Hi, and welcome to Understanding Neurodiversity.
One thing I’ve noticed about people is they don’t fully understand neurodivergence, which is completely okay, but I want to bring a better understanding.
I don’t want anyone to feel like they aren’t “normal” so I will not refer to neurotypicals as “normal people” or neurodivergents as “different”.
I’ll also color code key words I’ll use a lot, just to really emphasize their importance in what I’m saying, so here’s a guide:
Neurodivergent (all variations)
Neurotypical (all variations)
PTSD
ADHD
Autism/ASD
OCD
The colors mean nothing, don’t take them as any offensive meaning.
Anything relating to the topics that are colored which is particularly important will get the coordinating color.
ADHD, OCD, Autism, and PTSD are going to be the most explored topics in this blog. The reason PTSD is included is because the person experiences a lot of neurodivergent-like symptoms, so it’s a good topic to include when looking at neurodivergence.
If you want to see me apply this information to Undertale/Deltarue, visit @undertale-discussions for some interesting theories relating to this.
Finally, here’s some information on myself that will be helpful in the future.
- I am neurodivergent. I won’t discuss the flavor, but this is important because i will use personal experience to describe certain things.
- In this blog, refer to me as they/them. I am not non-binary, but I don’t feel comfortable sharing my gender.
- I’m forgetful, I might not color everything, so just let me know and I’ll fix it.
- I love when people comment. It’s just reassuring that I am actually connecting to people.
- I ramble.
That’s all for now. Questions can be asked through notes and the ask button. I’ll answer anything about neurodivergence to the best of my ability. I’m not professional, but I am trying to be, so all of this is thoroughly researched before I share anything.
Posts will be when I can. Schedules don’t work.
