Howdy. I'm sick in bed today, and since Peter Falk hasn't come to read me my stories...
I thought you might like to watch some fellas painting, with me.
I mean, I thought I knew something about trees,
but Eyvind Earle is a fucking magician.
I haven't put anything up here in a while, but I'm so excited about Over the Garden Wall, it seemed like a good time.
I could describe this 5 part animated mini-series all day, but you should really just watch it, It's super beautiful and really smart and kinda terrifying (just like all my ex-girlfriends).
Waka-waka-waka.
I've got a lot to catch up on.
Super Aggressive Space Turtles by The Friendship, is the best antidote I've found for the case of major jibblies those freaky lipped promo images done gave me.
Today's thing is a little more tangentially connected than usual,
but worth your time.
I really loved LA Noire, the homicide department part especially (which absolutely surprises no one).
Disappointingly, I'm pretty sure we won't get a follow-up. As I understand it, the one in the works is without a publisher, and I doubt the title "Whore Of The Orient" is going to get them one either.
At least we have memories, and this Egoraptor cartoon.
Today I was gifted some fresh ground beef from a farmer I that know... Now I can't stop thinking about Totes Burgers by Josh Trotter.
Golden Age of Insect Aviation: The Great Grasshoppers
Very neat animated short for NPR's new Tumblr "Skunk Bear".
The cartoon is super cute, but I'm not sure it's as good as the movie.
The Elegant Gentleman’s guide to Knife Fighting
I remember being so hyped about Korgoth of Barbaria back in 2006.
Sadly they only ever made one episode, but since it’s already playing off the whole 80’s barbarian craze, it still holds up really well.
Unlike some things...
No one could ever match Dr. Bees!
Oh... nevermind.
Tacky, Sticky & Glutinous by David Maingault kinda reminds me of the type of experimental French film I might have come across on Bravo when I was 10, and would still remember vividly to this day whenever I try to sleep... or something.
In Sean Buckelew's "Another" a Bear becomes a Father; in sort of the way that an assassin might take over as King.
Visually it's got the warm feel of a children's book, and if all else fails, I'm really looking forward to Bill Cosby's remake "Bear Dad"
A lot of people don't like seeing Rosie out of context like this, but I'm actually pretty impressed.
The idea of a humanoid robot was so broad in the 60s, to see her translated into something that actually looks like it works is really neat.
This short never ceases to make me happy.
