Let me introduce you to…
Red Handed Tamarin
…who looks like a bat-monkey-bird hybrid in the coolest way.
i dont think i posted these but here i made a little frog pattern to make tiny frog toys with my grandma
this is the first lil guy I made while still learning how i should sew it
AAA ok so a lot of people have been asking for the pattern to this, tho I’ve been using just these two little papers to do the cut outs lol
i tried my best to translate it into digital so that people get a bit more accurate look at them. Tho bear with me I’ve never done an actual pattern design sheet before!
so basically my hope is that anyone could print these out to any size of their choosing and get the same result, but ive never tried anything larger than approx. 3 inches with these sooo idk if you try it tag me!
the goal is to sew the backs together to the lines at the tip of the head to the middle of the butt. then leaving a space along the belly piece near the butt end and sewing from one side of the butt including all the legs and the “mouth” to the other side with its legs to get back to the butt. if that makes sense
i usually pause sewing up the body once the head is fully sewn together,, usually after ive sewn both arms and ill yank it inside out where ill start sewing on the little poofball eyes so i know theyre in a good place, then resuming the body, and then pulling the whole thing inside out and pushing out the tips of the limbs with a skinny blunt object like a dull pencil until i can see the stitches. if you attempt this piece definitely make sure you stitch up the arm and leg crevices very well!!!!
then just stuff the lad and sew up his back end and its done :)
one suggestion for fabric is always try to use a stretchy soft fleecy fabric with these because its much easier if mistakes are made during sewing and to hold the ROUND shape better
Overall its a very good use of scraps if you’ve accumulated a lot and don’t know what to do with them 👍👍
So I made a frog (huge)
I literally can’t I’m losing my mind over the sheer girth of this frog.
Absolutely incredible.
11/10 and godspeed.
My first shot at creating a sort of tutorial/guide, telling how I do things. On this initial chapter we’re going over the handy matter of Hands. Not meaning to be an encyclopedic explanation, only showing my own methods and self-taught clues. Hoping somebody finds it useful! :3 I’ll do more if this one is received well. So let me know~
My thanks also to the supporters in my Patreon campaign, who helped me decide which themes to focus on for a start. And are actually allowing this to happen. :D Cheers!

Excuse me is this shitty clickbait ad trying to sully the good name of Charles Schulz
Cutting off the letter is also bad form clickbait people, but I’ll get it placed in proper order as it goes
People I like can be divided into two groups: a) those who enjoy and get Charles M. Schulz’s wonderful Peanuts comic strip; b) those fools who don’t. All of human life is in the artist and writer’s 17,897 comic strips.
In 1968 Schulz noticed the Civil Rights movement, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., and read a letter from Los Angeles schoolteacher Harriet Glickman. She had a question for Schulz: would he include a black child in the Peanuts gang?
To which Schultz responded with the letter above, in what reads like an incredibly respectful and progressive manner.
He isn’t black and doesn’t want to offend the black community by doing them wrong in his portrayal, that would even work today as a reason.
Mrs. Glickman responded:
Dear Mr. Schulz,
I appreciate your taking the time to answer my letter about Negro children in Peanuts.
You present an interesting dilemma. I would like your permission to use your letter to show some Negro friends. Their responses as parents may prove useful to you in your thinking on this subject.
Sincerely,
Harriet Glickman
True to her word, Mrs Glickman showed the letter to others. Kenneth C. Kelly, one of Mrs. Glickman’s ‘Negro friends’, saw the missive and wrote to the artist:
Dear Mr. Schulz:
With regards to your correspondence with Mrs. Glickman on the subject of including Negro kids in the fabric of Peanuts, I’d like to express an opinion as a Negro father of two young boys. You mention a fear of being patronizing. Though I doubt that any Negro would view your efforts that way, I’d like to suggest that an accusation of being patronizing would be a small price to pay for the positive results that would accrue!
We have a situation in America in which racial enmity is constantly portrayed. The inclusion of a Negro supernumerary in some of the group scenes in Peanuts would do two important things. Firstly, it would ease my problem of having my kids seeing themselves pictured in the overall American scene. Secondly, it would suggest racial amity in a casual day-to-day sense.
I deliberately suggest a supernumerary role for a Negro character. The inclusion of a Negro in your occasional group scenes would quietly and unobtrusively set the stage for a principal character at a later date, should the basis for such a principal develop.
We have too long used Negro supernumeraries in such unhappy situations as a movie prison scene, while excluding Negro supernumeraries in quiet and normal scenes of people just living, loving, worrying, entering a hotel, the lobby of an office building, a downtown New York City street scene. There are insidious negative effects in these practices of the movie industry, TV industry, magazine publishing, and syndicated cartoons.
Sincerely,
KCK
Schulz sent Mrs. Glickman a personal note:
Franklin was in the gang.
Opening bit till it gets to the letters is mine, most of the rest comes from this article
https://flashbak.com/why-charles-m-schulz-gave-peanuts-a-black-character-1968-47081/
When Charles Schultz listened to the opinion of a person of color and put Franklin in his comic strip as good representation and somebody still wants to try to cancel him anyway.
From this article:
Schulz recounted some further negative reactions in an interview with Michael Barrier in 1988. Schulz said, “I finally put Franklin in, and there was one strip where Charlie Brown and Franklin had been playing on the beach, and Franklin said, ‘Well, it’s been nice being with you, come on over to my house some time.’ Again, they didn’t like that.” Schulz also recalled a discussion with Larry Rutman, who at the time ran King Features Syndicate (which distributed Peanuts to newspapers). Schulz said, “I remember telling Larry at the time about Franklin—he wanted me to change it, and we talked about it for a long while on the phone, and I finally sighed and said, “Well, Larry, let’s put it this way: Either you print it just the way I draw it or I quit. How’s that?”

