i'm seeing way too much fucking trans infighting on my dash from people who are supposed to know about cointelpro.
did you know common viruses are linked to serious health problems?
my new theory: covid had to become 'just a cold' culturally because more research is coming out all the time about how you don't wanna get sick in general, it can absolutely fuck up your life, and people realizing that will inevitably result in people demanding changes to the way things work.
the thing that they don't want you to know is that these acute sicknesses, common viruses and colds, can either cause direct damage or create the circumstances that lead to long term, often complex health problems down the road. by 'they', i mean the people who have a vested interest in putting all our bodies through the meat grinder of late stage capitalism 'business as usual', no matter the circumstances.
i don't have a lot of spoons to write about this today and i'm brain foggy so i'm not gonna be the most eloquent but
think about the implications if your boss making you come in sick can lead to your coworker developing parkinsons or ms or heart damage or cancer. if people knew these things, they would absolutely not take the business as usual shit we're doing right now. people would demand paid time off. people would demand universal healthcare. people would demand so much more.
for example, just saw this recently.
A new study shows how the body’s response to severe influenza can kill heart muscle cells, a discovery that could pave the way for drugs to
but it's also not just this. conditions like MS and parkinsons, even cancers, among others have been linked to viruses, like for one, epstein barr. (epstein barr is mono, by the way).
Infection of the brain with HPgV, an otherwise harmless virus, may trigger Parkinson’s, particularly in those with LRRK2 mutations, a study

cancer, y'all. certain viruses, including covid, increase your likelihood of getting cancer.

if we all really understood this, i believe more of us would be masking up. i don't want this for any of us and it's important to know these things.
i don't think that there is necessarily a global conspiracy to keep this from us, obviously donald trump and joe biden have gotten covid a billion times and are suffering because of it, obviously some of it is just plain ignorance but it is true that the powers that be have a vested interest in us not understanding this.
and if you aren't familiar with the long term damage covid causes:

"Building a Male Body" by Beryl Dean Kotula
This article comes from a 1997 issue of Transgender Tapestry. Beryl Dean Kotula is a FTM artist, writer, and activist from Portland, Oregon. He has published other material, most notably his book The Phallus Palace, which documents the medical transition of FTM/F2M people in the early 2000s.

It must be that some people spent a couple weeks in their homes over six years ago, not that we let a disease that literally kills bones circulate for years and years with no precautions and dwindling vaccination rate.
The other diagram pissed me off, so I made my own.
The other diagram, for reference:
Paraphrasing what another user already said, you gotta be extremely out of touch with discourse to think MRAs believe in afab oppression.
I'd argue that trans radfems have a much more solid overlap with MRAs on that front, because they repeatedly expressed that they believe being assigned female gives you a privilege. Their hatred towards detransitioners also stems from it - they tend to equate detransitioners with "afab only former trans men" and see detransition as something trans men are "allowed" to do.

