I’m glad so many people have discovered Judith “Judy” Heumann through this silly little gif set. I am sorry to say she has died at the age of 75. She was known as the mother of disability rights. In 1970 she sued the Board of Education to become a licensed teacher and she won. In 1977 she was one of the organizers of the 504 Sit-in, a 24 day protest for disability rights. You can learn more about her story from her book Being Heumann, the picture book Fighting for YES! or the documentary Crip Camp.

Judy Heumann believed in the inherent value of each disabled individual and would never back down on what she thought was right. Her friends and fellow activists remember her as a strong leader.

has anyone noticed that after the porn ban of 2018 tumblr was essentially killed from the mainstream and everyone flocked to other social media sites like twitter and meta. then those sites got enshittified to where twitter became Nazi Central and meta sites had an entire meme around getting “zucced” aka mark zuckerberg himself would ban you for saying a no-no word like fuck. and then the mainstream shifted to tiktok where infamous toddlerspeak sentences like “he got unalived by a pew pew” were born because if you once again say a no-no word like kill or gun or any other word that isn’t corporate i mean kid friendly then the algorithm will bury your post into the ground. and somehow we’ve come full circle and tumblr is now the most bearable social media site because although we can’t have female presenting nipples we can at least talk to each other like adults. has anyone noticed that at all or is it just me and the flaming skull

Look, it's the Magnificent Six!

Thank you, also, I sometimes feel like that too! And occasionally I enjoy this feeling like the people who have read it are keepers of some secret TF lore lol Memes aside, it really does stand out as one of my favorite stories in the franchise.

I've mentioned "The Magnificent Six!" so many times, but there's still so much more I could say about it. The insight into Decepticons grooming future leaders. The fact it begins with a Decepticon's view of the Autobots. The sadistic cruelty of the tortures. The struggle to do the right thing and hold on to moral values in the worst of circumstances. How people are irrevocably changed by war. The Autobots having to learn that even simply acknowledging trauma—trauma so intense it makes them paralyzed and fall to the ground crying—is a form of strength. The brutality of the scene of the Autobots stepping in and out of the fog. The moral victory that almost wasn't. The somber note of the ending...

I genuinely think of this every time I even see one of these Autobot characters, I can't see any of them the same way after it, which is why I always reference this story lol Especially since my favorite transformer is Jazz, so it was especially affecting for me! I appreciate that he was such a focus in it, even if it's obscure now.

All of this is so spot on.

The bit I remember the most is the part where Megadeath is doing the countdown to killing Stampede, and with each number, it cuts to one of the Autobots, and how each of them are just stuck in their fear, unable to do anything. It actually haunted me for days afterwards.

I think it's a great look into how a long, protracted war does result in brutality, and, as you said, how people are changed by war.

I have to go read it again!
