Since the first time I saw Rebellion village in game, I've been absolutely in love with it and the music in this area. I've been wanting to draw this scene ever since. Rebellion village my beloved.

Pixel post dividers for everyone! It's not much, but feel free to use them if you'd like. I don't know the ideal size for these, so let me know if they're too tall. I can make them a bit shorter next time.
oh edward elric bleeding out and nearly dying impaled by a massive steel beam shaving pieces off his soul and years off his life because he chose not to kill the objectively worst guy he's ever met but he's just like. ah. if this is the price i have to pay for mercy i'm glad to pay it. 16 years old, unshakeable belief in the value of a life, shortest fuse in the world, mad as hell at all times, heart of gold for all of humanity. no one is doing it like him
it had to be kimblee too. it's a necessary part of any hardline pacifist's story to come up against the worst guy ever and still choose principle. anyone less evil would have been worth risking his life for. kimblee wasn't worth it at all. still ed doesn't mind. a lesser story would have made this the turning point where ed learns that he should kill but nope, that's not who he is, this doesn't change anything, the value of a person does not change. he's gonna live with his decision. he knows kimblee's never gonna change he knows his mercy is wasted he knows everyone thinks he's stupid but it's the principle of the thing. and it's the outflow of the action. mercy won't save kimblee but it saved his 4 men. it's a beacon for miles. it saved winry. it can save scar. as soon as 1 person isn't worth it, none of us are because one is all and all is one.

i wish there was a way to say "you're right, but this is really ineffective and even counterproductive messaging to anyone who doesn't already agree with you" without sounding like an asshole
some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
Shakespeare is like this
Every time I see a Van Gogh that’s not one of his better known pieces it absolutely blows me away
Have you seen this shit my liege? smh unreal
its probably a normal sign for the economy that all of my adulthood fantasies are like "imagine having your own kitchen living room and bathroom to decorate" "what if i could get on a train" "maybe one day i could purchase a sturdy pair of shoes" "i should save and invest in a single bicycle"
the signal catcher 📡
ive invented (note: dubious claim) something i call the bear diet which is mostly fruits and vegetables with fish as the main protein source and something like once a month you eat a few hyperprocessed foods of your liking because that is when you, the bear, raid a dumpster in the suburbs
after the hyperprocessed foods, do you take tranquilizers to simulate getting captured by animal control and returned to the wild?
i would settle for melatonin gummies but well. knock yourself out
Saiunkoku Monogatari Moodboard to show that SaiMono was inspired by "Chinese Classics/literature"
Heroine's Journey - Kou Shuurei's growth as the first woman who enter Saiunkoku's world of politics and later leave to get married. Her story questioned patriachal society norms as she try the profession exclusive for men only without erasing her feminine qualities. This type of story is quite popular in Chinese Costume Dramas.
Tragic Romance - Their interests are doomed from the start. Heroine want to enter politics but her ML is the emperor of the country. There's power imbalance but its not their fault. They are in very complicated situation. They did their best to get their happy ending tho. Their story reference Chinese tragic love stories that are important in Chinese literature like Butterfly Lovers, and Cowheard & Weaver Girl. The story constantly compare the heroine to Celestial Maiden's story where her ML wish he can do what the human lover did to hide the maiden's robe so she will not leave him.
Wuxia - Ensei and Seiran's adventure in Sa province where bandits are rampant because it was abandoned by the government. At some point, the same province even suffered from epidemic. So we have someone like Ensei who had to become a governor without passing the civil official exam. His character is actually inspired from Yanqing of Water Margin.
Xianxia - 8 immortals of Saiunkoku worshipped by people. Despite existing in the world setting, they never became the star of the story. They only observe and help humans from time to time. The 8 immortals is heavily inspired from Baxian, the 8 immortals in Chinese mythology.
Court Intrigue - It has some court intrigue, politics and economics since heroine became a civil official. It became more prominent when heroine became censorate to investigate corrupt officials so she will know who want her ML's head and protect citizens. Again, another well-loved genre in Chinese classics.
Folktales, Idioms, Poems, Tropes & more. - Aside from the popular Chinese classic, SaiMono constantly referenced so many tropes that exist in Chinese stories. You will notice some Chinese poems, idioms and folktales being referenced in SaiMono world setting here and there.
