too deep into the forest, it's unusual" You hear him, say. Your hand tightens on your bow before you get the chance to say a word, the sky people appear. You're quick to lift your bow up and hit the metal sky people straight through the clear part. You're glad your ikran is nearby and not next to you.
Watching So'lek kill them one by one, you lift your bow up again as you see a sky person lift a metal weapon towards him, letting go of the string hitting them, you move towards So'lek as he gets the last of them. Your ears pinning back, a banging sound is let out from another sky person's metal weapon
“Y/n stay behind something, it is not safe to be out in the open!” So'lek shouts over towards you. Changing the direction towards some trees, as some shots are aimed at you just before you get into the cover of the foliage of the forest, as you still yourself, as you crouch on the ground, moving across the forest floor to get a better view. There seems to only be a couple left, raising your bow again you aim for hitting them and then another from where you kept yourself hidden
“So'lek” You say moving out from where you were into the open the
Sky people are all gone now, watching So'lek move over to you, but then checking over for you, his hand grabbing your arm.
“Y/n, you have been hit with a bullet it must be looked after” He says, a frown on his face. Bring your arm closer to him, making you tak,e a look at your arm as there is some dark bliod running down it. Yet it does start to sti;n;g, how had you not realised?
“Y/n? I think that the sky people's sudden appearance had shocked you, that's why it doesn't hurt for now. It has gone all the way through and has not hit bone. You should be okay, you just have to clean it and wrap it up. Come back to the base, they will look after it for you” He says gently to you, making you shake your head. You didn't want a sky person's healing; you trusted your own.
“No, not them, I will look after it myself, you said it's not bad” You say pulling your arm back with a small hiss at the pain that follows when you do so.
“You have never had a wound like that, you do not know how its looks after” He says to you seriously.
“Then you take care of it, as I said I do not want the sky peoples healing, my home it is not too far from here” You mutter towards him, a frown on your face, you still do not trust the sky peoples' way.
“Fine, if that is what you wish for, I will not force you” He says, his eyes moving from the two small baskets that have the fish that you both caught.
“The stuff I have for wounds is in that basket over there" You say, after getting to your hut in the tall tree. You point towards an orange and purple painted basket. As he places down your small basket of fish into your home.
You slulk as he cleans up your wound and then wraps it up, as you watch what he is doing, as you judge him as he works on your wound.
“Your work is sloppy, but it shall do” You say to him as you check over his work again, hearing as he lets out a grunt at your comment. You move towards the fish baskets, look through your one and So'leks's, a smile upon your lips, you had won.
