I either want to talk about diabetes nonstop and be super open about it or I donât want to talk about it at all and push it away but thereâs no in between nope
the next time you think youâre lonely, just remember you have about 25 billion white blood cells in your body protecting your sorry little ass with their life. you have 25 billion friends who would die for you. no need for tears.
thank you osmosis jones
My immune system tried to kill me though.
Jordan just remember you had twenty five billion enemies trying to kill you and youâve survived them all
Take THAT you tiny goddamn sons of bitches.Â
That pump site change in the dead of night because it's break and you stay up way too late (and you noticed there were 3 units left...)
When your pump falls straight out of your pocket and rips your site out...
Good morning pump
so at clinical today we had a guest speaker who was an endo nurse practitioner and gave a lecture on diabetes and this one thing she said i really liked and stuck with a bunch of my classmates
âdiabetes is a disease of the pancreas, not of the mouthâÂ
i know a lot of people think diabetes and think âtoo much foodâ âoverweightâ âlose weight and exercise and youll control your blood sugarâ ((and thats even whats taught in my nursing classes two weeks ago - that lifestyle change comes before medication but thats not really the right path most of the time))
she also said that âif diabetes was a disease of the mouth, everyone would be diabetic.âÂ
i just thought thats a little piece that we need to hold on to sometimes, that its the same as if you had any other organ failure, and isnât your fault at all and you cant control what your body does sometimes
@acskywalkerâ
this is what I've been going thru for 6months w my 630g and I never got shipped my supplies. Medtronic has even horrible to me and I pretty much got forced into the 680& I'm praying that it works better and they'll actually send me my supplies on time... like they're supposed to
Ugh, sorry to hear about that. From what I hear, the Guardian sensors are on backorder and a ton of people donât have access to the sensor that makes the hybrid-closed loop even possible. I switched from the trial version to the commercial version recently and oh boy. Even that switch took an adjustment so I canât even imagine how some people are dealing with the system right now. *Note: I am still in the extension arm of the original clinical trial. My insurance (which doesnât cover the 670g) has no part in my diabetes management, as the trial provides me with all supplies, excluding insulin
