i hate when a feminist org/influencer/whatever is trying to explain the intersectional perspective of something and they fall into “this harms women as well as marginalized communities” because it implies women aren’t marginalized. women ARE a marginalized group. and i completely understand what they mean (they mean women and OTHER marginalized groups are impacted, or they mean women are impacted and women who are marginalized in additional ways feel the impact more) but idk i hate the wording so much. it’s evidence of patriarchal influence even in feminist spaces — women can’t be the sole recipients of harm, and if they are, we have to imply that oppressed men are also included to get any movement. idk

Can literally anyone explain why “girlboss feminism” is actually bad tho. Why is it bad for women to be strong and successful. Does anyone know or do we just hate women. No one says “boyboss” when the main character of an action movie is a guy who kills a bunch of dudes.
Also it’s shortsighted and illogical. If we were to change the social and civil laws that are unfair to women, women have to take over every influential position to make it happen. Because real effective change comes from having seats at the table, not from protesting outside the door or begging those in power to feel sympathy for us. I honestly think bashing that idea is psyop by men to discourage women from seeking more positions of power. It’s not surprising to me that right after this, tradwives content became popular because women don’t have to work and be a girlboss anymore. They should just let men lead the home and the country and it’s okay. If anything that tells me women are close to a breakthrough, all this resistance is because we’ve hit a vital nerve in the patriarchal structure. We should go back to that instead of this current nonsensical movement.

These voters didn’t just fuck their own country, they fucked the whole rest of the world, especially the poorest countries through things like the cutting of USAid. People are starving to death, and a 9/11’s worth of Americans died every day during the worst of the pre-vaccine period of the pandemic, all because in TWO elections, the prospect of a female president was more intolerable to voters than the prospect of a male president who dismantled American democracy so badly that it dropped from the Full Democracy category to the Flawed Democracy category.

You are not required to like every female politician. (I don’t like some of them.) You are not required to like every female CEO. (I don’t like some of them.) You are not required to like every female police officer. (I feel certain that I would not like some of them if I knew about their conduct.) You are required to recognise, and assert, that as long as any particular structure of authority exists, having all of the authorities be male will always be worse for women than having parity between men and women.
I'll add that female resistance leaders have made important advances for women. Suffrage was a resistance movement and so was second wave feminism. BUT those movements were successful because they prioritised women even when it made men angry. The problem with most left wing "feminists" isn't that they're left wing; it's that they prioritise left wing men's wants at the expense of women and girls' needs, when it should be the other way around.

People will be in awe of men's collections of toys or vehicles or whatever but god forbid a woman like to collect paint markers, coloring books or figurines, she's getting critiqued for consumerism.

I've also noticed people tend to turn to men as "teachers" for hobbies, and not think a female tutor could give good advice. Worse, women who are good at their hobbies are treated as frivolous as in "that's cute that she draws" but men who are good enough get called masters of their art.

Having to view kindness as punk shows a much scarier part of our world. Being kind is outside of the social norm, you deviate and become “punk” when you act outside of what you’re supposed to do. We as a society have decided that kindness isn’t worth our time. So yeah, kindness is punk in our dystopian world, and we shouldn’t think “but that’s what you’re supposed to do”. If something is punk, most people aren’t doing it.
