white lgbt gentiles need to more properly conceptualize that fascists are fully intent on murdering them too, and need to take them more seriously. recognizing the ways fascists dogwhistle and identify each other in public is a matter of safety for you. you should learn to recognize fascists when they’re trying to be stealthy, and if you can’t even do the bare absolute minimum of refraining from constantly accidentally reblogging dumb obvious dogwhistling nazi meme blogs its like, how’re you gonna survive? there are lots of fascists you’ll see in person who won’t be immediately identifiable as nazis upon looking at them. i had a waiter at a restaurant who just looked like a normal hipster dude until i noticed the small othala rune tattooed on his arm. i saw another guy on the bus while traveling home who i also would have thought of as just some dude if i didn’t notice the chaos sun on his shirt. its in how they dress, how they speak, how they present themselves with jewelry and tattoos. many nazis dont look like the stereotypical skinhead beefcake. it really annoys the shit out of me how many white lgbt gentiles dont seem to take dogwhistling seriously, and seem to just think of it as a problem for jewish people and people of color. no dude they’re gonna kill you too.
but at the same time, even if they weren’t a threat to you, you should still be taking them just as you should if they were a direct threat to you. that’s just basic allyship.
but the shit thats like “haha man i cant believe we have to memorize all these symbols and numbers and dogwhistles and shit thats just too difficult for me” like do you not realize these people are conspiring for your death?
There are plenty of easy to spot ones.
For example, if you see something surrounded by triple parentheses, like (((Albert Einstein))), this is referred to as echoes, as the supposed “echoes of Jewish influence are felt across history”’. It is fundamentally antisemitic, but also on Tumblr you need to take a second look because a bunch of dumbass roleplay blogs use triple parentheses to show they aren’t speaking in character.
Another one are the number dogwhistles, of which there are many. 1488 refers to the 14 words, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”, and 88, which refers to the 8th letter of the alphabet H. HH means “Heil Hitler”. Another one is 1350, which refers to “13 percent of the population (black people) commit 50 percent of the crime”, which is a more specifically antiblack dogwhistle, and references to “the 9%”, the Nazi-approved percentage of people in the world who are purportedly white.
Phrases used include “blood and soil”, “Jews (sometimes the ‘Jew’ is replaced with ‘You’) will not replace us”, “happy merchant” (with an image of a hand-wringing Jewish man with a massive nose), “kvetching”, “GTKRWN” (gas the k*kes, race war now), “globalist leaders” (this one can be covered up because many non-antisemitic people are critical of globalism, typically has echoes around it), “Anti-racist is code for anti-white”, “It’s okay to be white”, “The 6 trillion/ the 6 gorillion” (a put-down implying the figure of 6 million jews killed by nazis in WW2 is made up), “White Lives Matter” (and yes I’m fucking looking at “Blue Lives Matter”), and “Diversity = White Genocide”.
This is not an exhaustive list, but these are the most common ones, and you’d do well to arm yourself with this knowledge.
