It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

1. Where is your blog title from?

-I literally could not think of anything to put down as the title. It was a placeholder that just became permanent, and I've grown to love it, really.

2. Latest movie? What did you think?

-In the case of movies that are new to me, it would be Project Hail Mary, and I absolutely loved it. In the case of latest watch, The Pianist. It was moving and beautiful.

3. What are you looking forward to right now?

-Potentially reopening my soapmaking business.

4. If you could do anything at all today, what would it be?

-Magically have the money to buy myself a house in Oregon. Somewhere near Portland. I wanna be able to go to Powell's Books easily.

5. Drink of choice?

-Usually water.

6. Hair routine

-Shampoo twice, condition once. After the shower, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, Shea Moisture Strengthen & Restore leave-in conditioner. Occasionally: Anti-frizz hair mask, Bedhead Some Like It Hot heat protection spray. The use of the spray depends on how hot it is outside or if I'm using heat tools that day. After washing and products, drying in a jersey knit hair towel and air drying. Use bonnets for sleeping.

7. Favorite way to travel? Is there another way you want to try?

-If it's long distance? Train. I love a train. I get horrible motion sickness in airplanes.

-I don't have one, really.

-Evening. Not afternoon, not quite dusk.

-I used to play roller derby in my younger years, but not anymore. I don't really follow sports.

-That my preferred brand of cold cuts unfortunately has started using undeclared gelatin in their glaze coating, which I cannot have because of allergy reasons, which explains some stomach distress that I had been in last week.

-I don't think I'm that knowledgeable on any subject.

15. Piece of advice you find yourself giving a lot?

-You are who you allow to be around you.

-Go visit before it's too late.

-I do. I'm deeply spiritual in the non-Christian sense. I actually carry a little bit of my late best friend's hair with me everywhere in my purse. She keeps me safe. I also wear her rose quartz pendant from time to time.

18. Are you musical (play any instruments? Sing? Would you perform for an audience?)

-No, yes, and no.

19. Write, type or speak

-A little bit of all three.

20. What do you wish someone would ask you?

-I can't think of anything, truthfully. I spend a lot of time trying not to be noticed so I cannot be questioned. I get a lot of questions hurled at me by my eldest sister whenever we're together, to the point that it feels like an intense police interrogation.