it’s actually quite easy to take over a small local government group if you really want to, bc if you volunteer consistently people will just put you in charge of whatever. I’m now one of like three people at a nature preserve making official decisions about trails, putting in a prairie, and designing a series of illustrations for a storybook trail etc., and it’s just because last summer I started coming over once a week to help the naturalist out for a couple hours. Mine now. you too can steal an organization and shape it to your will 🫵
one thing about medical misogyny experienced by "female-presenting patients" (the term usually used in healthcare, maybe not an ideal term but it is the one that's used) is that there are a lot of different ways to be or become a "female-presenting patient."
For some, it will be being a woman, cis or trans, and presenting as such. For others, it will be an F on the patient documentation, whether or not that matches your gender presentation. For others, it will be when despite the M on your documentation, you are forced to seek care for your cervix, or for an ovarian cyst, or pre-natal care. Your old name appearing on a form somewhere. Patient history notes that reveals pap smears or a history of taking birth control, or pregnancy. No one in any of these situations is immune to medical misogyny because any of these situations can put them in the "female-presenting patient" category in the minds of their healthcare providers. None of these situations confer immunity. The only situations that make you completely immune to medical misogyny is being perceived 100% fully 100% of the time as a cis man, with no possibility that your providers could find out or guess otherwise. And the only people that could possibly apply to are cis men. Anyone else is extremely likely to be found out or clocked in a medical setting. I know this requires an obvious and basic understanding of both the medical system and how sexism works, and is therefore confusing to a lot of people.
sorry but if you want me to take your feminism seriously consider, at minimum, not misgendering Judith Butler
In case anyone was wondering about the current state of transfeminism, one of the most praised transfeminist authors just boldly and unapologetically referred to someone as "tdickmatized".
We're supposed to take seriously the critiques of a woman who is coming up with new derogatory terms for transmascs in relation to their genitals.
okay you've taken offense to this one sentence in the book. which book? oh you won't tell us okay*. oh it was ten words from that run-on sentence which you've. okay which you've paraphrased to mean something inflammatory. awesome i'll 100% buy your book encouraging transfems to secede from community as a whole so we only associate with people we agree with! #communism am i right
*Book is Public Sex: The Culture of Radical Sex by Pat Califa by the way
I realise dogpiling isn't gonna change anyone's mind but i'll say my bit anyway. The people who are constantly uplifted on this website as pillars of transfeminism are increasingly just reactionaries using revolutionary communist talk to drive hate and encourage us to fear our non-transfem friends and isolate ourselves from any sort of actual force creating social change.
I would like everyone to know:
Everyone who’s upset about me going after this book and using the phrase the tdickmatized… you’re defending a book that defends pedophilia. Not any amount of destigmatizing but straight up abolishing the age of consent. Have a good day.
I am not defending the author or their views by criticizing your use of the word tdickmatized. You can criticize the author's views without using derogatory terms for transmasc's genitals.
That is one HELL of an extremely bold claim to make about a book that, again, the OOP is refusing to let anyone read for themselves on the basis of it being a traumatically corrupting influence.
Which is interesting, since the book is over thirty years old.
If Pat Califa were, in fact, actually agitating for an increase to the sexual abuse of endangerment of children, don't we all think perhaps that would have been mentioned in the last 30 years of commentary?
No?
No, we should just assume that a queer man--the group of people MOST LIKELY to be stigmatized as child molesters in the west--is himself a secret child molester and that it took the brave and insightful eye of someone who personally detests him for being a queer man to figure it out?
You really think a book that has had multiple reprints and multiple additions in the last 30 years is secretly calling for mass child rape and no one else ever noticed?
I'll say it again:
That's one HELL of a bold claim.
A claim refuted by Califa in 1992 before the first edition of the cited book was even released:
'I don't agree with NAMBLA, because their position is that age-of-consent laws should be repealed, and there are members of that organization who think it's OK for prepubescent children to have sexual relationships with adults, and I just cannot agree with that. I think it's developmentally inappropriate.'
So, yeah, okay, this is just straight up lying to call a queer man a child rapist so you can feel great about sexually harassing him by mocking his genitals in public.
TLDR: OOP is a lying asshole who wants us to really truly believe for realsies that THIS time the queer man being lambasted as a child rapist is doing it for real. Meanwhile, the man in question has been loudly refuting these claims for longer than OOP has been ALIVE.
Incredible work simultaneously blaming trans men for their own need to join teams that don’t align with their identity (or else end their careers entirely) while reaffirming the sexist structure of sports but like, wokely. I agree this and all “women’s teams” should sign trans women but like what are we doing here. Why are we acting like this is some kind of unforgivable misogynistic act that poor wombyn are going to be FORCED to play with a MAN (no it’s ok he’s trans so it’s actually super affirming to say that!!!) and not like. Focus on how it sucks that trans athletes have to make these kinds of choices. Wait I know why it’s bc hating transmasculine ppl is considered cool right now
Okay so Victorian erotica is literally the most heinous, morally bankrupt, horrific shit I've ever read - but I've read a fair bit, partly from historical interest but also because a while back I helped a friend with a university project she was doing about censorship and pornography in 19th century England.
Anyway I need to share with you all the most hilarious line that has ever been written, circa 1887:
I feel like this excerpt is significantly enhanced by knowing that the novel in question is a first-person narrative written from the perspective of an inexplicably sapient flea who lives on Bella's body, and that's why the third priest's penis is described in this way: from the narrator's perspective it literally blots out the sky.