Its my personal belief that the “but how do you explain it to the kids?” crowd, has never explained anything to a child in their lives.

Ruby Bridges was the first black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis in 1960.
This movie made me cry, I was so heart broken by how Ruby Bridges was treated! She was only 6, but was so strong. She is a very brave girl and she did not care what the white folks called her.
People are simply disgusting to minimize people by skin color!
Ruby you might not think you’re a hero… But to other people you are! You are A HERO and you are A PERSON WHO MADE AMERICA CHANGE!
this is white culture, this is their history, this is their legacy…being enraged at a damn baby just because she’s black.
she’s still alive by the way
Ruby Bridges in 2010
“As Bridges describes it, “Driving up I could see the crowd, but living in New Orleans, I actually thought it was Mardi Gras. There was a large crowd of people outside of the school. They were throwing things and shouting, and that sort of goes on in New Orleans at Mardi Gras.“ Former United States Deputy Marshal Charles Burks later recalled, “She showed a lot of courage. She never cried. She didn’t whimper. She just marched along like a little soldier, and we’re all very very proud of her.“
U.S. Marshals escorted Bridges to and from school
As soon as Bridges entered the school, white parents pulled their own children out; all the teachers refused to teach while a black child was enrolled. Only one person agreed to teach Ruby and that was Barbara Henry, from Boston, Massachusetts, and for over a year Henry taught her alone, “as if she were teaching a whole class.”
Every morning, as Bridges walked to school, one woman would threaten to poison her; because of this, the U.S. Marshals dispatched by President Eisenhower, who were overseeing her safety, allowed Ruby to eat only the food that she brought from home.
Another woman at the school put a black baby doll in a wooden coffin and protested with it outside the school, a sight that Bridges Hall has said “scared me more than the nasty things people screamed at us.” At her mother’s suggestion, Bridges began to pray on the way to school, which she found provided protection from the comments yelled at her on the daily walks.”

THIS SHIT WAS ONLY 58 YEARS AGO. PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS RACIST TERRORISM AND ACTS LIKE IT ARE STILL ALIVE, AND THEIR KIDS ARE IN THEIR 40′S AND 50′S.
DON’T LET RACISM APOLOGISTS GET AWAY WITH “WHY ARE YOU LIVING IN THE PAST,” BULLSHIT ARGUMENTS. WE ARE LITERALLY STILL DEALING WITH THE FAMILIES THAT FORMED HATE MOBS OVER BLACK CHILDREN ATTENDING SCHOOL WITH WHITE KIDS.
This was her then:
This is literally how she looks in 2017.
She’s literally not even old.
This is alway profound to me and gives me chills

Still losing my mind over the Animal Crossing series having a Turnip seller, Bug Catching enthusiast and whoever the hell this Beaver was who used to look like this
But now for New Horizons they look like this
Complete bimbo/babyfication
it's their grandkids, are they not allowed to retire??
Absolutely not
It's granddaughter and sons, and CJ even drags his dad saying he doesn't actually know how to fish just eat them.
The new characters are a treat. Daisymae will send you bamboo shoots if you buy turnips often enough, Flick will basically pay off your house with his love of bugs, and CJ will talk about his boyfriend and buy fish, as well as hold the fishing tourneys in a much better way than old games.
Tom, Timmy and Tommy haven't aged because they're tanuki which are often considered yokai.
Blathers and the Able sisters got in with Nook early so he shares his power with them.
Kicks started as a young skunk so he can slowly age with the series.
Gulliver is essentially a sailor's ghost stuck to sail the seas.
yeah that all tracks
Wait go back to the part where the Nook family are yokai because I don’t think we’ve fully unpacked that yet
Tanuki, or Japanese racoon dog, the animal nook, timmy, and tommy are actually based on (it's only localized to racoon); is a famous magical trickster figure in Japanese folk lore.
They liked tricking humans into giving them money by trading them leaves magicly cloaked to look like other objects. Sound familiar?
They are not evil however, just mischivous, and in modern iderations of the mythos they generally bring good luck and fortune to small businesses. People even place their statues outside their stores to bring in customers.
Nook also started out as a small town businessman, down on his luck, and eventually with his quick wit grew his company into a housing empire where he builds homes, furnishes buildings, populates towns, and mentors others in good business practices ala Timmy and tommy, who were his pupils, and Lyle the otter later on.
Lyle being a former conman who likely got in over his head working with one kitsune...speaking of, one of the biggest bits of evidence of Tom nook being a yokai is his bitter rivalry with said fox, Crazy Redd.
Crazy Redd was a character in the series known for running a black market of fake and real art and would regularly con the player character out of their money selling them overpriced items and fake paintings.
In the back lore of wild world and happy home designer we learn that when Nook was young he went to the city with hopes and dreams to earn his fortune, but his dreams were crushed when all his money was stolen from him by a business partner he trusted, thus why he took Timmy and tommy and eventually Lyle under his wing and helped them learn better business practices to avoid, or at least get themselves out of, a similar fate. In happy home designer we learn that Nook once worked with a fox when he was young and he would never make that mistake again. Redd also makes multiple references to nook in that game as well, making fun of his home, ect. You can infer from this that Redd was the fox who cheated him and likely was the same one who broke his spirit in the big city. Tanukis and Kitsunes (fox yokai) have a similar bitter rivalry in mythos, to the death sometimes even.
Kitsunes also have the power of illussion but are much more malicious generally and regularly trick people into thinking sticks and leaves are valuable objects or food, much like Redd tricks people with his paintings.
Inshort Tom nook is a yokai cause Japanese myth inspiration in his character and species. However, this falls under and relies on the same assumption that Redd is also a yokai.
Great dad. A+ for trauma.
he's finally walking 😂
