Pharma doesn’t actually care that Knock Out and Starscream are ex-Decepticons since they’re impotent next to the DJD that tormented him, he just wants them terminated because they are annoying as all hell. He also has a vendetta against Knock Out for becoming Ratchet’s assistant during his absence :///)
I think it's actually very telling that we didn't get a Dek and Thia forehead bump. What are your thoughts on it? Was it because he thought it might be too forward? Maybe he was nervous? Idk. It's interesting because it seemed like the natural progression of that moment and then it just didn't happen
And I gotta say that Dan has definitely read fanfic. "I have my own clan now." and then Thia walks out? They've been living on the ship together with their big murder dog/daughter?? Hello?? Get outta here with the found family platonic stuff that is husband and wife right there and Thia is about to meet her mother in law

personally i feel like the headbutting thing at that particular moment was between Bud, her mama and Dek. And i agree that it felt weird to leave thia out but i THINK i know why they did so -
very strongly, the relationship between those three characters in particular was presented platonically. Bud seems very much attached to Dek in a starry-eyed way, and the mama kalisk wanted to impart her thanks that he stepped up to be someone important to her baby
including thia in that might've MAYBE muddied that, lending some people to maybe question wait so are they ALSO platonic or not?? so i think dan just...didn't want to leave that powerful scene to chance
HOWEVER, because he didnt want to leave it to chance, he also makes it a very SIGNIFICANT thing, as you say.
This is why i personally fixated on Thia's "Dek of the Yautja" line - because for Dek to insist "not yet" (repeatedly over the course of the last two acts!) and THEN accept it once he introduces her as HIS clan oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my lord Dan you are DEVIOUS
this is clearly a very special relationship to him and he DOES NOT WANT it to have a definitive "oh they're just friends/familial" no sir!! he WANTS room to explore them further, he wants there to be a vibe between them AND HE SUCEEDED
and no hate to the platonic viewers, but im convinced the found family platonic fans are only children because what do you MEAN you think they spent what could very possibly been MONTHS to a YEAR together and only talked about what? the chore list? You dont look at your siblings w bedroom eyes IM JUST SAYING THATS JUST ME BEING BITCHY BUT ALSO IM RIGHT
So in sum, from a directorial standpoint, Im positive Dan didnt want to confuse Thia and Dek's relationship as "strictly" platonic so chose to leave her out of it

KOBD idea that I haven't written but have had as an idea for awhile.
Years before Breakdown left the Stunticons due to a falling out with the others. This caused the group to fall apart and go their seperate ways.
In the intermittent time Breakdown changed a lot, got some therapy, met and teamed up with Knock Out, fell in love with him, etc.
Eventually Motormaster reemerges and start trying to get the stuntions back together to become Menasor again. They approach Breakdown but he refuses to rejoin the group.
Welp with that refusal they just give up and move on with their lives...
hahah nah they corner and kidnap Knock Out to try and strong arm Breakdown into rejoining the group.
Unfortunately for motomaster, in classic action movie fashion, Breakdown has become, like, a total badass in the intervening years and has allies now. And while initially he had issues with beating his old team into scrap, motormaster has just thrown all those doubts out the window by taking knockout. So Breakdown gets his buddies together to storm their base and save knockout who, on his end, is sowing discord between the stunticons while trying to find an opening to escape.
